Ash, Geet would have accepted if Maan had stood by his family instead of her. What she could not tolerate was that he apparently took her side but went behind her back and freed his brother and also seemed to want to marry her only to get his brother's freedom. She has been cheated and betrayed by all those close to her and she thought it was happening all over again and this time by the one whom she loved most. Betrayal (or presumed betrayal) can hurt the most when you love the 'betrayer' the most.
