THEIR SIDE OF STORY

Maan's family had waited long and tried hard to convince him to get married. Finally when Adi told them that there is a girl by the name of Ms. Handa he loves, they asked him about her whereabouts and he told them that he knew known, he only knows that she was his student and he had convinced her that he had got married, and she had left without questioning him. And after that day no one mentioned his marriage but silently everyone prayed that someday that Ms. Handa would miraculously appear and claim Maan as his man.

Not that they did not try, Dev went to NIT-B to find out who this Ms. Handa is and where she lives, but as soon as he stepped in the premises he was welcomed by a fuming Maan, he not only had to face his brother's wrath but also guilt as Maan was so adamant to stop him that he risked his health and later had to put on complete bedrest , it was in 2007. No one tried any such thing after that.

Mandavi, his mother often asked Suraj, his father to do something about it, but Suraj was also helpless, Maan had always had a habit of doing things opposite to his father's wishes, so Suraj thought it wise to keep away from his revolting son. He asked him to take Food Technology and he opted for Chemical, he asked him to join KC and he went to teach, he asked him to take it easy and after accident continue his job as it needed less stress, he came back; so now he has stopped asking him anything.

Dev and Vicky's wives, NT and Pari had not much to say about Maan, as they have not seen his brighter side, for them he was an arrogant and rude man who rarely smiled leave alone laugh, for them he was a stern man who only spoke when it was unavoidable, they also found it strange that the albums had his photographs which adorned naughty sparkling eyes, once Pari asked Mandavi that is he really her Jethji or someone else.

Sasha, his most trusted employee had always seen him perfect, if someone told her that once he was the most carefree and loved teacher. She would have fainted. The couple who assisted him in research, Myra and Yash, dreaded him, he never forgave anyone for even small mistakes, though he rarely shouted at them but his single frown was enough to take life out of them, when Yash told Myra that Maan was the naughtiest student in NIT-J she shrugged it as his imagination, Yash had been his junior in the college. If someone would tell them that he was the most patient teacher and if students wanted to ask queries they would come to him, they would have been shocked.

3^rd OCT 2011, 4:30 am

Adi arrived at Km, he was welcomed, he was the only person whose arrival made Maan calm, during his visits Maan was less rude and even joined them for meals, which he otherwise took alone in his room, with him (Adi) he was almost at peace.

The two friends chatted on a coffee later after taking a shower they joined the family for breakfast. Mandavi smiled at them; Adi came forward and hugged her, " hello aunty you look younger doing any yoga shoga" she patted his cheeks; her eyes misted as she remembered that theses were always Maan's lines, whenever he returned from the hostel he would say this; she wished her old son would someday come back; Maan gave his Maa a guilty look, he knew she missed his ways but he was helpless, he did not feel like that anymore.

Everyone was quite as Maan never liked people talking while eating, but Adi started to talk, "where is uncle?" Pari looked at him in horror, she waited for Maan to frown but Maan looked calm, NT patted her hand to relax, she understood with Adi many things change, she waited for Mandavi to reply but to her horror Maan said, "Suraj has gone to Germany" Maan never called him Dad, he always called him by his first name everyone knew expect NT and Pari, both looked pale, today was the day they realized how less they know about the elder Khurana son; meanwhile, Adi replied, "hard luck, I came especially to talk to him" Maan raised his eyebrows, "why do you want to talk to him?" Adi winked, "nothing to do with you buddy, just I wanted to ask him for a favor" Maan was annoyed, "favor Adi you just have to say, tell me what it is, and you need not ask the old man for any favors, you just have to order me" Adi smiled inwardly, he knew his father's name will trigger his anger but he said, "I know that's why I did not tell you" Maan insisted, "now say what it is" Adi gave him a dismissing look and sighed, "I have a cousin, she has done her PhD in XYZ topic she is of your field, ad she needs a job" Maan nodded and smiled, now Pari almost fainted, she excused herself as she can't stand more shocks, while Maan said, "send her to Sasha, she can assist us at our new project, it's about a certain ABC chemical, tell her she is taken" Adi congratulated himself, but said, "but Maan this is not done, interview her bio data etc, " Maan smiled again, Pari who was on the last step ran to her room to take a cold shower, Maan said, "no need, I know if you want her to work for us she should be the best" Adi hugged him.

Everyone left after the breakfast, Vicky hurried to hid room, he was worried for Pari, she left her breakfast and went almost ran to the room, he went in and found that she was having a shower, he was worried, he called her out and when she stepped out, she immediately hugged Vicky; he asked her what was wrong and she told how she is shocked after seeing this side of Maan, it was then that Vicky told her about how Maan was and how after the accident he changed.

Later when Maan went for his physiotherapy, Adi called every one out, and said, " I have found her" Dev sprigged up, "you mean Ms. Handa" he nodded and smiled, Mandavi was very happy, "where is she? Is she married? Does she know about Maan?" Vicky interrupted, "relax Maa, let Bhai tell" everyone looked at Adi eagerly, "I have known her for 3 years" Pari exclaimed,"3 years!" he nodded, "but I did not know she is the Ms. Handa" NT sighed "oh" Dev asked, "where is she?' Adi replied, "The girl I mentioned to Maan" NT completed, "she is her?" Adi nodded, "yes she is Geet Handa" Pari said, "such a beautiful name, NT added with excitement, "and musical too" Mandavi said, "now what do you want us to do?"

Adi explained the plan and said, "so Pinky will be coming tomorrow morning with her, while Pinky will come to KM Geet will go to KC staff quarters, right" everyone said in unison. "Right"
