Z, yet another reason I loved the BR track. Even though the old KM was gone, I didn't feel it so keenly because the little house in Rohtak had the feel of it, both the way it looked with the same white stone used for the exterior and the history the story of Maan's dadaji created behind it. That felt like home the minute I saw it!
The new tacky KM actually kind of suited Pammi and provided an antithesis to dadaji's house in Rohtak, which was simple and classy. Barry made the lack of the original set work there.
That track definitely had the aesthetic appeal that I love seeing on the show, of course with MG at dadaji's house and even though KM was the same set they are using now, it wasn't lit as brightly, which greatly reduced its tackiness and increased the sense of foreboding with Pammi around. I guess they could save the money otherwise spent on Mama, who probably doesn't come cheap, Preeto and even Pinky on the sets and costumes, while hiring only one new regular, Pammi.
The ML track from the beginning has had some blaring issues, production-wise which were concealed for a while but came to the fore when the story stagnated. Geet never wears her nightdresses anymore, one day on the show is stretched over days and sometimes weeks (Teej was 10-12 days long) where the leads are wearing the same clothes, don't even get me started on all the new clothes Nando got, even on the same set, they keep changing the location and look of MG's room (the room where they met yesterday before she went to office was totally different from the one they have been showing).
I don't know what is going on with the financial aspect of the show, if the issues deal with lack of resources or bad allocation, but even the production value of the Amritsar track was much higher than this. AND we got to see Maan shirtless all the time! WHY is that not happening anymore???
The big overarching problem I see with MP is that while Ved Raj created the entirely pesky AA, they were an ADDITION to the existing cast. On the other hand, MP scrapped the existing cast and created his own mediocre one, giving it way too much importance. Annie and Arjun interacted with the existing cast, the IP clowns worked with AA and there was continuity at least in the parallel track. AA were a parallel track, not a whole new story with new characters. I mean MP is only even keeping Maan and Geet because the story is called Geet. Otherwise he would have probably gotten rid of them like he has gotten rid of all the office staff and even Dadi, one of the most pivotal characters of the show! The PH needs to get rid of him if they are at all serious about rising TRPs, which it looks like they are not, to be frank.
