Akshay is not forcing anyone to recite it. It's not like he's shouting at someone if they fail to recite it. And yeah if the host happens to be a Muslim and recites ayats from the Koran, he is free to do so but the participants would have the freedom of not reciting those after him. Like Carol silently says her prayers and Rosa too. Nauheed too recites something else at times. It's perfectly fine. He's reciting it for the majority of the participants. And no religion is so weak that hearing something from another religion will weaken it.
LOL... i am very proud of my heritage and religion...😳 but i am not one of those people who would force my religion or values on others..😛.. i have a lot of muslim friends. and for them its considered haram to worship or recite mantra's like this..😊... shouldn't their religion and heritage be respected and taken into consideration too..😛
Meena, honestly this is the first time I've heard that it's haram to recite mantras. Agreed, it's not something they should have to do but haram? I would have no trouble reciting anything from the Bible or Koran. It is not forbidden to do so, not haram for us. I too have many Muslim friends and they tell me the differences have more to do with idol worship than with mantras. Same with Arya Samaji Hindus. No problemo. No religion is so weak that hearing some chants from another religion will make their followers tainted. Don't we all hear the reciting of Koran from masjids almost everyday. In fact it starts early morning. So do bhajans blare out from shops everyday especially during navratras. If that is not a problem I don't see why Akshay's Gayatri mantra should be.
