@Jyo: The problem here is that MP seems to think in a linear way, when it comes to story rather than being able to branch the story or characters out in various directions and dimensions.
He did this with NT (SN) as well. She did the same thing over and over again, that is make Geet look bad in front of Maan until she took it too far, was outsmarted by Geet and put in jail. There was no dimension to the character.
Just think, how many times did we see her make Geet look bad, Maan shouts at Geet and tells her she is useless and then finds out the truth and feels guilty.
The only reason we still love that track is because SN was really good and it brought some much needed drama. But they never used her wisely to really take the story forward, especially the Dev-Nano part of it. There were hints at the beginning of the track when Dev almost confessed to Nano but it was never played out the way it should have been.
Similarly here, we are getting the same slightly tweaked scenario over and over of the stalker cornering Geet when Maan is away and scaring the living daylights out of her. I just hope they dont go the NT way and make him do this again and again just until he is caught by MSK. I want to see this track explored in many different directions!
At some point in a track, MP stops putting effort into a character and the story operating on multiple levels and invests all his "creativity" into one track at a time which is what slowed down the show so much, plus his choice of tracks at most times was just 🤢. For example in Amritsar, the Lucky-Preeto and Nandini-Daman tracks could have easily happened simultaneously, been much more exciting and not such a huge waste of time. BUT MP chose to extend each of these until we were crying bloody murder.
In contrast if you look at just that short period when Barry was writing the BR track, there were so many connections and everyone was linked to at least 2 ongoing stories. Take our most despised Nando for example, she was having her budding romance with Dev, looking for Geet and Maan, being hated by Pammi and getting hints of Dev's past. Maan had his track with Geet, Pammi stopping him from working and a possible MU with Dev as he was running KC.
This is what MP's writing lacks, dimension and complexity. The story should be a web, not a single, straight line.
