Hello! 😛 Okay this is the second chapter for 'Irrevocably Yours'. Please do comment and tell me how you liked or disliked it. As I said initially and will do so again, I am open and welcome to criticism.

Hope you enjoy it!

PS. Don't be shy in commenting, as it will determine whether I should continue with the FF or not.

Irrevocably Yours

Chapter Two

Geet stood reluctantly before the hostel, observing her current home from a distance. She vividly pictured a white double story house, with a porch. There would be a balcony situated before her bedroom, where she would occasionally stand and appreciate the scenery. Her dream house would be located on a hillside, with the very same wooden bench positioned at the end of the cliff. When the sun would set, she would sit on the bench beside her husband and watch the waves crushing and swirling by. Their children would be playing about ' content with their young life.

Geet unconsciously heard a voice behind her, thus disturbing her soothing thoughts. Her dream house was rapidly fading and was subsequently being replaced with the harsh reality standing before her. A large bricked building; surrounded by haunting trees which often prevented the sunlight from streaming into her room. Geet scowled and shuddered at the sight, what a waste in having to live her young life in such a place.

Geet felt her body being shaken vigorously as she stepped back into reality. She noticed her best friend Pinky talking to her with a donut still in her mouth.

'Geet'! Exclaimed Pinky, 'I've been trying to talk to you for ages but you were once again lost in your own world'.

'I'm sorry Pinky' Geet apologized, 'what were you saying?'

'The landowner was here a few moments ago and was looking for you!' Pinky said worriedly.

Geet gasped out loud, 'oh no! I owe him money for the rent' she moaned.

'Don't worry about the rent for now, I paid it for you' replied Pinky.

Geet felt a lump in her throat as she gazed upon her best friend in gratitude, 'what will I do without you' she whispered tearfully. 'I promise I'll pay you back as soon as my uncle sends some money'.

'Oh come on Geet, what's this talk about paying me back? I'm your friend!' Pinky replied, 'what's mine is yours and what's yours is mine'.

'I'm blessed to have a friend like you' confessed Geet emotionally, 'if anything happens to me in the future ' I won't have any complaints, as god has endowed me with a gift like you'.

'Don't talk such nonsense!' Pinky replied hastily, 'you always talk about death when you get emotional'.

Geet laughed slightly at her words, 'okay okay, I won't mention it again'.

'Good! Now let's go and eat' Pinky said excitedly.

'But you were eating donuts just now' protested Geet.

Pinky rolled her eyes and sighed loudly, 'after all these years you still forget that my stomach is categorized in two different sections! One is for sweets and one is for real food'.

Geet laughed fondly at her friend, 'Pinky you will never change!'

***

He lazily watched the waves crashing against the cliff as the sun began to set in the west. He stretched his legs and closed his eyes; leaning upon the wooden bench. The breeze wisped through his black hair as he ultimately felt himself relaxing. His office and personal stresses vanished from his mind as he embraced the serenity of the cold winds. His face remained upturned towards the sky. His peace was soon disturbed as a drop of water fell upon his cool skin. Maan's eyes snapped open as another drop of water fell on his bare arms. He cursed loudly in anger as her memories and her betrayal came flooding back to him. He detested the rain because she loved it! He hated everything that she used to love.

He shook his head in remembrance, desperately trying to get her out of his mind. Suddenly he noticed a silver light in the grass before his feet. He bent down and retrieved a silver anklet. With a scowl he tried to fling it away but stopped midway. He continued to gaze at the anklet, not knowing why he couldn't bring himself into discarding it. Before he could think anymore further, the rain increased substantially. Maan ran towards his black car and quickly sat inside. It was raining as if it had never rained before. He wouldn't be able to drive nor see in such weather. 'Damn' he muttered to himself as he realized that he had to sit in the car and wait for the accursed rain to stop.

He ran his fingers over the anklet and wondered what connection he had with it. In which he was unable to detach himself from it. Whose could it belong to?

***

Geet decided to call it an early night as she changed into her sleeping clothes and commenced in undoing the plaits from her thick brown hair. She sat down upon her small bed, anxiously thinking about the future. Her uncle had stopped sending money for months now. She had tried to get in contact with him but it seemed as if he were simply avoiding her. She had always been a burden to everyone in her family. Her mother had died giving birth to her and her father had abandoned her. She only had an uncle to depend on and even he had sent her off to a different town with the purpose of getting rid of her. Geet was sick of having to depend on others for help. It was time she stood on her own two feet! After all, Pinky couldn't always pay for her rent and household expenses. And what if she became a burden for Pinky? Thought Geet anxiously, would Pinky then leave her as well?

Geet shook such horrid thoughts out of her mind, 'I need to start looking for a job tomorrow' she promised herself as she got into the bed. Her ankle felt bare for some reason as if something were missing. She raised her pants and to her horror noticed that her mother's anklet was missing. With unbelievable speed, Geet dashed out of her bed and frantically looked around her room in search for the silver anklet.

Geet looked outside her window, 'could it be at the hillside?' she muttered to herself. 'How can I go there at this time of the night' she said to herself. 'Maybe I should go tomorrow?' she asked herself again. 'But what if someone sees it and takes it away' she whined. The silver anklet was the only thing she had in her mother's memory! It was too precious to risk losing. Her mind was set! She will go to the hillside and find her anklet no matter what.

Geet quickly changed into a white salwar kameez, not bothering to tie up her hair. She wrapped her white dupatta over her head and shoulders, thus concealing her face. She quietly went down stairs, afraid to disturb the other tenants. At last she escaped from the building and by chance found a taxi quickly. 'Luck must be in my side today' she said to herself as the taxi drove her on a path where she would come face to face with her destiny.
