Anyway, i was replying to the specific points laid out in the opening post. Besides, i intended them for every pro-choice argument....not just Geet in the show.

Krystal - cooldude is the topic maker....
well its geet's choice that she wants to keep the baby..... if she has thot that the baby is an outcome of rape, i'm sure she wudnt hv wanted to keep it.... she has almost forgotten her purpose of coming to delhi was to search for dev... she just loves her child and wants to with her baby....
v shud all respect her choice....
lot of ppl say she's too young to be a mother... well lots n lots of our mothers were very young when their first child was born...if they had decided against giving birth, lots of us wudnt hv b een in this world.....
Geet's baby came in her world before maan meant anything to her....so its the baby first n then her love....
i am not a proponent of pro-life but of pro-choice... if maan unconditionally loves geet, he shud accept geet along with her baby... but then after his acceptance of everythign, geet herself feels that she doesnt want the child anymore then it will be her decision... i shall respect that as well... but that will defeat the whole purpose of her becoming sab se parayi

@Krystal..Hi..and here is my opposition to what you said..waiting for your reply. 😊

Nobody is saying that it is the baby's fault...here the question is of Practicality..practically speaking...the baby will be a terrible reminder to Geet of the most Cursed day in her life and should be logically terminated. Think with Brain and without emotions.

well, Geet chooses to look at it in a positive way..for you it was the worst day in her life..but for her it was the most precious..not because she consummated her marriage, but because she brought the most precious thing of hers into the world..something which can never leave her..because see, it's a 'someone', and she is that someone's mother... And no kid can regret having a mom who fought the entire world to give birth to her or him...

Excuse me????! What you just said is insane! Please, Geet has had a terrible trauma in her life, one that none of us would, God forbid, ever wish to see the face of in our OWN lives.....and would not wish on our WORST enemies. Geet NEVER wanted to be a role model for "US (non-suffering) women..all she wanted was a happy home and a happy life like all NORMAL women...please dont glorify her suffering An 18 year old Victim of deceit should NEVER have to act as a role model by giving birth to the baby of her Cheater "hubby". She didnt even want to get married in the first place.

In that case why should Gandhiji be a role model? Or Nelson Mandela? Role models are called so, because in life everyone encounters suffering. No one is happy for throughout their lives. But these people were. They survived the toughest situations. Also, Geet is a human being. She made a mistake-so did her family. But she set an example for us by not only learning from the mistake, but also setting about converting it into something that will have a positive impact on her life. We don't want to go through the suffering she did-but who knows what tricks fate might play with us? If god forbid anything happens, then we will just try to make it 'aal is well.' 😆

ABOVE ALL- BABY NOT WANTED!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its degrading to the power infinity to me dont know about you all.

You don't want the baby. But Geet does. And the serial is about her. Her life, her mistakes, her lessons, and her decisions. She did not make the decision to create the life, but she did make one to preserve it. And once God trusts you with something, you don't easily let go of it, because well, if he gave it, then there must be some reason for it entering your life.

P.S. (To anti-miscarriage supporters) I referred to the baby as 'it' not as a degrading thing, but because I don't know what the gender will be. 😆

@ krystal-

"don't glorify Geet" her struggle as a victim..

Erm..She doesn't want to be glorified...BUT, HASN't she being DOING stuff - in the best interests of her child

SHE wants to FIGHT for her rights, period.

THAT is enough to glorify her.

There are so so many so called happy women in society that aren't even AWARE that they are oppressed..

DEV was nothing more than a reality check in GEET's life.

SHE HAD to be made aware of her oppression in order to FIGHT back and REBEL- which she DID

Dev did nothing except penetrate that woman. SHE is the one who has stood up for herself.

NO one is "glorifying" Geet here.

She isn't a war VICTIM.

Thats the last thing she is.

That is why the SHOw is on her.

She has stood up..REFUSED to be victimized by her oppressors- be it Dev or her family.

IT is her Refusal to be considered a victim that is commendable.

She has always stood up with her past. NEVER refused to acknowledge it and what it made her.

Of course it was traumatic, but it is her past that's made her stronger.

Victimizing Geet will be subduing her Feminism- which I for one, refuse to do...at least after all the strength and courage she has shown in the face of EVERY thing she has ever faced

I agree with each and every point you made - However, in the previous post i was replying to the specific points on why it wouldn't be nice for a woman in Geet's situation to keep her baby just to be "Glorified as a role model"

Geet has taken her own decision and that has to be respected. However, it would be the task of every practical woman out there in this situation to get rid of the baby at first hint ....straight and short.

Practical- i don't think it's practical...

I think now it's subjective.

Inhuman to kill a life.

I would respect whatever choice anyone makes..

But just curious

DEfine..."every practical woman" who has given up her family, ready to give up her life, and the man she loves for a baby..that she shouldn't want "practically"?

There. You said it yourself. So for you, it would "kill the character" of any normal woman if she decides to abort a baby that she thinks was a result of mistake and deceit? Thats judgmental beyond limit. Lemme tell you, MOST NORMAL women would NOT want this baby in that situation.....would they all be wrong and killers, in your opinion? Mind over matter? Emotion over logic? Right of the "Unborn" over rights of the Woman to choose, is it? Regressive....very regressive. Anti-feminist too.😊

@Krystal? Y? India was built by revolutionaries... that's y its a free country... if we gave up everytime road got difficult then we would still be under british rule đŸ‘ŽđŸŒ

Geet is not everywoman but, emblematic of every woman and shud inspire all women to likewise fight against oppression and for wat makes them HAPPY. Baby in this case makes her happy... she considers it a blessing. If she wanted to abort, then i wud equally support her choice. She has opted to keep it... Nothing wrong wit that

It makes the STORY amazingingly interesting. How Does a man as STRONG as MSK protect her from all the darts that shall be fired her way for her choice. How will she grapple herself wit the mud flung at her. From the beginning, he has been unknowingly shapping her for the battles they will jointly encounter from family (devtara n daadi) and fingers targetted at them by society too. And have faith they will both together rise to those challenges with innate grace. The baby also leaves open ample scope for comedy, romance, and INurFACE moments of Maaneet torturing DevTara simply by being content together....

There you go again...the same refrain of "inhuman to kill a life."....without ANY consideration of why the "Life" needed to be killed. People make abortions not for fun, but for practical problems. Nobody has abortions for fun....get it correct. Get practical. STOP MAKING MURDEROUS DEVILS OF WOMEN WHO DECIDE TO HAVE ABORTIONS, FOR God's sake! đŸ„± That's downright disgusting.

Last line -again, i wasnt referring to specially Geet...i was talking about other women who might've been more practical in that situation.

I gave the answers in so many other posts -don't feel like repeating it now.

I am talking about every woman...every woman will not decide to have the baby in that situation....i was talking about them. Also, the pro-life tones of some of the peeps here are pissing me off, sorry.😆 So i have taken a few potshots at them..LOL.

As for Geet...she made her decision and her decision needs to be respected....but still im hoping it does not come into the world because it'll make the serial unrealistic...with all the Maan-playing-Mr. Saintly-and-accepting-the-baby. That's right outta-dis-worlddl.

@Krystal: It's just a serial..and anyway, every girl wants a guy like that. Might be unrealistic, but at least let us enjoy it in a TV show if it doesn't happen in real life..and anyway, if my stepuncle can accept a divorced woman AND her daughter, why can't Maan accept Geet?
