I'm a bit a surprised by the reaction over here. I thought it was a very beautiful episode! Maneet together after a long time..Just now I wrote my thots in another post ..pasting it

After a long time saw Maneet in one frame with so much of love and passion! It was truly a beautiful and mesmerizing episode. I had a sweet smile on my face when the episode ended just as I finish a MB story( I do read MB stories once in a while!!)

I loved the whole idea of narrating the letter. GC was awesome and DD too! Some of the scenes are too good ..Maan lying on Geet's lap, his explanation of what happens to him when he sees Geet's tears. I always felt he is terribly moved whenever he sees her in tears. Earlier it used to be a very volatile reaction but reaction nevertheless right from day one!

His nudging of Geet's ears was very romantic and sensuous but the pigeon on shoulder was bit too much. πŸ˜† Overall the whole scene had a dreamy quality which is quite apt as it was Geet's imagination! And I must say behind the bubbly appearance Geet is a super-romantic just like many of us .. who on the outer surface don't show much but deep inside have romantic fantasies!

In the end, loved the way Geet flung herself to Maan and hugged him. And Maan's expressions were superb ..little surprise, little tears and lots of love! Ohhh so romantic!!!!!😍

I think regarding mushiness, yeah it was little over the top, but we should not forget that it is not reality it is somebody's imagination. The words are also a bit over the top, but then again when you write, you write more poetically than when you are having one to one conversation! I am sure they will portray love differently when it is reality! Then it will be little spicy not sugary all the way! 😊

PS. I had not seen any promos or segments so had no clue about the impending episode .. I guess that's why liked it so much!😊
______________________________________________________________________

I am pleased to read that at least u liked the episode...I too was surprised when i read all the replies in this post...my belief is that these people are still comparing the current episodes with the old ones...unless we stop making these comparisons we will always find flaws with the episodes...one important thing to remeber is that the romance of today cannot be the same as the romance of those days...in the old episodes we saw that Maneet were just bumping into each other...then we saw their attraction towards each other...which gradually developed into deep love...romance in those stages of togetherness will definitely be different from romance after marriage and above all after a major MU which could have separated them for good...how can the creatives recreate the old romance when Maneet are now married????

If such romance was to be shown the marriage and MC should not have been shown...I think its only fair to the creatives that we viewers should accept that this is a new stage in Maneet's life and proceed from there instead of asking to be taken pack into the past...

Sorry if I have offended anyone...

Dear - thank you for speading positivity. We can all use some right about now!
Chalo let's put all the comparisons aside for now! Because I know that even the episodes from last year that we are claiming as magical and amazing - were closely scrutinized then. There will always be a group of people who will criticize a seemingly beautiful scene. Everyone should already be used to it by now.
So let me clarify - I thought the episode was beautiful too! Again, I think you too didn't read my post in its entirety. Because I open heartedly talk about what I loved about the episode. Along with some things that didn't touch me. You are right, may be my expectations were high. But not because I was comparing with the old episodes. Comparison came later. I was disappointed because I didn't see Geet's heart's reflection mirroring anywhere in the episode, except expressing that she loves him. The underlying issues are not discussed here at all... chalo thik hai. I will wait for it today. And if it doesn't come, I shall be disappointed again. But I will refrain from spreading negativity on the thread!
One more thing - the issue here is not even about new romance vs old and the difference of it. the romance here was BEAUTIFUL!! It just felt out of place, thus losing its magic!
No offense taken. Feel free to speak your mind here!

hey,

brilliant post...though i beg to differ...

i loved the episode...the fact that Maan poured out his heart which he generally doesnt is what i thought made geet's heart leap...

I loved the way he expressed his need and everything about the episode was perfect...i have watched it 5 times already...the expression, the direction etc...

ya but i can never disagree to the fact that the reunion will not hold its importance till the day geet doesnt speak her reasons out...

its was a brilliant episode but somewhere it will become meaningless if geet become her bubbly back and doesnt apologise...

we can just hope that they listen to our pleas...otherwise another track closed without a proper conclusion and satisfactory result...

@ dtri - nice analysis. enjoyed your writing as well as the episode.

But felt the episode was a little incomplete. Maybe it will get completed today, just maybe. of course expectations are ground high though Maaneet in one frame always rock i guess.

I agree with your very much. I think if this episode wasn't after so much stretch of the whole problem we all would have enjoyed it. But because the letter said lot of the same things we had heard over and over it didn't have same effect. Also, I thought there should have been something more meaningful...I mean didn't Maan say all the things wrote in letter little by little everyday he has been in front of Geet in Amritsar? TO how come now it should have a complete bigger meaning!

Agreed...everything was perfect...link pink suite of Geet to see through white shirt of Maan..to ambiance...lighting...voice...direction (I do agree about the too close ups of lips lol)...bas the effect that it should have left with was different. AND the problem is THEY ARE NEVER GOING TO SHOW MAANEET HAVING CLEARED THEIR MU!!! As Geet already told le chalo mujhe ghar! And that just makes me sad.

The problem is...previously when they were apart...There was some valid reason...But now...the reason was not as good as before...so it didnt have that much of an impact...

Some of the lines in their individuality were simply brilliant! I am just upset because the posititioning of this episode seems out of flow! We would have wanted to see Geet talk her heart out! If all of these dialogues were intermingled with hers, it would have been totally outworldly! But all geet said was MAAN!!!
I loved the episode technically. But I failed to see the magic! You are right - my expectations were too high and it fell short! May be that's it! so I went back and watched it a couple of more times. Same reaction!!

Yeah I read your post and that is why I'm a bit surprised, because one would not remember all the dialogues and put it down in writing unless moved by the episode! I mean I liked the episode but still don't remember half the dialogues and the day I'll remember all the dialogues, I think I'll describe the episode in superlatives!!

Also when I went thru yr scene by scene account, it's mostly praises so was just wondering about the mediocre tag, logically if we think, if you score more than 80% you get grade A, definitely not mediocrity!!

Many a times the episode become magical, memorable after a certain time period, I won't be surprised if this episode will be fondly remembered one month later! Anyways this is my way of thinking, no offence meant. 😊

very gud post & agree with U ...

& I was feeling that I was the only one who did not like the letter ...
to know what the letter said & not to miss anything & to stay connected from 1 line of the letter to the other line ... i saw the episode 5 timesπŸ˜†
& after some time ... i lost myslef could not remember what were the starting lines & from where astronomy & botony came into picture πŸ˜†... & where the letter was going ... i did not feel the connection ...
I was expecting more from the letter ... & even yesterday's episode ... I felt some thing was missing ...
these 2 episodes were not upto my expectations at all & I did not feel any sort of magic ...
GC & DD did a great job no doubt on that ... inspite of DD not given any dialogues in the letter episode ... she gave the best that day ... like U said ... I totally agree with U ...
i still cannot forgive the cv's ... I am still mad at them ...
I think i am being over dramatic ... & expecting too much from the cv's who just know how to mess up the show ... but can't justify their actions & words in later episodes ... which we expected ... & this time they seriously fell flat ...
looks like they are more eager for the next track with devil ... that they have not given proper make up scene to maan & geet ...
I am disappointed with the cv's ... not at all happy

I liked the letter episode but not loved it. It was definitely a start in the right direction to make up for the things that went wrong, but I too felt that it was a little too mushy and OTT but we were all dying to see Maaneet together that we all eagerly lapped it up.
Like you I too was waiting for Maan and Geet to pour their hearts out in terms of their feelings, their insecurities and the actual reason for the MU and Geet's reasoning for not forgiving Maan but was dissapointed on that front, it did start to happen in yesterdays episode but only so, there was no depth to it, it should have been explored more deeply.
What made it good for me was GC & DD's acting. They were amazing, their expressions were mindblowing, their passion was very obvious and loved their hug and how they kept clinging to each other.
I would have liked to see a Makeup kissπŸ˜† (I have a one track mind on this πŸ˜‰). No married couple will make up after such a big fight and separation and not kiss and makeup πŸ˜†
On a serious note it seems that the CV's have taken us for granted. They keep throwing stupid tracks and crappy stuff and us and we get mad but patiently or sometimes impatiently wait for things to get better and then they throw crumbs at us and because we are all so starved we happily settle for it πŸ˜•
I loved your writing and your analyis, your comments are great and i found myself agreeing on some points, smiling at some and laughing hilariously at a few of them.😊

Anamika dear - you just said everything I have been feeling. I thought the episode was technically brilliant. I did feel maan's dialogues were a tad too much but that's not even an issue here. The issue is that Geet didn't say a word and they discussed nothing about the actual MU itself. Why isn't Geet made to apologize? Well - your last line said it. They have absolutely NO plans on redeeming Geet's character! So we better stop expecting it. 😭

Indeed. I felt they closed the issue without dealing with the actual MU! Oh well, one of my friends told me yesterday, "the day Geet lost her baby, forgave Dev and decided to move on with Maan for a new life, and later left him too, Geet's journey was over. She truly became parayee from all. Everything that connected us to her was because of the baby and the trauma Dev put her thru. When she herself moved on from both, us viewers should too. We should now watch this as a brand new chapter of Geet's life and not try to connect it with her past life!"
So I have accepted that truth for myself and treating the show as a show now instead of it being an integral part of my life and my obsession.
