I know Jyo... but in the absence of ANY other such large scale monitoring, this serves as the best currency... they are trying to iron out the discrepencies by hugely increasing the coverage - both georgraphically and in terms of numbers... but still i agree...

Having said that, dont think Geet's continuous low TRPs can be blamed on the system alone... the same system got it TRPs of 1.5 (I know i know , at the start of the Outhouse thing)... and for the longest time it kept wavering between 0.8 to 1.1...

if today it is stuck at 0.4, 0.5 then it is something larger... people in droves have been disappointed and left... however the beginning of a good track and it will start picking up, it did a bit.. .initial Balwant days

As in the case of duckworth lewis, this is the best methof available!!

But trust me it isnt that bad... TAM is an independet and impartial agency whose very revenue is dependednt on their IMPARTIALITY... oetherwise one channel will accuse another and one PH will accuse another...

So PH cant BUY peoplemeters and instal it... it is a closely guarded secret...if channels or PH have been in the business for a long time, they can figure out perhaps better... buyt this is an advantage anyone can gain

hmmm...peoplemeter...i wonder who the target audience is?...we can probably find out by the commercials that run during ghsp...if they are a public company...we can find information on demographics...and where the largest sector of people who fill that demographic live in india...

If that's the case then it is not fair...I mean if only a powerful PH can affect the ratings, then that would not be fair to a good show. Very weird way of showing popularity.
