Ok here are two possibilities

Geet is carrying the burden of the past, and when she revealed the truth, she kind of hoped that the man will take a step forward, but what he did was spoke his desire and not assured her of his continued presence in her life as she must have expected somewhere.

Now even if she comes back, it'll be on her own conditions and will maintain a distance. She may now have her doubts if he'll ever be able to completely accept her along with her past.
