CHAPTER 2
Heart beating for the one...
All the nurses and ward boys were tried to calm down a highly dishelved Maan with horror on their faces. Nobody could understand why Maan was behaving in such a rampaged state.
He was writhing in pain, screaming for Geet, struggling very hard to get out of the mess. Nobody was letting him go and rescue his Geet. His Geet was dying and here he was, tied up and helpless, unable to move. His heart was bleeding with the shock of the sight he had registered in his mind. He wanted to run and embrace Geet out of danger's eye. He wanted to...otherwise his Geet would go away from him forever.
His hand stretched out in the anticipation of feeling her; he was continuously calling her name. Tears of pain etched on his face. He wasn't bothered about the pain his body was stabbed with. All he cared at the moment was he wanted his Geet back ... at any cost, he wanted her in his arms. He continued to struggle beneath the hands that were trying to control him, not in full conscious ... his mind back at the site of his accident, where his Geet lay without help...
They tried to subdue him but he wouldn't listen. The IV was cutting into his hand but he did not bother about it. All he cared was that his Geet was in pain; she was scared.
Her shocked face was swimming before his eyes. Her eyes were filled with agony. Tears were pouring down relentlessly; pain was etched all over her beautiful face; her voice in fear, yelling for the last time, MAAAN!!!!!!!!!!
Maan couldn't see his Geet like this. He could bear that she was in pain. He couldn't tolerate her eyes pouring. No! No! She shouldn't cry; she deserves to be happy.
Maan wanted to tell his Geet 'daro mat, Geet! Main hoon tumhare saat. Tumhe kuch nahi hoga. Main tumhe kuch nahi hone doonga. Please Geet, please! Daro mat! Rona band karo, please! Please...'
But later realized that his Geet wasn't scared of anything else; she was scared of HIM. She was shouting his name to stop him hurting her. He was the reason for her tears; he was the reason for her agony, for her pain, for her scream. He was the reason!
Maan couldn't tolerate that he had hurt his Geet. He had caused her the pain she was feeling. No! No! Whispering 'Geet', he slumped back on the bed, unconscious, blood dripping from his hand where the IV had cut.

Rajesh was shocked to hear his son calling out a name of a girl so helplessly. He turned to Roshan, who he believed to have full knowledge on this matter, and questioned 'Geet kaun hai?'
Roshan and Dev gulped. They hadn't seen this coming. Roshan faltered for a while, whilst Rajesh stood eying him sternly. Dev finally managed to find his voice and muttered 'woh baba ...woh Geet ... Geet ... Maan bhai Geet ko chahte hai ... '
Rajesh was torn between happiness and shock. Shock to see his son on the hospital bed battling between life and death and happy to find out that his son, too, was in love with someone. He never thought something like that would happen. He stood at the door, watching his son suffer, unable to do anything but pray.
He looked at Dev, his eyes asking million questions ... Dev understood what his father was feeling at the moment. On any other day if he would have come to know his son being in love, he would be the happiest person on earth. But with the fear of losing him forever hanging above his head like a sword, Rajesh couldn't rejoice in the slightest about the dream he had dreamt of becoming a reality. A single tear rolled out of his eye when he all his memories came in front of his eyes like a motion picture.

The doctor turned back after a giving a sedative to Maan. He hadn't foreseen Maan getting consciousness this early. The condition in which he was brought into the hospital hadn't really been a digestible fact. For this, he had to thank the girl who admitted him to the hospital. Even though she herself had been injured, she still managed to save his life. But who was it? There was a strange sense of familiarity in her appearance. He had seen her somewhere. But where, he couldn't remember. Instructing to nurse to monitor his patient, he came out of the ICU to meet Maan's family.
'Doctor ... kaisa hai mera beta ... woh khatre se bahar toh haina?' asked Rajesh while trying to control his tears.
'We can't tell anything right now Mr. Khurana. Hume pata nahi hai ki unke mann mein kya hai ...how is he feeling right now. Kabhi kabhi kisi apghat ke sadme se bahar aana ek insaan keliye bohot mushkil ban jaata hai ... aur jis tareeke se Maan kisi ladki ka naam lerahe hai, usse toh pata chalta hai ki woh abhi bhi shock se bahar nahi aaye hai. Dev, aap toh jaante hai na inn sab ke baare mein. I hope you can understand the situation. '
Dev nodded sadly. He was still unable to comprehend the magnitude of the accident that made a tough Maan Khurana so weak. But later realized the actual gravity. The day was really horrible and with all that happening with his brother, he was sure that his brother wouldn't come out of the shock so soon. He closed his eyes and leaned against the wall, trying to calm himself down while Roshan too stood mute, feeling extremely sorry for his brother.
