She ran to him the moment she saw his bleeding head break through the windshield. She had wanted him to leave her alone, to go away, to forget about their love and marriage. And he had only taken a step away to comply with her command. Little did she know going far could be this far. She had watched him get into the car to drive off, probably to some jungle for camping. She wanted to see him one last time before he left, but she didn't know this last time would be not just for her, but for everyone else. No sooner her got into the car, it had collided with a truck coming speedily in his direction. She saw it coming, but before she could react, the damage was done. Before she could reflect what she really wanted, he had unknowingly granted her her wish.

With blood stains all over her dress, she around in the hospital frantically to find a doctor. She wants him cured, she wants him healthy, she wants him....back. Sitting outside the OT, all she can think of is her behavior towards him - how she had reacted to all his attempts to win her back, how she had spoken of their love gone dead. Not wasting a minute to take a breather, she incessantly prays for his well being. She goes to the small corner which seats the photograph of a guru. Crying in front of the photo, she begs for him to be granted one more life, she begs to be granted one more chance to live with him, she begs for one more chance to love and to be loved.

She is happy to learn the operation was successful and that he is safe. Running back to his room, she makes a resolve not to leave his side ever again. But fate brings her to yet another boulder in the form of dadima. Dadima, who was not unaware of what all Maan had gone through before giving up, did not allow her to see him. Dadima chided her for not wanting to spend the rest of her life with him, for wanting him to leave, for not granting him his share of forgiveness and happiness. Dadima showed her the door for walking out on the man whom both love the most. "I am granting you your wish. You will not see him again...ever". Seeing the door shut on her face, she breaks down into loud cries. Not being able to hold on to herself, she pass out with one word on her lips..."Maan"...which has a similar effect on Maan who wakes up from his unconsciousness screaming..."Geet"...

Love U for writing & more for sharing I know how much rare it is that you finally give in and post.

I had to be first or I could cry more than what I'm doing having read this.

"You never know what you have until you lose it, and once you lose it, you can never get it back"

Earlier too when she had left him on their engagement night she was so near to lose him to that awful elevator accident. Again the October incident, Media fiasco, she walked out on him but he refused to let go of their love & pursued her as much as he could to make her realize the value of their togetherness when he failed he set her free & then she knew she never wanted it what she said she craved for, freedom from him.

Well history as her mistakes repeat & no lesson is learnt from it.

She left him for forever if he had not followed her with his soul in quest of her she had closed all doors by herself without even realizing the graveness of her act.
She left him & yet its his love that is giving her chances, not one or two but numerous to look back, to turn since he is waiting for her with his arms open.

But how long.

Here we wont see him quit but what if he does. If not him destiny decides to grant her the wish she cannot stop asking.

This is fiction so we will see 'lived happily ever after' but in real life one never gets second chance to go back & mend the dent in relationship done.

Seeing this man go through all this & still smile I too want her to get her wish.
Be free of him.
Guess thats what is called poetic justice.

Now you have gone
And I'm left here waiting and wishing.
Fearing never seeing you again.

Are you just longing for someone, anyone.
Who you can share your moments with,
Of joys and sorrows that you both have felt?
What do you really want?
Is it you need someone or that you need him?
Only time will tell
If he will give you another chance.
Beautifully written.

Very well written, Dolph! It reminds me of a saying- Live each day as if it were your last. One would be far kinder on others and oneself, if you knew you had only one more day to live. Unfortunately- in the mundanities of life, we forget that we are mortal and some grudges if held on to for too long, we may never get the chance to let go! I guess that is what makes us human and fallible- else we would all be Gods in our own right 😊

Thank you for the post, really made me think!

ps: In the context of Geet, Dadima or no Dadima- I think somethings are meant to be-Just like Maaneet. They may flounder along the way, take inexorably long (IMO)- but they will find their way to each other.

Thanks a ton guys - Kul, Rati, sanjh1234, anupm04, Dreamy_Mystique, acjanfeb1 ...I'm glad it touched your heart.

Nandu - that's exactly it nandu.....life does not give a second chance to everyone. But being a fictional show, she may get as many as she wants and as many as Maan is capable of giving. Same is true vice versa also...Maan also needs to keep tabs on his anger. Geet has forgiven him too many times which I don't approve of (as if the show runs on my approval)

setfree - as always, wise and kind words full of hope :-)

Pix - you got that right....life is short and unpredictable. I lost a friend who was 23 yo and that's when it hit me. There is really no reason for us to hold grudges for life. Imagine if it was Geet in Maan's place who met with an accident, I cannot even imagine how would Maan feel if Geet was to die without forgiving Maan. He would die with guilt.

I'm really amazed and awestruck ! It was nice piece of work babes !

And, coming to the real show part,

I really want Maan to leave her after all this work he did for her, I really wish that, Maan would forgive her once more and if she rejects, then, I don't want Maan to stay anymore there, then only she will realize, what she had and what she LOST !

Sometime, you can't drag the thread, and matter too much that it breaks and then, you never be able to mend it ! And, even if you mend it, there will be a knot and little crash always !

" Make someone miss you in your absence but not make someone misses you too much, that the person learns to live without you ! "

I hope, she understands it, and go back to him, without any further damage in their relation !

Damn Dol, that was really beautifully written! Life doesn't always give us second chances, and if it does, then too many times we fail to grab the opportunity and make the most of it.

I really miss your amazing writing style..please do write more :)
