Part 12: geet's bad dream!!!

Geet had wished the day was longer than 24 hours so that she could get more time to work on things. Meanwhile, maan was in office and asked sasha to bring the shimla project papers to him. While sasha and maan are discussing, maan thinks that dev can stay here itself and handle the project. Sasha does not like the idea. She remembers the challenge with naintara. She quickly respons, "MK, humne aaj tak who site nahi dekha. Aur agar dev wahan jaake site ko dekh sakte hai aur waha ke branch mein thoda time spend kar sakte hai tuo accha hi hoga. Main chali jaati MK but you know yahan itne ssare projects hain aur main unhe beech main nahi chod sakti hoon. Aur aap bhi tuo busy hai. So, I think the best bet is to ask your brother to visit Shimla, holiday bhi ho jayegi unhe aur kaam bhi."

Sasha knew she played it right. MK would never compromise and his work related issues. Maan agrees and asks her to get all the arrangements done. Sasha is elated. She is about to call dev when she sees him walking in with his wife. "aah, here she comes" thought sasha. "sasha ko challenge kiya than na?ab dekho sasha kya karti hai."

Sasha greets both of them. "good morning Mrs and Mr. Khurana." Dev wishes him back but naintara simply looks away. Sasha informs dev that maan had been waiting for him and when dev looks at naintara, sasha assures him that she will make his wife feel very comfortable in the office. Dev thanks her for it and naintara tries to get away but is stopped by sasha.

Aapne mujhe challenge kiya tha, yaad hai aapko. Char din mein, I'll be out of khurana constructions etc etc..today is the fourth day, Mrs. Dev Khurana."

"its only the fourth day, its not over yet."

"your right, mrs. Khurana. But the game is over." She laughs and pulls naintara's hands and puts the itineraries and hotel reservations in her hand.

"aapne mujhe khurana constructions se bahar karne ka socha, tuo maine aapko is seher se bahar kar di."

Naintara is surprised and looks at the papers in her hand. Sasha speaks again, "main explain karti hoon. Aap itna takleef kyu utate hain? Aap aur aapke pati kuch dino ke liye shimla jayenge. Yaani ki main yahi rahungi leking jayenge aap. Main is challenge jeet gayi aur aap har gaye. Yahi kehna tha. Bye, Mrs. Khurana, have a safe stay in shimla."

Naintara was not excited. Though her husband would now have a whole office in his control, the thought of leaving this lady in her bade veerji's life disturbed her. But dev quickly walked out and announced that their flight is at 7:30pm and hence they need to hurry. Naintara asks him if they would be attending the launch party. But dev informs her that the launch has been pre-poned due to a client and is now at 5:30pm, but they would not be able to make it.

Its five in the evening and all the employees are at the venue. Daadima and maan walk into the venue and daadi is happy with the decorations. She whispers to maan, "decorations kisne ki hai?geet ne?bahut pyaari hai, bilkul uski tarah." Maan chooses to stay quiet to messing with his daadi. Daadi then moves away to meet the other people and maan also does the same. Finally mr. chopra arrives after 20 minutes followed by geet. Geet walks to pinky to ask her if she is looking okay. She sees daadi and walks to her who is now standing with maan. Daadi likes the way geet was looking all pretty in simple ethnic wear. But she quickly turns to see where her grandson was looking. She was not surprised at all, he was looking at geet not even blinking once in between. Daadi pinches maan slightly on his hand and tells him, "Mr. khurana nazar lag jayegi. Ghoorna bandh kijiye." And maan looks at his daadi angrily. Why do the two women in his life tell him to stop staring every time? Geet greest daadi and daadi praises her "aap bahut acche lag rahe hai. Kyon maan aapko kuch shikayatein hai kya?" both geet and maan feel uneasy at this and daadi controls her smile real hard and moves away from there to leave them alone.

Maan almost extends his hands to push geet's hair away from her face but mr.chopra announces its time for the launch of the project. Everything was wrapped up real fast because of mr. chopra's change in plans and maan tells geet about it. She agrees to go the airport with him and mr. Chopra and sasha is left fuming. Sasha was about to remind him that she is incharge of the project now but daadi stops her right in time telling her to make sure the other guests are comfortable at the venue as maan is going to be away.

Maan, geet and mr. chopra walk out of the venue towards the car and mr. chopra suggests that he wouls sit in the front and both maan and geet take the back seat while the driver drives. Maan does not like the idea of taking the driver but cannot forego the opportunity to sit with geet for almost an hour drive to the airport.

After a long drive to the airport and stealing side glances of geet every now and then, maan finally concluded their discussions. The car parked in front of the airport and maan receives an sms from dev that his flight is delayed by an hour, so he would be reaching late to the airport. Maan simply ignores it and opens the door for geet and takes her hand while she gets out of the car. Geet smiles and maan tightens his grip on her hand and lets it go.

They see him off and when they are about to turn and get into the car, geet sees a very familiar face at a distance. She immediately recognizes her as naintara and dev follows her. They were walking hand in hand and all smiling and laughing.

Geet sees them walking towards the check in counter. Because of too much crowd, she could not really see beyond that. Her eyes were filled with tears. She was so close to meeting him, yet so far. Maan calls to her and asks her to get into the car. She does not hear him. She wanted to run inside and catch hold of him. She is about to step forward but maan holds her from behind. "geet, chalo!we can't be parking the car here for so long on the road. And where were you planning to go?" unaware of the fact that she was crying as she was facing the other side. She realizes it was best to just sit in the car. She quickly turns and gets into the car so that maan would not see her crying.

Maan asks her where she wishes to go. Geet could not gather the courage to respond to him. She could not believe that dev was in delhi and not in Canada. Naintara was right, dev does not love her because she had spotted him very happy with first wife. But, what was going to do now? She only had his memories all this while but now she almost came face to face with him and missed him. Nearly three months after his betrayal, her world crashed yet again.

Maan could not understand why she is so silent and forcibly pulls her to face him. He realizes that geet was not happy about something. "kya hua geet?" he asked. "kuch nahi, main bahut zyaada thag gayi hoon. Please aap mujhe ghar drop kijiye." Maan quietly held her hand in between his hands and gestured her to rest her head on his shoulder and relax for sometime as s they have a long way to go. She refused to do so, but unable to bear the pain and trouble quickly leans onto maan's shoulder.

While she was sleeping, tears rolled down and maan simply wipes them off with his fingers. "geet, main nahi jaanta tha ki main tumhe itna pressurize karta hoon. I'm sorry geet. Lekin, aaj tumhari wajah se sab theek ho gaya. Thanks!" He was almost about to kiss her hand but decides it was not the right time.
