I am willing to babysit during the daytime! The first few months are easy anyway, because feeding and changing are all that is needed. Once he starts crawling, I will hand him over to the next person!

I will take over with Sue, when he is crawling. 😊 I am really scared of holding small babies. They are so tiny and cute, whilst I am soooooooo huge. I am scared I might crush them.

Seriously. I did not carry my eldest nephew until 6 months later. Even then, my mum was babysitting him and she dumped him on my lap when she was going for a bath. I was seriously at a loss at what to do. Suddenly he cried and I did not know how to pacify him. So guess what I did. There was a newspaper next to me (which was colourful - those in Malaysia will know it is Malay Mail) and I showed the paper to him, and started to read the paper. My dad who was snoozing on the sofa nearby, woke up suddenly to find out why I am reading loud. Then he was shocked when I was reading to my nephew and he started to tease me about it. I stopped reading and my nephew was making some forced noises. My dad said keep reading, when I continued my nephew stopped his noise, but when I stopped it started again. Awww...... that is when I bonded with my nephew. Unforgetable. 😊 😊

OMG I did not know that there will be such a response. I would have announced in IF when my Aishu was a baby. Sob,sob, I suffered alone.

Caryn, how old is your nephew now? What is his response to reading newspapers today? I am soooo curious....you may have stumbled on a great premise to motivate reading! 👏 👏 👏
