Like i told rosh, thank god we have a thread where we can crib because we are anyway hard core geet fans and so we can crib. as long as it is not in the main forum.

1. Why i started watching geet

Ca1. Can anyone unlearn an experience? I don't know.

So can Geet so easily forget all that she went through and go back to being relaxed. Maybe she can but in real life people don't.

2. 2. When we go through a life changing experience, is it possible to go back to being your rosy eyed spectacle kind of person?

I don't think so because we learn from life's experiences and it makes you extra careful. But Geet always forgave Maan also for all the horrible things he said to her and so she doesn't have any such problems.

3. 3.Is it possible to become financially dependent after you have been financially independent.

Yes, but you have to give up your ego and the moment you are told not to spend on something by somebody without it being a joint decision, all the demons of being financially dependent come back to haunt you.

4. 4. Geet decides to continue having her baby, I accept that because it was her decision and an emotional one though in real terms it was not practical. But when you take such a responsibility to bring a child who will be a totally dependent person into this world, on what basis are you doing so. You have to start working to provide for that person. Such decisions are not taken on the basis of somebody else conveniently helping you out. The moment you take help from somebody else, you give that person also the power to question your action.

So has Geet transferred the responsibility of child rearing onto Maan. Why? Because she feels he loves her and so should take care of her baby. She is willing to leave a child alone in this world in the care of only one person, Dadi is old, the rest of the khandaan is nikamma. So if something happens to Maan, whom does she think will take care of the child. I would think it is irresponsible to bring any child into the world if you can't take care of it. It is not just a sign of 'we lost it for the moment'. A child is a lot of responsibility.

I don't see Geet fulfilling any of her responsibilities towards her child which she decided to bring into the world.

5. 5. This is india where the concept of alimony does not exist. Women who have been married for many years and given up their careers to take care of their children are left in the lurch without even a roof even when their husbands are in good positions and could easily support but they prove that they don't have any money and she has to become dependent on her own family whom she left many years back.

6. 6. I would not accept it if my daughter said that she wanted to get married at 18 and was happy to be a homemaker. Whether they liked it or not, whether they were in love or not, I would ask her to get her 'degrees' in place before she 'loved' to be a homemaker.

There is nothing wrong in being a homemaker but for every husband who thanks and appreciates his wife for her contribution, there is a husband who says 'what have you done.' So the option of 'going back to work' should always be there. And for that the degrees have to be in place.

7. 7. BACK TO SCHOOL - When you are in study mode it is so much easier to study. It is so much more difficult to study when you have left it behind some years behind. It is so difficult to crack an exam when for 10 years you have not thought of studies. So how do you start building a career without an education or experience.

8. A friend had to go back to work to support her family after her husband's business collapsed and hubby went into depression. Kids fees etc still had to be paid and what worked for her was the M.sc degree in biotech which her father 'forced' her to complete and which she was not interested in at all and did only for his sake grumblingly.

9. 8. I used to watch a famous serial and identified the character with many Marwari friends whom I had who used to come to college just till the time they got married. They were okay with the MCP's at home and I had no issues with that but they had money in the bank. I stopped when the female heroine would not reply back or give her point of view for anything for supposedly the good of the family. Too much sacrifice I cannot bear. They had no problems about dowry because they knew their parents could afford it and it was like their portion of the family khazana. But it was still their thinking.

10. 9. If geet had been like a YRKKH from the beginning, I would not have raised such issues because the background they show is what normal business families have. Look after your family. Work option is not there and girls know that. If you want to work, do it in addition to your housework.

But geet was not typical, we identified with her because she represented how she gets empowered and about a guy who wanted to empower her.

Just one scene where she behaves like an idiot to a client and I felt so bad about her character assassination. But she is the cv's child and if the parents have changed so many times, then she is nobody's child. So why get upset. I am not going to stop seeing
