I agree especially with the point you made about this Geet whose ultimate aim in life is a trip to Mumbai and new clothes for the wedding, as opposed to the post-Amritsar Geet who, without a word, stood by her husband, accepted a life of relative austerity and appreciated the value of a mere Rs. 50 earned by her husband through sheer manual labour.
There is a saying in Hindi, doodh ka jala chaach bhi phoonk phoonk ke peeta hai.
So I find it difficult to accept Geet when she does her pendulum act on an hourly basis, on a morning/evening basis, on a day to day basis.
One minute she is understanding the situation, the next minute she also has ML.
I hate the writer, his assistant and his pets for turning my favourite character into this. If on any day I have the misfortune of coming across these characters even if I am 80, I will definitely remember to give them a piece of my mind. That is a promise I have made to myself. I will forget about my usual real-life diplomacy of live and let live and saying the right thing. š But I don't think I will ever have a chance of crossing their paths. But never say never. š š
Bye again, see you,
