Duryodhan got hastinapur. Duryodhan got the throne. Even though yudi was the eldest son of the previous king - pandu. But all pandavas got was a barren land - khandava
The empire they built up is on the basis of their own hard work and alliance to panchal. That itself should be prove enough how capable Pandavas were
Duryodhan had to resort to dyuth to win Pandavas hard earned empire
I think it’s the matter of training, they [Bhishma and Vidur] trained Yudhishthir to be a king but Duryodhan was trained by shakuni who only knew how to do planning and plotting.
And about the khandavaprastha part they established it with the help of Vishwakarma and about the administration then it was handled by Ministers in those time and Narad muni too came to give Yudhisthira the knowledge about how to do administrative work and who was with Duryodhan? Bhishma and Vidura were against him and Dhritraashtra, they only cared about their rights and wrongs.
And Yudhishthir got the knowledge on Dharma from his celestial father whereas Duryodhan never had this advantage. All were against Duryodhan since the day he was born, so it was definitely unfair to him. Pandavas were capable but they were made invincible by Bhishma, Vidura, Drona and Krishna’s support but all Duryodhan had was Shakuni who was only interested in his revenge.
