Firstly Rehan and Geet truly did trust each other but every relationship has its weak point and Maan utilized that. Rehan would have believed Geet if it hadn't been for his own father's comments.

I understand your POV but I have a differing opinion. I think people are more than capable of destroying the very person they love due to the turbulence of emotions. A lot of people loss rational thinking while in love and when they are betrayed.

And destroying someone for love is worse then destroying them for revenge because it insults that very love. People use love as an excuse for acts that they wouldn't do otherwise.
