Now today's update may not take the plot forward much but since I was absent for so many days from IF... I thought to give you something that had only Maaneet moments... hope you like it... and BTW another update coming up today... Keep waiting...😊😉

CHAPTER 17
It had been a disturbing night for Geet and she was unable to sleep properly. Shadows, long and dark flitted in and out of her subconciousness and she felt that she was struggling with someone in the process.
She was struggling to breathe when she suddenly felt someone jerking her and her eyes opened in a flash.
She stared wide-eyed and unblinkingly into the concened eyes of Man. It took her a moment to get her bearings right before she launched herself towards him in a bone crushing hug.
Maan gasped, reeling from the intensity at which she had grabbed him." Geet are you alright?" he asked soothingly, stroking her back as she continued to weep piteously.
" Did you have a nightmare?"
She nodded her head furiously, still crying and keeping her head buried in the crook of his neck. Someohow that seemed to soothe her frayed nerves. His masculine scent seemed to give her the strength to believe that everything was alright and that there was no need to fear anything or anyone, for that matter.
" Do you want to talk about it?"
Geet slowly left him and started speaking, hicupping in the middle of speech.
" I was fighting with soemone, really hard. It all seemed so real. I was chocking. there was no air to breathe..." she again started crying, cupping her face with both her palms.
This time it was Maan who held her in a tight embrace- letting her cry to her heart's content. After somethime, she subsided and the silence between them was soothing instead of being awkward.
Still holding her to himself, Maan asked," Bhook lagi hain kya? Breakfast karogi?"
It was just then that her stomach gave a loud rumble.
Maan laughed. " I guess I just got my answer."
Geet giggled too. Maan looked at her and said," That's a pretty little sound. It's a pity that we don't hear it often enough."
Geet blushed and her entire face became red with embarrasment.
Just to subside the awkwardness, Maan said," Now go and get freshed. I'll be waiting for you at the breakfast table."
Geet went inside the adjoining bathroom and brushed her teeth with the toothbrush she found there. She splashed water on her entire face and wanted to change out of her clothes too when she realised that she had no other clothes with her to change into. Anyways, that couldn't be undone.
She came out of the room and started looking for the breakfast room.
Nakul saw her and said," Arrey aap Geet maam hain na? Aap yaha kya kar rahi hain. Chaliye Maan sir aapka khane ke table pe intezaar kar rahe hain."
Geet followed Nakul and they reached the breakfast table. Geet was awestruck at the grandeur of the place.
Suddenly she realised that she had never- not even once- in the two times she had visited the mansion had the opportunity to look around the place.
The firts time she had come here, she was so blind with rage at Maan that she just did not want to see anything related to him. And before now she was too emotionally drained to see waht a beautiful place he lived in. It was not exactly a house- it was more of a palace.
She was broken out of her thoughts when Maan said," Nakul tum jaa sakte ho. Main serve karlunga."
Nakul left and Geet went to sit by the huge table that was capable of sitting atleast twelve people.
Geet remarked," This is a beautiful place that you have got . I never noticed the beauty of it before."
Maan replied nonchalantly," With the amount of rage you had when you visited the mansion before i do not doubt that statement."
Geet blushed and mumbled almost inaudibly," I did not visit this place. You carried me in here while I was unconcious with the aftershocks of too much bhaang."
Maan smirked and said," Very true, Miss Geet!!!"
Geet blushed even more if possible. Maan said slowly while measuring her reactions," I will take you for a tour of the mansion after you finish your breakfast. Now eat!" he said, placing some toasts and omlette in her plate.
Geet started eating slowly and calmly while Maan observed her each and every move. Her expressions even while eating were very cute and Maan felt a wild urge to kiss her pink cheeeks.
Geet looked up at Maan and saw that he ws engrossed in some deep thought. The plate infront of him was almost untouched. She frowned.
" Maan," she called out softly. Her call broke his trance and he said," Huh?"
" Won't you eat your food? You seem quite lost."
" Oh yeah. And don't worry I am just thinking of someo f my upcoming projects."
" Uh.. Geet can i ask you something?" he asked hesitatingly.
Geet smiled to encourage him to continue. " Why do you call me 'Maan'?"
Geet looked a bit confused at his statement. She frowned and said," I did not get you."
" I mean why do you call me 'Maan' and noy 'MK' like the others?"
" Oh," geet said as she exhaled. " well, I think 'MK' is quite cold and remote and 'Maan' seems more... human!!!"
Maan snorted. " Human?" he asked, sceptically.
Geet said," Yeah, i guess so."
Maan became lost in his thoughts after that. Geet saw that and asked," Do you not want me to call you 'Maan'?"
Maan shook his head," No it's just that it's different. No one really called me by that name."
Geet looked at him and asked," Really? No one? Not even your parents?"
Maan looked at her and spoke a bit sadly," I prefer not to discuss them."
" Oh. I am sorry."
" Don't be." Maan said and he smiled by which Geet realized that he is back to normal.
What a mercurial man!! Geet thought.
They finished their food and by that time Geet was feeling more comfortable with him- more comfortable than she ver thought of feeling in his presence.
Maan kept the plates in the sink and asked Geet if she was ready for the privately conducted tour.
Geet nodded but then said," Maan I actually want to go home after this. I do not have any change of clothes and I am wearing this since yeaterday and I need to get out of it."
Maan looked angry and said," You are not going anywhere until your injuries completely heal."
" But what about my clothes? And by the way I am completely fine. I do not have any problem except for a few scars on my neck and fingermarks on my shoulders and a bit of a pain."
Maan looked alarmed," Pain? What pain? Where is it paining?"
Geet rolled her eyes. " Chill. I have some spondolities problem and my back hurts most of the time. It's pretty normal for me."
" Do you want a massage?"
Geet's eyes widened. " No... no," she stammered before pulling herself back together. " But I need to go after the tour."
" No you don't and as for the clothes, i already have a few in stock."
Geet looked shocked at the revelations. " But...!!!"
" No ifs or buts. Now come on. Let's have a tour."
