Nandita, I agree-- he's put his heart out there, she knows that his life is incomplete without her; he's admitted to her repeatedly!
Its her turn now, to come to the realisation that he has-- she knows that she loves him, but does she know how much, does she understand the depth of her emotion.
We need to see her love him and TELL HIM that she loves him-- either by word or by deed.
We need a proper confession scene, CVs-- we need to see the two of them sit down and talk through their feelings, and admit that this engagement is now NOT A FAKE and that both of them mean it and want it-- that they both want to be married to each other, that they both want to be there for each other.
I want her to tell him that she loves him-- in private, before he tells her using those words. I want her to CONVINCE him that she's not only marrying him to hide the fact of the baby, but BECUASE SHE WANTS TO BE HIS.........his wife, his ardhangini, and that she loves him for HIM not just because he is her saviour
I want her to call him Maan, not Maan sir-- I think the moment that she calls him Maan again will be the moment when the reach the level of intimacy of pre-pee loon. Remember, she called him Maan once or twice-- and then as soon as everything went to hell, she reverted to Maan SIR
Do you know what I really want-- I want:
A fight, NOT ABOUT HER PAST, where she has to manao him-- and for once I want her to be in the WRONG and genuinely have to apologse about something
I know won't get this one-- I want a suhaag raat where he erases EVERY MEMORY of Dev from her mind-- where they wake up together (you know, one of the most convincing morning afters was in Kayamath-- it was genuinely very sweet-- something similar to that would be nce- in inimitable Maaneet style of course)
Even a small mention of the future, a moment when they perhaps contemplate life with the baby, even if they suddenly feel awkward after talking about married life.
Their reaction to Dadi talking about setting the wedding date-- for example Maan starts insisting on the wedding being soon-- perhaps Geet feels awkward when she realises it's to make sure the child is thought to be his-- and then they have a discusion where they talk through what it would be lke to be married. (One of the best moments was when he said to her "Tum meri mangetar ho, to shadi ke baad ye kamra tumhari hi to hoga"-- a few more moments lke that)
Something where he takes her and introduces her to people as his mangetar
Something where he takes her shopping ala Pretty Woman
I want to see them married, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE-- I want her to keep a vrat for him (and I don't even believe in vrat, I'm muslim, but it just seems such a perfect thing to do-- just like in DDLJ-- where Maan has secretly kept the same vrat witohut telling her)
I want her to look after Maan when he's ill-- not anything serious, maybe a pneumonia or something, where he insists on going to work, but she won't let him, and says something lke-- aapko meri baat maanni hogi, ab mein apki mangetar/patni hoon
GOD, I'm such a sentimental fool-- its just that she's been through SO MUCH pain, and he's now burning in the same fire of pain and suffering that she has been for so long.
All these things can be done, keeping the show going without dragging-- but would need to be showcased in another story line-- for example CAN WE PLEASE REMEMBER THE WHOLE VICKY STORYLINE, and FIND OUT WHO MAAN WAS SEARCHING FOR IN HP.
Can we find out more about Where Maan's parents are?
Reintroduce goddam Sameera-- have Geet help Maan through some turmoil.
Sorry Nandita, I started this post as a reply to you, only meant it to be short-- instead it's turned into a shopping list of scenes that I want-- if there are any FF writers out there who feel like taking this on-- feeeeeeeel free
