I know the title seems a little too strong for the content i am going to put in here, but i am beginning to wonder if all is well with the way the story is going forward...

As an audience the entire memory loss promo totally shook me up, since i felt there was going to be something substantial coming our way.. and the way the entire Khurana Constructions being taken over, Maan distraught, totally frustrated, yet not losing hope, and wanting to spring back .. gave enough fodder to my brain to think they were headed the meaningful way finally .. however, what i have witnessed over the last 12 odd days has really disappointed me... we get to see occasional power packed performances by the leads and the other actors here and there, but its like sand in your fist, you open your hands and there is nothing to hold ..

i was wanting to come back and write how the very inception of the track had intrigued me, and how a man like Maan Singh Khurana would relive that one year of his life, now, in the absence of Geet, though she was actually in front of him .. Pammi was made to be the evil inferiority complexed mother, who wanted to secure her little sons future, in the process jeopardizing another s...the whole idea of docile Mummy turning evil was too much of a shock for me to take at first, but i thought, she may have had it in her all this while .. she just didnt find an outlet, and Maan being away from the scene did give her enough time to lay her plans out and execute them, though not in a smart way !! Fine, fiction it is, i let it pass ... i was expecting to see a Kaykeyi type mother, who was right in her place, insecure for her son, and gradually turning a blind eye to another, as a logical way of doing it, but ofcourse, no one wanted to revisit Ramayan with so many other shows perhaps threading a similar path .. however, i am now beginning to wonder, after last night, why all the scenes right from Maan being kidnapped to, escaping to, Pammi being careless about the whole thing, to Geet landing up for Maan and then signing the papers and asking for Maan in return were wrapped up in a matter of two episodes as though the leads had a plane to catch to Toronto to watch the awards function being advertised on TV ??

Some brilliant dialogues were given to Geet, like "mere Maan ki hisaab toh Babaji bhi nahi laga sakte" and her readily willing to risk her life for him... i felt she was merely saying the lines, cos she had to say them... i didnt for a second feel she meant them...i couldnt connect to it from my soul the way generally do with GHSP ... and then what followed was a ridiculous set of events like Dev taking the bullet for Geet and easing himself off the guilt of having wronged her, for the millionth time... Will someone tell this man, neither his mother nor his wife had planned out Sperm Sharing Gesture as a part of their entire scheme of things? Why does he justify his actions at every given point and blame the women involved? Fine, a dying man never lies .. and this was his perhaps frustrated last attempt ..!! and looks like he very well succeeded...

I was disappointed at the after events, the whole divine intervention, and Babaji calling Maan to his door step and Geet landing there as well, was all well thought in the head, but didnt come across heart touchingly on screen... This is the same Maan and Geet, whose destiny Babaji had written as one, in a Gurudwar like this a while ago, where both of them were clueless as to what was to happen to their life ahead ... yes life has come a full circle in a way, but why is it that this journey doesnt evoke the same enthusiasm as it did a year ago? My heart goes out to Maan cos of Gurmeets rocking performance...I feel even a lucky is not wasted ... But how has dadi ma sprung back to life in a couple of hours after being on sedatives for days together? Why did Geet listen to Dev when he told her he would be okay and just left? Why wasnt it Geet who spotted Maan in the Gurudwaar ?

If the precap aint a dream, then why was there so much ado about the entire ML track? Are things now going to get better? So was all that was promoted until today just a trailer and the story is yet to begin? If that is the case, i was i briefed about it so much in advance? Why did Pammi come and go? why did geet not think before signing the papers not move me the way it should have and why were the most emotional high points on the show dealt with so lightly?

I wonder am i the only one that feels this way, or i have company?

To add to all this there are rumors floating around the place about the show wrapping up ...with so much dissatisfaction in the heart, why would one not to believe them?

Nihu, Yes the promo was definitely captivating. I'm still hoping Geet was day-dreaming in the precap. Perhaps they'll continue to stay true to the promo and unveil the drama slowly?...I remember reading that there are many twists to come... -waiting patiently for that!

One thing that I found disappointing, was the lack of story for the previous promo. The one where Maan and Geet are shown having differences, what happened to that?... Anyhow that's over and done with, I'm anticipating CV's not letting us down this time...😕

Dear... loved reading ur post... very well put out and i believe that albeit the beginning of the adaptation of Ramayana in Geet was bang on.. i feel the follow thru hasnt been that great...! They began too many tracks simultaenously...
--Maan renouncing his rights... aka Ramayan
--Maan being taunted at for being jobless... slowly affecting his ego.. aka Sathiya
--Maan hit with a rod n Memory Loss.
The CVs had good tracks.. if only they hadnt clubbed it n munched n bunched it... the effect wuld have been far better n impactful.. !!
The dialogues past few days have been spot on... but even i agree that the journey from Maneet renouncing all to Maneet reunion (albeit ML) is a tad too fast..!!
However having said that i still wuld not like to believe that the show is going off given star ones official position...aur hum log to hain hi.. we will fight this tooth n nail..!! Maneet rock.. GHSP rocks more!! <3

The fact that i've been changing channels quite frequently these days might tell you a thing or two!

You mentioned the plane to Toronto...my metaphor was the Rajadhani Express.

I'm still reeling at the jet speed with which everything whizzed past my ears.

Maybe that's why it didn't touch that deeply...the only scene I liked was when Geet saw the chair on which Maan had been tied and she cried while touching it..that brought tears to my eyes which has never happened to me before on Geet!

Another thing is that we expected Pammi to be a strong antagonist to Maan...that ended on a damp squib...that was unexpected..we felt we'd see Maaneet fighting it out together and winning...that didn't happen either!

A lot of disappoints as far as the story line is concerned..but I have to say the leads are giving stellar performances.

And let's hope they keep the ML..and weave a poignant story around it..would be the best swan song for the show.

PS: Loved the way you expressed yourself!👏

The pace is fast I agree. I would imagine Pammi was introduced for the memory loss track alone as well as to fortify Dev's redemption track. A pint of blood for his bro and a bullet for his bhabhi, yes bhabhi. So, anyway, (mostly) partial amnesia is on the way and I'd assume this is their way of introducing a fresh start on romance. They know as much as we do that Maaneet together and romance is what GHSP's USP has been. Will move towards that for sure.

Channel's position to mutiple mudslinging: " We have said the truth on our Official walls. Geet will not end in September. That is as credible as it gets. If we go back on that, then Star ONE as a channel loses credibility. TRUST US. "
I trust them. Period. Baaki jo hoga dekha jayega.
Peace.
EDIT: P.S--- > Those Overseas, Use Star Player as much as you can, to view the show than stray links. Though they will NOT contribute to the TRPs, the HITS to the site and each video will assist in media selling, that is in getting ads and revenue for the channel via the show. Those who see online via youtube or other sites for whatever reasons, use STARPLAYER. Repeats on Star Player too. And if nothing, just click those vids for the fun of it! 0.3 TRPs aren't such a happy thought even post September.

Thank you so much for writing such a thought-provoking post. Your post was spot on and really articulated the underlying sense of disappointment I have been feeling, for the past week, though I have been trying to deny it. I was extremely excited about the bankruptcy track and Maan and Geet living together in their little, out-of-the-way house, and getting back on their feet, with Pammi trying to thwart them at every step. I did feel that part of the story could have been lengthened as we got some wonderful moments from it (Jul. 7th became one of my favorite episodes!). I was also looking forward to the clash of the egos/battle of the sexes/Saathiya idea but it never materialised.

In one way I understand why they avoided the Saathiya track. When Maan and Geet are fighting, fans also take sides, fight and bash which ever character they sympathise less with. However, I do think this could have been handled better and we could have at least gotten another week of Geet teaching, them suffering taunts, Maan getting angry and them fighting, before we had the mature speech from Maan of Monday's episode (I loved this, but can't deny that it shoved many of the interesting issues they were bringing out under the rug). There was a whole other story developing there, with Geet getting a salary for teaching and Maan getting offered the Munshi job, that was left in the lurch. Part of me is still thinking, what about those children she was supposed to be teaching? I do hope they revisit these bits of the story (and the new house; I like that set much better than the new KM), though it is unlikely.

According to me, the show is based on two things, the running plot and those crystalised Maan-Geet moments. They don't even necessarily have to involve Maan and Geet in the same frame, just poignant moments, like the part where Geet touched the chair Maan was on (as pippa mentioned), which there were too few of. Neglecting either of these elements for too many episodes at a time is what, according to me, causes the show to feel incomplete. The Amritsar track had the moments but not the ongoing plot, and this week they had a fast moving plot but no space to allow the audience to sympathise with the characters.

Finally, and thank you if you have read this far, I still have hopes for the memory loss track. Maybe they rushed the back-story to really get into the memory loss and GC himself said that his character will have interesting shades now, so I am trying desperately to stay optimistic. Hopefully they manage to have both a strong plot AND drawn-out, touching moments between the characters in equal balance, to create the tension/romance we so want to see.

I am sorry but I am unable to agree with you.

This is your opinion and you are entitled to it. 😳

Where did they say they were going to follow the saathiya track? How do we know the saathiya track would have worked in the current scenario? The truth of the matter is you need high drama in order to rake in the TRPs. The TRPs from last week where they were executing the saathiya track were still 0.3. If we want the show to stay on the air, the TRPs have to rise. That was not going to happen with that track and I guess the lukewarm response of the audience that week proved it. This may be the kind of stuff we may want to see but unfortunately this is not the kind of stuff the majority of the ladies who watch shows and provide TRPs want to see.

So they smartly changed the storyline. The past 4 days have been beyond gripping. Maan's kidnapping and torture 😭, Geet's helplessness 😭, Pammi's actions, and most of all the twists provided lots of shock value 😲, tears 😭 and thereby TRPs. My mom and aunts are watching again . No one knows what is going to happen next and this suspense is good for the show.

This show is today where it is because of the interference of the fans . Starting from when the IP track was trashed because of fan feedback to the whole Dev forgiveness fiasco, we have never supported the team. The team needs our support now.

How many of you have noticed that the screenplay was gripping and the execution was superb 👏 👏 👏. The story itself had gone back to its roots with Barry at the helm. 👍🏼. This is a man who knows the characters in and out and the characters of Maan and Geet are safe in his hands. Why should the story follow the route you want it to? Where is the fun in that? They should keep you guessing which is what they have been successful in doing. 👏 👏 👏

A story to me means a plot where there is some surprise. Because that is how life is full of surprises - Isaac Singer

Next the useless birdies and worthless articles have created a negative atmosphere. You were all expecting the saathiya track because the birdies and the articles said so. And we know how often they have been wrong.

At this point, if we love the show, we need to support the show. Lets offer positive feedback BUT LET US NOT DO WHAT FANS DID BEFORE AND SABOTAGE A TRACK BEFORE IT STARTS. Let us also not expect the CVs to follow the beaten track and please can we let them explore this track the way they want them to. 😳 If we want to save our favorite show we have to support the team.
Above all I trust Barry because he knows Maan and Geet. I am sure they have something awesome in store for us.

Sorry if I have offended anyone
Thanks
Jhan

Hi Girl .. firstly thanks ... for the kind words ...😛 and i agree with most of the things you have cleary pointed out and mentioned below ... i also would have loved it had they taken one step at a time and not made a hotch potch of the entire track ... well, i am not someone who would like to say openly say the show would end or not, but would surely like to add, that i have always believed, its better to end a tale while there is still a story to tell and there is no love lost !!😊

I think its too early to comment on the track because its just started and basically its the misleading articles which sort of forced many viewers to assume that mayb it will b a Saathiya track or a bankruptcy track but the CVs never promised anything like that ...so mayb the whole purpose of making MSK loose everything was a build up to the Memory loss track only ...🤔...
I feel this whole week execution and direction hv been top-notch and all the episodes touched me ...There hv been lots of symbolisms used as well from Gurdwara connection to MSK seeing his reflection in mud-water post Memory loss to Satnaam-Waheguru background music to Mata ka trishul ...All these touches had gone missing during Amritsar track but I see them back now ..👍🏼
The whole struggle of MSK trying to reach the Gurdwara deeply touched me...Also the new director brough our old Geet back in character
And coming to the whole purpose of the track ..I feel we need to wait and watch for it because the track is yet to start😳
Coming to the build-up to the Memory-loss track ,I did like the fast pace used in this case rather than a cliched hit and miss type scenarios ...
So all said and done I think I m looking forward to this track and the precap is of course a dream which over the time Geet will make reality because its the test of her love and patience here😳
