I just had a thought today that I wanted your input on: What was the point of the Pari track?
I was really hoping that at the end of this Pari track, Maan & Geet would both confess their feelings for each other...if the truth wouldn't come out, at least Geet would admit openly to Maan that she has feelings for him. Yet, it really got us nowhere.
I guess Pari got to know that they love each other...so what? How did that benefit the story?
It didn't change how Maan & Geet felt...because they secretly loved each other and continue to do so. Granted, Maan thought that Geet doesn't love him after their fight...but he seems to have forgotten all that...forgotten the fact that he was going to stay away from her. 😆 True, they are 'engaged' now so he can't really stay away from her...but if he really wanted to stay emotionally detached, he could do it. All he would have to do is pretend to love her in front of others and the moment they were out of sight, he could go back to his withdrawn self. Yet, he seems to have forgotten about Geet's words and it seems that he is back to his 'getting close to Geet routine.' This doesn't really make sense because I always got the impression that Maan wasn't the type to push himself on others...no matter how he felt. AND from what I remember, Geet did tell him to stay away from her. So during the time when no one is around...he should be acting cold towards her rather than listening to his heart and still edging closer.
I suppose one could argue that the 'engagement' came out of this whole Pari ordeal. But somehow, I think that could have been achieved without introducing Pari into the mix (in the first place). Maan already wanted to marry Geet...he could have forced her to play his fake fiance without needing Pari's entry or departure from the story.
I just feel like Pari's character could have achieved so much for the story even if it was a short run, yet the writers didn't monopolize on this golden opportunity. They are simply drawing out the moment...not wanting to reveal the truth...why? Maybe because once everything comes out into the open, they believe that there is no story left? I think they should reveal Geet's truth already and move on from there...there is no point drawing it out longer.
