Sweet people, I did something really crazy yesterday... totally spontaneous... with the help of my brother. I am from UK and I was running around all over London and surrounding area, looking for the correct Star TV office/department, where I could speak to someone regarding our show. I finally managed to speak to someone who is in a high rank division (Executive type). Unfortunately, I cannot reveal any names.
The gentleman I spoke to, upon asking whether Geet is coming to an end, he flat out rejected saying it is not true; as far as he is aware, Geet is not ending. When I mentioned to him that Facebook and the news channels are filled with "news" saying that Geet's last telecast date is 16th December, he said those are all rumors and not to believe in anything until Star themselves publishes articles on their website. He again reiterated that Geet is not ending.
I then told him that if there were such agenda (of ending Geet by the channel) going on inside, which we viewers are currently unaware of, then I am making the request, on behalf of so many Geet fans all over the world, to please not end Geet and move it to Star Desh and give the programme a proper platform that our show deserves. The gentleman, again told me that he, alongside his team, are well aware of the popularity this show, despite it's low trp. As far as he knows the decision to continue the programme is in discussion, what would be helpful from us fans is feedbacks and lots of it. He said the power to change lies in the hands of the fans and Star would never disappoint their fans.
Although that above line sounded like something a typical salesman would say, to please the customers. So I suggest we don't melt away with all the lovey dovey talk they give us - instead take the information and get our job done - which is saving the show. They want feedback, then feedbacks is what they are gonna get and lots and lots of it. I know the indya.com site is a major focus. I was also wondering if Geet fans in UK/US and everywhere else, could also go to the official star tv website and use the feedback section right at the bottom of the page, to let them know what we want. For example, this is the Star TV official UK website:

Right at the bottom is the feedback tab. Click it and another window pops up. Where it says "I want to talk about", from the drop down menu, chose "Star Channels on TV" and the the next column "Types of Feedback", again from the drop down menu, chose "suggestion" - because right now we're not going to criticise nor complain! If a section of us fans do this while the rest of us carries on with bombarding all the major facebook pages of the channel and makers with the criticism, like we're doing now!
Going back to the conversation with the gentleman from Star, I asked him if Star One really is going through a revamp and he said that it is. The revamp should take place next month and and we should be seeing the adverts possibly from towards the end of December. I asked him if Geet will continue on Star Desh and he said again it is in discussion with the specific departments and a decision will be made soon. I guess that means we should continue to scream from the top of our lungs that we want Geet on Star Desh, while this meeting is going on as it'll help make the decision go on our favour!
Although he looked like an impatient person, he was kind enough to spare me with 15mins to talk properly and explain what is going on. So that was the more or less conversation we had. I don't know if I could have taken this big step had if my brother not come with me and he doesn't even watch the show!
Also after speaking to the gentleman, I got a few impressions which I would like to share with you. I got the feeling that back in September/October, when the extension news came out, I think Geet got an extension till 16th December... which is why the Geet admins said the same... there seems to be a communication gap between the makers and the channel, which could be the reason why Noel, Swati, Nissar (basically all the good ones) left. So with the revamp of Star One, the team of Star One will probably go through a revamp too... which means it could build for a better relationship between the makers and the channel and if that happens, then we just might have our great team back on our show... but of course for that we need our show to stay!
Again, this is all just speculations and assumptions so let us not concentrate on that.
At the end of it, whether the makers and channel are best friends or not is none of our concern. What concerns is what we do to save our show.
Furthermore, just before leaving I asked the gentleman about the possibility of Geet being released on DVD and whether he was aware of the email we sent. He confirmed that he is aware and those details of ours, has been passed on to the Star Sales department where it is in discussion with them. They are expecting to move things along on this matter, next year. I am assuming after the channel revamp happened and the channel settles down alittle, this topic will be bought up. In the meantime we need to continue showing this unity and keep showing our interest of what we want Geet to achieve - for it to continue on Star Desh and be the first Indian serial to release on DVD
