The Accident Reprise

At KM, Geet saw Dev, who to the Khuranas was not a stranger,
She told Maan that she saw him, but he realised not the import.
The next morn, the lift crashed; and Maan's life was in danger,
He had been looking frantically for her, who was to be his consort.

Would he survive after so great a fall, they agonised,
But he felt her presence and set the monitors beeping.
His revival perplexed the doctor, who merely surmised:
"Mayhap he has come back to finish what was pending."

At Shimla, Geet saw Dev, who from the Khuranas was now estranged,
She told Maan that she saw him; this he dismissed as her hallucination,
That same night, he bumped into Dev, who said, "I'm man now changed,"
He warned Dev off his consort, despite the latter's "I mean no harm" protestation.

Now, the precap foretells that there'll be a reprise,
Of an accident, a hospital, and his vitals fluctuating,
Yet another revival, and another doctor will surmise,
"Mayhap he has come back to finish what's still pending."

Out of the corner of his eyes, in the distant horizon, Maan sees something. He looks at it again in wonder, rubs his eyes to double-check and pinches himself to cross-check.
