As a couple of days passed by Maan realized that he truly loved Geet. He felt ashamed of what he did, though his ego still came in the way of accepting the fact that what he did was out rightly horrible and atrocious. His attitude said she deserved it, she had slapped him while his heart protested you loved her, see what you did you completely ruined her. Not able to take his heart's blames he left to find out about Geet's whereabouts, not that he was sure as to what he would say but he felt an urgent need to find her.

He got to know that Geet's family had disowned her that very day and most probably killed her in the name of family honor. He felt the ground underneath his feet collapse, they killed her. His conscious mocked at him so now you got your revenge, you wanted to destroy her right na, see you succeeded, not only did you ruin her image but you got her killed altogether.

Maan felt the first prang of guilt as he fell on his knees not able to digest the truth that they killed her because of his arrogance, because of his blind hatred he crushed his love with his own hands. A tear escaped his eye realizing for the first time that his cheap, pervert, horrendous act had such a dreadful result.

His heart cursed him so much that in a week moment he wanted to kill himself when he heard Geet's mocking voice "So, you want the easy way out… Maan Singh Khurana is a bloody coward… he doesn't even have the guts to repent his sins." Maan threw away the knife with which he was about to slit his wrists and roared in anger "I am no coward" and he approached Geet but her image vanished. Another tear escape his eye as he realized that she would never ever come back, he murdered her. But that day he pledged that he would live each and every day as a dead man and make himself suffer every night till he bid good bye to this world.

He became a complete terror in office, no mistake was tolerated, neither his own (not that he ever committed any mistake in work). He left all his bad habits, he didn't even look at any girl since then. He would work day in and day out trying to escape his guilt during the day while he hit his gym to punish himself at night.

He would start off with very vigorous Tai-Chai till each and every muscle in his body screamed in pain. He kept on fastening his actions, punches, kicks ripping the air despite the fact that his body refused to even move.

But all he heard was her mocking at him, making fun of his horrendous act, blaming him for her death and he broke a glass slab not able to bear her accuses. Blood gushed out of his hand but little did he know and he kept on breaking glass slabs after glass slabs trying desperately to soothe his guilty heart. This became his daily routine, he would torture himself till he almost fainted before returning to his room limping, literally dragging his abused and bleeding body before collapsing out of fatigue.

Some days his heart would ache so much that he would break tube lights and glass slabs on his chest, sometimes whipping himself, sometimes belting himself, but nothing soothed his scared soul which pronounced him guilty every second he was awake. It was as if he had pledged to make himself bleed a drop of blood each and every second that he lived cursing his very existence on Earth repenting his horrible deeds, dying in remorse.
