As my friend jyo suggested I'm posting this here:

Yesterday many found Maan riding the cycle hilarious. Some found it ridiculous and some others were infuriated that their MSK has been reduced to this by his love for Geet. To me it seemed the creatives were back to giving us various symbolisms as they had been doing in the past. This is my interpretation of the cycle scene.

The first thing you learn in bicycle riding is balancing - When the balance of life is disturbed there is trouble.

After the miscarriage, Maan immersed himself in his work as a means to cope with the loss. In the process he lost touch with what Geet was going through. One may argue that she herself shut him out but that only means that he was required to walk that extra mile to get into her mental and emotional space and understand what she was going through. One has to give it to the man. He did want to spend his time with Geet but then stupid Dadi thought she had better ideas and ruined it all. Geet too lost her balance because she lost touch with what Maan was going through while she remained mired in her grief. Ironically when they both wanted to start anew, burying their painful past, they had already drifted away and couldn't comprehend what the other was feeling. Now that Maan has realised that he needs to restore that balance, he is keen to win his lady love back. He is not only balancing the cycle but also his life.

Cycle is a vehicle that can move only with your physical effort unlike the vehicles with engines -Nothing in life can be achieved without one's efforts.

Maan had thoughtlessly uttered certain words and in the process had broken the heart of the woman he loves. His woman, who was his life, has left him. He needs to get back his life through his own efforts and he is willing to do that. A car or a jeep runs with the help of petrol/diesel. Here the cycle is his life, his body is the engine and his effort is the petrol that rides that life. Lets not forget that the car which was arranged by his brother had ended up with a flat tyre. So there is no use depending on others for taking care of one's problems. Self help is the best help.

Cycle is the vehicle of the common man - Life's beauty lies in its simplicity and not in false family pride.

Maan has always been a simple man with simple ways but deep down he did have a pride in his family lineage. Why else would he keep repeating Maan Singh Khurana would not do this or that? In the latest misunderstanding too he dragged the name of this royal Khurana khaandhaan which prided in its red blooded men as opposed to some other innocuous families which had white blooded females. Now to make amends for these thoughtless words which may have come out because of some innate yet unconscious family pride, he will lower himself and woo his Geet as a common man and not as the great Maan Singh Khurana.

P.S.

When Maan Singh Khurana sets his mind on something he will not be deterred by anything till he achieves it. So if riding the cycle is the way to get to his love, he will do that unmindful of how ridiculous or comical he may look on it.

Wowwww wowww woww... your cycle symbolism is just awesome and it gives a whole new dimention to this story👏👏👏...Yes now that I think of the cycle...I can fully understand why CVs had to show MSK on a cycle and not any other vehicle...it indicates three things...Balance,Effort and simplicity r the 3 means of livelihood and a successful relationship⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ...just perfect...

Thanks Swan. Was a little upset seeing many posts ridiculing MSK riding the cycle. To me it seemed a very meaningful scene. So like it.

That's a brilliant connect. Yes, there could be something about that too. He did say that he had shelved that cycle ever since he fell from it. A guy who shied away from riding a cycle after he fell from it does not hesitate riding it for his Geet. He is willing to conquer his fears and his apprehensions for his Geet.

Dont discount the brains of the CVs. Some of them are really good. They've given us some great symbolisms in the past too.

We were just having this discussion in the den again and here is what I typed there -

Here are some reasons why I think the CV's went with this way

1. A sense of equality in their relationship - Maan has always told Geet how important she is in his life and accredits all his current happiness to her presence. But in action, he has always treated Geet as a priced possession, something that belongs to him and never as a person. Her views don't care for anything, her thoughts are immaterial unless it is related to them. Geet has no say in matters related to their household and infact she is not even asked for a suggestion. Maan singh khurana makes the decisions. And when she made a decision without his consent, he questioned it. It is important for Maan to travel the journey and know the significance of equality in relationships.

2. He may never judge a person depending on how poor or rich they are, but he is very proud of his richness and hence thinks it almost his right to command and boss over others. It is important for him to identify himself without the support of his richness and his lineage, not because it is not rightfully his to enjoy, but because humility, humbleness and simplicity are important characteristics to possess and once that Geet cares about.

3. You sole a problem based on what created it. This time they have a problem because of him saying explicitly that his lineage is better than hers. So if he has to prove to her that he truly does not believe that, than he has to do it without its support.

Hey Opti🤗

I am glad you made a post on this. Unlike most of the people,I did not find cycle scene ridiculous or un-MSK like. On the contrary I found it rather appealing. The whole scene had an old world charm about it. You know a simple man trying to reach his destination with his own efforts without the aid of any frills. Beneath all the riches and glamour, MSK always comes across to me as a very simple man who makes his way through his own honesty, hard work and determination. So the whole scene to me was very MSK like. It was not demeaning,it was elevating.

Of course I could not spot all these symbolisms,so thanks for bringing them out and explaining them so well.
