Maan stood in front of his Dadima's photograph which was hanging on the wall with a garland around it..his Dadima had left him a few years back but before she went, she left for him a priceless gift..his life and wife..Geet.. she came next to him and put her hand on his shoulder.
Geet: Dadima ki yaad arahi hai?
Maan: yaad toh unki aati hai..jinne hum bhool jate hai..Dadima toh hamesha hamare saath hai.
Geet: sach kaha aapne..aaj unke wajah se hamari zindagi main itni bari khushi aayi hai
Maan turned towards Geet and gave her a hug..they had been married for three and a half years now and Geet gave him the good news that he will soon be a dad. Maan was very happy today that he could not thank God and his Dadima enough..if only she had been here to share this awesome news with..she would have been on top of the world.
Yes it was because of Dadima..Maan and Geet had gotten married..it was an arranged marriage which was done within a week. Dadima health was getting worse day by day..she knew that she had not got many days left so she wanted to fulfil the promise she gave to her dying son and daughter in law..that she will make Maan well settle in life.
Dadima had seen Geet at a friend's house warming party and decided that she will be the bahu of the Khurana family..Maan Singh Khurana's wife. Dadima had collected all the information she needed was going to ask Geet's family for her hand to give to her grandson Maan. But unfortunately before she could do anything she fell severely ill.
FLASHBACK
Dadima was lying in her bed with machine all around and connected to her..there were nurses monitoring her health 24/7. Maan walked in totally freaked out.
Maan: Dadima..yeh kya ho gaya ?
Dadima: kuch nahi bete..bus hamari jaane ki samai ho gayi hai
Maan: please Dadima..aisi baate mat kijiye
Dadima: Maan will you promise me one thing..I had promised your parents o their death bed that I will make sure you settle down in life before I breathe my last..I want to fulfil my promise before its too late..if I do not then how will I face my son and bahu?
Maan knew exactly what Dadima was trying to say..as this was not the first time this has happened..although the when it did Dadima was fit and healthy but today the situation was totally different..he did not waste further time and quickly accepted.
Maan: Dadima I will do anything for you..I'll get married to whoever you want.
Dadima: thank you bete..waise humne unse phone par baat karli hai..woh log kal yaha ajaayenge

Dadima was sat in the hall with blankets wrapped around her..the nurses were in her room and were continuously monitoring her health. Mohinder and Rano Handa had arrived..Geet's parents..they were first initially shocked when they received a phone call asking them to come to Khurana Mansion.. the Khurana's were well known in the whole of India and they were simply a middle class family who had moved from Hosiarpur for their daughter's further studies.
Dadima: hum jaante hain aap log kya soch rahe hain..actually hum khud aapke ghar aane chate te..but my health does not permit me
Mohinder: koi baat nahi ji..hum samaj sakte hai.
Dadima: ji..baat actually yeh hai..ki humne aapki beti ko kuch hafte pehle humne aapki beti ko dekha ta..Sharma ji ki house warming party main
Rano: acha ji..woh unki beti Meera aur Geet best friends hai.
Dadima: Geet..bohot pyaara naam hai..aapki beti ka...haan toh baat yeh ki hum chate hai ki hum aapki beti ki haath apne pote Maan ke liye maange
Mohinder and Rano look at Dadima shocked and then at each other..they could not believe that their daughter and the bahu of the Khurana's.
Dadima: ji aap kuch..
Mohinder: Maaji aap log kaha (he said whilst looking around their house) aur hum Hosiarpur ke rehne wale
Dadima: (cutting him off) ji humhe apne pote ke liye aisi hi ladki ki talaash hain..joh hamrani jaane ke baad hamari pote ka..iss ghar ka khyaal rak sake
Rano: lekin Maaji...aapke pote..matlab unhe yeh rishta manzoor hai?
Dadima: ji..humne Maan se baat karli hai..unhe koi aitraaz nahi hai..bus ek baar Maan aur Geet ki mulaqat ho jaye..
Meera: iska responsibility meri..(she said whilst walking in with her mom)

Maan and Geet had a brief introduction and a short meeting and decision was made that the wedding will be in one week..as Dadima's health was getting even more worse.
The wedding was done every simply at Khurana Mansion and Dadima was really happy that her promise was now fulfilled..now she could leaves this world happily.
Geet stood by the window in Maan's room..the bed was decorated..Maan walked in..they both had not spoken much to each other.
Maan: I know a girl has many expectations about her wedding and her husband to be..but how we got married..I'm sure you are not happy with it
Geet: main janti hoon..hamari shaadi Dadima ki khushi ki liye huyi hai..aur yeh bhi ki aapke liye Dadima kya maayne rakti hai..main aapse vaada karti hoon ki main ek achi bahu banne ki poori koshish karoongi.
Maan: thank you Geet..how about we start off as friends? (he extended his hand forward)
Geet: (shaking his hand) friends.

As time went by..Maan and Geet became good friends..a year went pass and they were very comfortable with each other.. Dadima was happy seeing their connection but at her health was just getting worse and the day came when she left the world forever.
Maan was totally broken..he could not take it..he stopped going to the office..stopped eating..he refrained himself to his room..Geet stood by him and gave him huge support and encouragement.. with her help he was able to get out of this grief and be his normal self again.

Maan and Geet's friendship was very strong by now..she also him with the official work.. and Maan was very impressed by her.. he also started to develop feeling for her but always tried to wash away that thought as he did not want to lose her..as Geet was the only person he had left in the world.
As friends they did many things together..like what usually friends do..they had dinner together..went for adventurous trips.. Maan taught Geet how to drive, horse riding and many more things.. Geet just loved being in Maan's company..when sitting alone she always thought that how did she marry a person whom she did not know anything about but now she is happy that she made this decision as she is happy the way she is and the way her life is going.

It was Valentine's day and Maan decided that today he will tell Geet exactly how he feels..and if she does not agree then he is happy being her friend but he did not want this to lose her by confessing his love so he will make this point clear before confessing he told himself.
Maan had arranged everything so beautifully and he knew Geet will love it..he knew her so well by now..the cruise was looking gorgeous it was the perfect place for him to confess.
Cruise Man: sir everything is ready
Maan: thank you, I'll be back in another hour with Geet
Cruise Man: ok sir.. sir your girlfriend is very lucky..she would not be able to turn down your proposal.. she will be ready to marry you
Maan: (smiling) not my girlfriend..my wife and we have been married for three years
Cruise Man: what??!! Sir you have not confessed to you wife yet..
Maan: look my man..it's a very long story
Cruise Man: (smiling) it's okay sir..alll the best
Maan: thanks

Maan: Geet yeh lo tumhari liye..jaldi se pehen lo humhe bahar jaane hai
Geet: okay Maan..bus ten minutes (she could never say no to him or ask any further questions.. whatever Maan says is final for her..nothing means more to her than Maan)
Maan was impatiently pacing from end of the hall to the other..he had selected a red saree for Geet.. he knew red was her favourite colour.. he himself wore a black shirt and trousers with black waist coat and a red tie.. he could not wait anymore so he went into their room.
Geet was standing in front of the mirror struggling with the dori of the backless blouse.. she saw Maan through the mirror and turned around to face him.. Maan walked to her and turned her around again.. he tied the dori and scraped him fingers on her back gently.. Geet had kept her eyes closed..he turned her around again and told her to open her eyes.
Maan: Geet apne aankhe khole please
Geet opened them up straight away but really slowly...she has been noticing something different in Maan's eyes for the past few months but she never gave this much thought.. Maan picked up the earring and put them on her.. he made her sit on the stool and kneeled down next to her and put the payals on.. she then picked up the mangalusutra and put it around Geet's neck.. he picked up the sinddor box and applied some on her maang..Geet closed her eyes and some fell on her nose.. Maan very gently wiped it from her nose and kissed her eyes.. this was the first time in three years that they had been this close to each other and Maan has kissed her...
Geet was confused whether to open her eyes or not..Maan sat in front of her simply adoring her..he suddenly started smiling...
Maan: (naughtily) Geet agar tumhe dobara kiss chahiye toh bata do na..aisi aankhe baandh karke khun bethi ho?
Geet opened her eyes shocked..she looked everywhere apart from him.. Maan just loved her simplicity and innocence something that he liked about her in their very first meeting.
Geet: (fumbling) nahi..woh main..main
Maan: arre Geet main mazak kar raha the..ab jaldi chalo..humhe late ho rahi hai

Maan and Geet arrived at the dock where the beautifully lighted cruise was waiting for them.. Geet was speechless...she had never seen anything like this before
Cruise Man: welcome maam.. I hope you will love the arrangement sir has specially done for you..
Maan helped Geet onto the cruise and took her for a tour o the cruise.. Geet was over whelmed to see all the arrangements Maan had done for her .. she had completely forgot today was valentine's day.. for the past years Maan and Geet both did not give any importance to this day
They reached the place where the table and food awaits them.. Maan made Geet sit on the chair and sat down opposite her.. they both ate their dinner quietly and stole glances at each other.
Geet: Maan agar aap bura na mane toh kya main aapse kuch pooch sakti hoon?
Maan: Geet tum mujhse kuch bhi pooch skati ho..haq banta hai tumhare
Geet: (speechless when he said haq bante hain tumhare..finally managing to speak) yeh sab kis liye..aaj koi special din hai kya?
Maan: Geet tumhare sawale ke jawab main doonga..par use pelhe will you dance with me?
Geet: (smiling) Maan aap aur dance?
Maan: kyun main dance nahi kar sakta?
Geet: nahi aisi baat nahi..par aapko kabhi aise nahi dahka na..toh bus issliye
Maan: (thinking) agar tumhara jawab haan hai toh tum mujhe hamesha aise hi dekhogi Geet
Geet: Maan kaha ko gaye?
Maan: nahi kuch nahi..halo (he said whilst extending his hand)
Geet happily extended her hand and put it into Maan's hand..they both danced beautifully in the middle of the ocean under the stars and the moon. After they finished dacing they were still very close to each other and Maan spoke:
Maan: Geet main tumse bohot dinon se baat karna chata hoon..magar promise me..iss baat se hamari dosti par koi farq nahi padega?
Geet: (confused) aisi konsi baat hai Maan..
Maan: please Geet promise me
Geet: Maan I promise.. you mean everything to me (indirect confession).. and even I do not want anything to affect this friendship we share.
Maan knelt down on one knee and kept his eyes locked with Geet's..he mustered up the courage to speak his out today and he will not back out. He held her hand and brought out a ring from his pocket with the other hand.
Maan: Happy Valentine's Day Geet..will you give me the honour of celebrating this and every valentine's day with you? Will stand by my side for the rest of your life like you have been doing? Will you give me the encouragement and support like you have been giving? I LOVE YOU GEET...Will you grow old with me?
Geet had tears in her eyes and they made their way down.. she knelt down in front of him and said:
Geet: (crying) itni lambi confession ki kya zaroorat thi.. all you could have said Geet I love you ..
Maan: ( a little confused) Geet tum ro kyun rahi ho.. aur tumhare kehne ki kya matlab?
Geet: matlab yeh Mr Maan Singh Khurana that even I LOVE YOU and was waiting eagerly for you to confess first..and you..you took forever to do it..aur jab kiya..toh itna lamba??
Maan: (smiling) hmm toh yeh baat hai..tum bhi toh keh sakti thi na..
Geet: Maan aap bhi na.. abhi thodi dair pehle maine indirectly keh bhi diya and you did not catch on..
Maan: (trying to remember) kab Geet?
Geet: (getting irritated) jab maine kaha you mea everything to me
Maan: ohh.. but Geet I was scared of confessing as I did not wantto lose your friendship..I have no one in this world apart from you.. I could not lose you at any cost.
Geet: I was also scared about the same Maan.. in these three years you have become my reason to live and I did not want to lose your friendship by expressing my love for you..so that is why I kept quiet.
Maan and Geet have an eye lock..maaahiii... he puts the rig into Geet finger and kisses her hand.. they both stand up and share a long passionate hug.. holding each other as tight as they could. After breaking from the hug they both move even more close and slowly their lips met.. they had a lips were locked together for a long time and after breaking away to catch some air Geet hid her face in Maan's chest and Maan wrapped his arms around her tightly.
PRESENT
Maan: haan Geet..if it was not for Dadima.. I would have been able to find you.. I cannot imagine my life without you even for a second
Geet: (hugging him) I LOVE YOU MAAN
Maan: (hugging her back) I LOVE YOU TOO

9 MONTHS LATER
Maan was impatient waiting outside the labour room in the hospital.. Geet had went into labour in the night and hours had passed since then and still there was no news.. Maan's tension was increasing by every second..the doctor finally came out the room.
Doctor: Congratulation Mr Khurana.. your wife has delievered a very beautiful girl...
Maan: (not letting the doctor finish) thank you sooo much doctor (and he ran past her)
Doctor: ek minute Mr Khurana.. you did not let me finish..
Maan: (tensed) doctor is everything okay..is Geet and the baby okay?
Doctor: yes Mr Khurana.. Mrs Khurana and the baby girl is fine..and so is your baby boy (she said laughing)
Maan: baby boy..you mean...TWINs
Doctor: yes Mr Khurana..twins.. a girl and a boy.. that is why the delivery took more time than expected.
Maan: thank you sooo much doctor (and he ran to Geet's room)

Maan walked into Geet's room where she sat on the bed looking very tired.. Maan sat next to her and gave a hug and a kiss on the lip.
The nurses came in with the babies and handed them over to the proud parents.. Maan was carrying the girl and Geet was carrying the boy. The doctor came in to congratulate the parents once again.
Doctor: toh Mr and Mrs Khurana koi naam socha hain aapne?
Geet: haan..yeh Krish
Maan: aur yeh Neha
Doctor: Krish and Neha...lovely names
Maan/Geet: thank you
Doctor: (smiling)congratulations once again

AFTER 6 YEARS
FRIENDSHIP DAY
Neha: Mom aap every year Dad ko friendship day par yeh yellow rose kyun deti ho? Friendship day toh friends ke liye hota hai..aur aap dono toh husband wife hai..
Geet: haan meri princess..hum husband wife hai..lekin usse pehle hum friends hai
Neha: hmmm

Krish: Dad aap every year Mom ko yeh teddy bears kyun dete ho? Aur woh bhi friendship day par? Aap dono toh husband wife hai na..
Maan: yes champ we are husband wife... but before that we are friends..best friends..
Krish: hmmm
In the evening Krish and Neha were sitting in the hall watching their favourite cartoon and the massive flat screen TV that was on the wall. Maan had gone to the office as an urgent meeting had popped up and Geet was in the kitchen getting dinner ready.
Maan: I'm home
Krish/Neha: Daddy
They both ran as fast as their little legs could take them and Maan bent down and gave them both a tight hug and a kiss on the head.
Maan: Mom kaha hai?
Neha: kitchen mein
Krish: Dad hamari chocolates?
Maan: yeh lo..ab jaldi se apne kamre mein joa..aur kha lo..Mom ko batana mat..
Krish: okay Daddy..you are the best..love you
Maan: love you to champ
Neha: thank you Daddy..lekin main Mom se jhoot nahi bolti
Maan: hmm..Mom ki chamchi yaha aao
Neha: Dad main Mom ki chamchi nahi..Mom ki princess hoon
Maan: haan sorry princess.. dekho aap princess haina..kya aap chahti hain aapko Mom ko gussa aayi?
Neha: nahi Daddy
Maan: toh jaake apne kamre aaram se chocolate kha lo.. just like your brother
Neha: okay Daddy (she said and gave Maan a kiss on the cheek and ran up to her room)
Maan: (self talk) finally..kids are out the way..now where has Geet gone? Hmm kitchen..
He went to his room and picked up the teddy and came back into the kitchen..Geet was soo busy in the kitchen that she did not realise Maan had come in..he wrapped his hands around Geet's waist.
Geet: (shocked) Maan aap bhi na..
Maan: Happy Friendship Day Geet..sorry aaj thoda late hogaya
He gifted her the teddy bear and Geet gave him a million dollar smile and handed him the yellow rose.
Geet: Happy Friendship Day..!!
Maan wrapped his hands around her waist again and Geet arms went around Maan's neck..they came close and close and finally their lips met..after a long kiss they parted and the foreheads were still touching.
Maan: I LOVE YOU
Geet: I LOVE YOU TOO
Krish/Neha: WE LOVE YOU TOO
They both screamed and ran towards Maan and Geet and gave them a hug..Maan picked up Krish and Geet picked up Neha and they shared a tight family hug.
