He had reached out to free her dupatta and that is when he had felt it ' her touch on his shoulder. For the first time it had felt different - neither hesitant nor accidental nor worried but, a confidant touch, an almost hug; her acceptance, her trust, her faith in him - evident.

When he had looked back at her, her eyes had spoken to him - letting him in on the secrets of her heart, telling him how much he affected her; but, this time he had felt a need to hear her say it, compelled to know that he had not been wrong in what he read in her eyes. She had then, asserted with her words what her eyes conveyed, words that he had unknowingly waited for- telling him how much he meant to her, that he was above all else for her; affirming it with her touch, making him a promise. Those words had brought with them a joy, a peace and contentment for him; a balm to the hurt he had felt with the realization that she had loved another- a confirmation of her feelings for him, her esteem for him. His heart brimming with love, he had stood there gazing at her to his heart's content - no need to hide his feelings from her, to shield his heart from her.

The trip to Manali had brought something else out in him, made him feel something that he had not known he could - jealous, insanely so; his possessiveness of her manifested manifold.

Their client's overly friendly behaviour with Geet, his effusive praises, had grated on him; his appreciative glances at her open back had made such a streak of a jealousy run through Maan, that uncaring of appearances, he had raced after her to cover her up. When Mr. Rawal had made inquiries about her, he had impatiently tried to hurry her, forcing those bangles on her; only her pained gasp making him realize, what he really had been doing in his haste to get her away. Oblivious to all else, he had stood there caressing her hand, gazing into those eyes that looked at him accusingly but without anger.

Finding Geet surrounded by Mr. Rawal and his family, all approving her as their daughter-in-law; had made him annoyed, brought his possessiveness to the fore. He had forcefully pulled her by his side and proclaimed her as his; this time, not his fake fianc but his real love. She could belong to no one else, love no one else- the love in her eyes, her gentle smile, all belonged to him just as he belonged to her.

He had freed himself from the burden of hiding his feelings; free to claim her as his. His jealousy, his possessiveness, all a part of his love - gloriously encompassing them both; there for all the world to see - she is mine, only mine. His Geet - Maan Ki Geet.
