What did Maan mean?

Why did Maan say after hearing all that that "Geet I thought you were only mine"?! I don't want it to mean what I think it does but I found it surprising for that to be his first expression. I understand that he's a guy but do you think that it's because he won't be the first person to have her? Please don't start attacking me, I get that people on this forum get really passionate about their heroes but I felt kind of offended, why is virginity or being the "first" such a big deal to guys but not girls? Seem highly unfair

I agree with you but then I feel that he is deeply hurt and his anger is not aimed at geet but at himself.
He is not able to digest the fact that she had some one else in her life and more than anything else what isbothering him is that she is carrying his baby.
And when did we say that Maan is a saint he is definitely not he is a man and he would be unfair.
I feel that he is at loss for one more reason. The girl he thought is weak a child woman and an immature person is the one with immense strength. She knows how to to fight, how to stand up for her self respect and her rights. He saw himself dwarfed in front of her suddenly.
