I agree with what you said. It is not the question of how much Geet suffered and it is also not the question of whether she can support herself independently or not. The question here is why she should insult Maan, his support and mostly his love in front of the whole world. When Maan was able to accept her as is along with her past, why can she not accept him the same way. Her conduct shows that she has never accepted Maan the way he has accepted her. I would go as far to say that at the first test of love, she failed.
She should confront him to get her doubts clarified, but not the way she made tamasha in front of the whole world. That only shows the shallowness of her earlier concern about Maan's izzat and also her earlier promise of his happiness being her happiness. Unless she supports her words with actual deeds, her words are meaningless.
Also, she started with wrong questions and obviously got the wrong answers. She should have confronted him on why he got bail for Dev, not by stating "his so called nefarious motives in marrying her" in front of everyone as if it is an established fact.
