I feel that the roses remind him of a bitter past, the reason he reacted so badly and looked so much in pain. I have a feeling that the roses are somehow connected to Naintara because she seems to love them. What is his involvement with her is still not clear. Could be romantic past or something totally different but whatever it was it seems to have a strong effect on him. What is really beautiful is that despite how strongly he despised roses, he still overcame that despise to keep that one rose which Geet had brought. I have a feeling that it was the rose whose thorn had pricked her finger. He so tenderly removed the thorn and looked at it with such reverence. So whatever his past was, Geet has already won over that bitterness with her sweet demeanor. If only she knew what a hold she has on her 'Sir!'..... sigh*

See i think this is the superficial answer...its what anyone would automatically assume....but for some reason there was a difference in his ANGST today than normally when he is arguing with Geet or thinking about her...or questioning his feelings or attraction for her......but I can't put on finger on exactly what it is.
