Just posted this in FB! My take for the day!
Doodle, what can I say? Like always u r excellent as ever & what depth u go into! Sometimes the implication evades me but after reading ur analysis it comes in to view. And sometimes though I remember while watching the episode about a particular point I forget to mention it when I finally get down to write but u always happen to remember everything & tie it up in ur analysis. Really along with CV's u need a bigl applaud!!
Same goes for Jyoti, Anjana & others! U people r fantastic!
Now to the show! Nissar pls take a bow! Slowly u r making me ur fan in that long list! I was speechless seeing the thoughts, efforts, intellect u put in this show to finally air it. I mean I was bowled over by all the symbolisms today. Frankly I was way too tired today & when I caught the episode in a hurry nothing much came in to perspective but later on when I watched it with time then I could see all the minute details there. I will be honest, I have not seen any directors & that too male, put in so much of thought & intelligence into any show. Not that I am very affluent with serials, my experience is pretty restricted in that arena but whatever I have seen by far ur work I like the best. Very few shows actually make the audience think & ponder over & over again. All we get is what we see but here we r seeing so many layers in the story which r being taken into consideration & u r doing it perfectly, matching & tying up all the threads from the past to the present leading to the future! And a simple praise is just not enough, u deserve accolades! This I am saying from the bottom of my heart.
I am too tired today so won't go into all the details which others have already mentioned but few points I will jot down.
Pari's character is coming into perspective clearly but I will reiterate what Doodle said & which I said the day Pari was introduced. These 2 love birds doesn't need a 3rd wheel to realise their love for each other. Pari can give them a nudge in the right direction but the rest they can achieve themselves & I am sure of that. Actually in their love story I don't want any 3rd person involved but want to see them calling the shots & finally meeting in the horizon all at the same time. But yes Pari's maturity came to perspective today, she had the sense to deduce that there was something going on between Maan & Geet & decided to delve deeper to get to the bottom of it.
Another point that came to my notice was when Geet runs after Maan to tell him about the lipstick mark he was all set to give her a solid dose about the previous night but the moment he saw Geet was uncomfortable about the entire issue immediately I saw the change in his expressions & he stopped himself from probing further. Instead he openly lied about not remembering anything because he was drunk, he saved her the embarrassment there. Again another instance of selfless love.
And I knew Maan will behave this way so it was not a surprise at all when I saw him completely shutting off Geet & trying to erase her existence....mind u 'trying to' but definitely he will fail miserably in this regard. Here his heart, ego, confidence got a massive hammering & he had to lash out this way. But they were, r & always will be made for each other no matter what turbulence they go through temporarily.
I was not surprised seeing Geet as well because her reaction I expected as well. She would be timid, a little wary as far as Maan was concerned. She knows how Maan is & what he might feel with her rejection & thus her circumspect behaviour didn't leave me wondering.
I really liked the fact that in spite of Dev offering his handkerchief Maan didn't take it & later wiped that mark off with his own shirt. Bravo Nissar! Again their love story with all its parameters doesn't need any 3rd person's aid & specially Dev's. It signifies no matter how & when a storm brews in their relationship only their love & understanding can assuage that storm.
And that Taveez I am sure Maan will leave in the attic & tomorrow Geet might see it & take it along with her with the intention of freeing him from her forever but we all know what is the purpose of the Taveez & how it will make its way back to Maan who is destined to be the saviour, protector, lover, provider & guide of Geet when the apt time comes.
And that game plan of Pari was marvelous, didn't expect Pari to come up with such a clever plan of finding out Geet's emotions. I liked the way she said it seems that Geet too has the same dream that brought her from Bombay to Delhi. And as Doodle said it was very important & interesting to see Geet has finally laid the lid over her past regarding Dev. Even though she is carrying his baby & is sacrificing everything for it but he who brought her to this situation has slowly departed from her subconscious mind. Exceptional point! And my guess is tomorrow Pari will do something similar to Maan (maybe not a game but something to test his feelings) as well & we will see the same thing with Maan, all he could remember or relate will be in regard to Geet.
And the attic scene, we all know how important it was! Let me commend on the lighting, set decoration, camera work & last but not the least the significance it provokes in us with all the implications. Maan's dark, ruthless, unclean, awe-inspiring past was very well symbolised here. And the past is not buried but is very much alive to remind him of all the past instances & consequences. The childhood bike, the smiling photo all indicates this. And I loved the camera work & implication on the photo frame tying Maan's past with the present & how Geet witnesses his past & tries to ease out the mental scars that has led to this unsmiling hard hearted Maan.
And here if I may I would point out a marital vow that was supposed to be accomplished when the bride promises 'I will shower you with joy, from head to toe. I will strive to please you in every which way I can'. So this is exactly what she did today, the way she tried to stroke Maan's face in the reflection trying to erase the pain from him indicating she will bring back all his former happiness & joy. Again Nissar kudos to u.
And the dialogs, Barry Dhillon deserves extra mention, what apt dialogs at the right scene & situation! Geet's & Maan's dialogs in this scene was so appropriate & touched the right chord.
Again the precap didn't surprise me at all. Obviously some1 like MSK will react this way, if he didn't then I would have been surprised. Thanks for keeping the characters consistent.
It was an enlightening, informative episode which is slowly revealing the facts that will expose the past thus solving the present riddles in their lives. Both of them r at par with their past baggages & how they get over those simultaneously & understanding each other's issues on that basis & accept one another as they r is what is being laid out here. So once again thank u Nissar for this splendid show with an excellent story telling giving it such an intellectual & mature treatment. Its a treat to watch Geet!
