CHAPTER 1
Coping with the reality…
'Delhi is prone to accidents. Every day we witness worse of the worst accidents occurring. Many people die and their families are left to endure the pain lifelong. Today again, we witness another horrible accident on the outskirts of Delhi and the victim is none other than Maan Singh Khurana, the son of famous industrialist Rajesh Singh Khurana' the news reporter babbled into the mike, letting the people know about the situation.
'Maan Khurana has been admitted to Panacea Super Specialty Hospital and is said to be battling between life and death. We are not getting any inside information as to how Maan Khurana is right now. Rajesh Singh Khurana has not yet arrived at the hospital. We are waiting for any more information to come. Suhana, over to you. With camera man Hrishi, this is Anjana, CNN IBN,' she concluded.

Beep…beep…beep…
His cell phone sprang into life walking up Rajesh abruptly out of his sleep. He groped for his phone in the dark and looked to see a call from his secretary.
'What the hell, Anita! Is this the time to call?' he barked into the phone.
'I am sorry sir, but there is an emergency, Maan sir has met with a fatal accident…' the secretary muttered urgently into the phone.
For a moment, Rajesh's world came into a standstill as he realized the situation and without thinking, he ran out of the room in his pajamas and barked at the driver to take out the car whilst noting down the name of the hospital his son was admitted in.

Roshan and Dev came running into the hospital, both panting for breaths and looking extremely confused. Everything was alright until Roshan received a phone call stating Maan had met with an accident.
They saw the doctor coming out an ICU and hurried to him.
'Doctor…' muttered Roshan.
'Are you family of Mr. Maan Khurana?' the doctor asked while checking some reports.
'Yes…how is he?'
'I cannot tell anything right now. He is in a critical condition. Was he drunk?' the doctor asked suspiciously.
'No doc…he left drinking long back' Roshan answered taking Dev by surprise.
'The accident was quite scary, I believe. His condition when he was brought to the hospital was really pathetic. Agar zinda bach gaye toh lucky hai woh. Bohot bura haal hua hai unka. I just can't say anything right now' the doctor said, sadly.
'Aur Geet?' asked Dev, suddenly remembering Geet being with Maan.
'Kaun Geet?' the doctor asked back.
'What is this doctor…aap toh aise pooch rahe hai jaise aapko pata hi nahi…Geet Maan bhai ke saat thi toh agar accident hua hai toh hospital mein hi hogi na…' said Dev, slightly rising up in his temper.
'One moment, kahi aap uss ladki ki toh baat nahi kar rahe jisne Maan Khurana ko yaha admit kiya? She was injured herself lekin treatment nahi liya usne. Chali hayi Maan ko yaha admit karke…' the doctor replied remembering the girl.
'Kaha gayi?' asked Dev, anxious, his voice loud.
'Pata nahi…hume kaise pata hoga…we were treating the emergency and she went away. Please don't get so angry on us' the doctor said sternly and Roshan kept a calming hand on Dev.
Just then, they could see their dad, Rajesh Khurana, rushing into the hospital in his pajamas and looking extremely tense. As soon as he approached them, he burst out 'kya hua? Maan kaha hai? Is he alright?'
But before the doctor could answer his question, a scream rent the air, shattering the silence of the hospital…
'GEEET!!!!'
And a nurse came sprinting out of the intensive care unit, muttering 'Sir, woh Mr. Khurana…' and all of them hurried towards the ICU.
