Ridz: "Armaan pull over I am not going to some derelict animal dung infested jungle! Pull over god damn it warna mein tumhe chalte hue gaari se dakha dekar mardungi!"
Turning the music system up higher Armaan completely ignored the threats, he now knew Ridz could do anything but murder and that was all he needed to reassure himself.
Ridz: "Armaan mein mazaak nahi karaha hu… stop the car now!"
The car started coughing and shaking, as if obeying her command, coming to an abrupt halt. If it wasn't for the seat belt holding her back then Ridz would have ended up in the front passengers' seat instead of the back at the rate the car was shaking before dying. Holding her chest Ridz tried to calm her nerves… "WHAT THE HELL MAN! ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME???" she screamed still holding onto her chest, the fear was fast evaporating with the commencement of a fresh wave of anger.
Armaan: "Oye phool jari chup kar!"
Ridz fell silent immediately
Armaan: "If I wanted to kill you honey I could have done a millions times over by now, but look what you've done, your Tarzan style screaming has killed the car!"
Ridz: "Mein Tarzan ki tarah chila nahi rahi ti so shut up"
Armaan: "Whatever, abh jao bahar jaakar dakha lagao, I don't plan to spend my entire day standing in the middle of the road arguing with you"
Ridz was amazed at the cheek of him, never had anyone ever spoken in such a demanding tone, she opened her mouth to retaliate but Armaan butted in between
Armaan: "Before you start another ranting and raving saga, tummhe gaari dakha dene padega because sweety you may have forgotten but I haven't that you cant drive so ghari toh mujhe hi chalana padega na, abh jao, I know I'm hot but staring at me isn't going to get this car moving" Armaan chuckled at his own little compliments knowing very well it more then likely only infuriated her further but he was telling the truth about her not being able to drive.
Ridz gritted her teeth and opened the door to step out
Armaan: "Oh honey…"
Ridz: "Kya hai" she growled turning her head so he could see her deadly look clearly
Armaan: "Chill tiger, mein toh bas yeh kehna chahta ki zara dhyan se jaana, meine kuch der pehle yaha jungle chuwa jahte hue dekha ta… in fact I think it was a whole family" dramatically shuddering for a moment Armaan smiled at her sweetly
Ridz: "KYA" she shrieked and immediately slammed the door shut, pulling her legs up close to her chest looking around as though the mouse was in the car
Armaan: "Kya hua jaan" he peered through rear view mirror smiling evilly but trying to keep a straight face, "Tummhe kahi chuwa se dar toh nahi laghta na".
Ridz: "Bingo genius, now stop smirking and do something! Mein iss ghari mein raath baar nahi sonne wali"
Armaan: "Phir toh tummhe bahar jaakar gaari dakha dena padega jaan, because gari toh tummhe chalana nahi aata na" turning his seat he made a puppy face at her to put emphasis on that fact.
Ridz: "Grr toh abh kya karre"
Armaan: "Well pehle apne windows bandh kardo, mouse and rats can climb in through the smallest gaps…" before he could finish Ridz immediately closed both windows in the back and jumped into the front passengers seat, again holding her legs close to her chest weary of the wild mice and rats lurking about.
Ridz could take on any animals, no matter how big or small they were, but the one thing that frightened her to no ends was mice and rats.
Armaan looked over at his sweet innocent looking wife who could scare the world but when it came to a small creature like a mouse then she was the perfect elephant. Shaking his head sniggering slightly at her apparent state he made no secret he was laughing at her
Ridz: "Abh hasna baandh karo and koi idea socho, I am not staying stuck here all night… acha kaasa hotel mein te par nahi, bhudaji ki meri aaram kaisa bardaash hota, le aye mujhe jungle mein aur uparse iss katara mein" with that she dramatically hit the car at which it coughed a little taking Ridz by surprise as she quickly withdrew her hands
Armaan: "Honey quit insulting the car, you hurt its feelings so it stopped running now apologise to the car"
Ridz stared at Armaan in disbelief, "was this guy completely off his rocker"
Armaan: "Arre quit staring at me, your making me feel uncomfortable honey"
Ridz immediately looked away embarrassed at being caught staring, then changing her mind she turned back and hit him on the arm
Armaan: "Ouch what was that for?" Armaan rubbed his arm acting as though it had hurt
Ridz: "What was that for?" she wined imitating Armaan as a little baby "Na tum mujhse shaadi karte, ne hum iss stupid honeymoon par aate, na mein iss katara mein tumhare saath pasi hui hoti grrr I hate you sooo much"
Armaan suddenly leaned over and pointed outside "Chuwa" he yelled making Ridz jump and hug him, burying her head in his chest while she shook with fear
Armaan was paralyzed for a moment; it was as though her touch had knocked the air out of him, feeling an unknown sweet sensation stir within Armaan gently put his arms around her, holding her, soothing her till the shaking subsided "Chala geya" he whispered after a few moments
Ridz opened her eyes slowly, his cologne was intoxicating, the warmth emanating from him made her feel safe and secure; she felt the colour in her cheeks rise as she felt hand slowly caress her back. As though hit by lightening Ridz jerked back immediately looking anywhere but at him
Ridz: "Er ar erm im sorry" she managed to stammer
Armaan: "I'm not" Armaan winked back as he got out of the car and headed to the front of the car to check under the bonnet"
Staring into space with head hidden behind the bonnet a goofy smile played on his lips as Armaan pretended to fix something. There was nothing with the car obviously, he knew that but Ridz didn't and that was exactly what he was going to play on.
Taking a seat back in the car Armaan looked over at Ridz who was obviously also affected by their little embrace, "Okay I've done my part, now it's your turn"
Ridz looked over at Armaan clearly confused
Armaan: "Apologies to the car then we'll be on our way honey"
Ridz laughed slightly at his stupidity but obliged, and miraculously the car started without so much as a shake, almost as though there was nothing wrong with it. "Uff shuru hogeyi Sherlock Holmes jaasoos mind, drop it, his sweet and you know it" a smile appeared on her lips unknowingly
They soon pulled into the thicks of the wood where there was already a little camp prepared and there were a few other couples there already. Armaan led them towards a rather magnificent looking tent, it was one of those "luxurious tents with a bathroom and kitchen" included.
Ridz: "Hum yaha rahenge" Ridz lifted her nose looking around at the camp site, the tree's, the mud, the reality that there could be wild mice around didn't quiet suit her taste
Armaan: "Yeps" he grinned as he fell back onto the comfy makeshift camp bed
Ridz: "par yaha…" Ridz looked around, obviously in search of something
Armaan: "Kya"
Ridz: "where am I sleeping? If that's your bed where's mine?"
Armaan chuckled at her innocence, "honey this is a couples tent, they don't do separate beds here" he chuckled once more as he saw her eyes widen in horror. Just as she was about to speak Armaan took out another sleeping mat from his bag and rolled it out on the floor on the other side of the tent.
Ridz stared at him completely surprised as he made his bed up "Ridz this guy is too sweet, I cant believe you've been so horrible to him for so long" a voice somewhere in the back of her head was singing praises for Armaan as Armaan slowly calculated his next stunt
"Tummne mujhse takkar li hai na Mrs Riddhima Malik, toh yeh bhi samajlo ki mein bhi tumhara pati hu jaani" Armaan laughed wickedly in his mind while a cute innocent smile played on his lips.
"Kaha aakhar phas geyi, yeh kiss jaanam ka badla aap lehrehe hain mujhse parbu, na meine kissi ka bura kiya hai, na kabhi kissi ka bura socha hai toh mujhe itni bari saza kyun milrehi hai" Ridz continued rambling on under her breath while the rest of the group mainly consisting of tourist speaking all sorts of foreign languages eagerly rushed ahead with the guide up the stony paths
Armaan lingered behind the group watching Ridz from the corner of his eyes "open the god damn bag Ridz"
As expected Ridz opened her bag a few moments later, without looking she took out the bottle of water, opening the bottle cap she lifted it to her mouth when a deathly scream parted from her lips instead. The entire group came rushing back to see what was wrong, Armaan hung in the background for a moment collecting himself, the laughter was hard to control but he had to if he was going to woo this girl into accepting him
Rushing forward finally Armaan went towards Ridz as the rest of the group sniggered and laughed slightly watching this native Indian girl acting horrified holding a water bottle in her hand.
Armaan took Ridz by her shoulders and shook her bringing her out of her shock; Ridz had frozen to the spot holding the bottle in front of her like a statue. "Sweety kya hua?" taking the bottle from her hand acting oblivious to the reason of her shock Armaan examined the bottle, inside the bottle was a cockroach floating on the surface, turning back at Ridz he gave her an amused look "Tum isse bhi darti ho?" he mocked her slightly pointing at the bottle
Ridz glared at him for laughing at her as well "sweet my foot" she grumbled in her head as the look of horror once again took its place on her face when she saw Armaan bringing the bottle closer to her, stepping back automatically, Ridz stumbled on some stones and fell backwards, taking hold of her ankle she whimpered in agony quietly while the rest of the group started walking up the path again. Some of the other tourists were getting impatient at the unscheduled holdup so the tour guide had decided to continue with the trek.
Armaan immediately rushed forward to aid his wife "dumb as*, your prank had to backfire now, look what you've done to her" Armaan bent closer to Ridz only to be stopped in his tracks by her raised her hand.
Ridz: "Tum haste raho baakhi logho ke saath, mein apna kayal khud rakhsakti hu" a determined Ridz tried to stand up on her feet but fell down immediately. Still adamant not to be taken pity upon Ridz managed to stand up, hobbling slightly thanks to the shooting pains in her leg. Wobbling behind the group Ridz tried to catch up with them, for some reason seeing Armaan laugh at her really hurt. It was one thing being laughed at by completestrangers but this guy was supposed to be her husband.
Limping ahead Ridz finding it hard to balance, the pain was unbearable but Ridz was adamant and stubborn. Armaan saw the pain he had caused and unknowingly even though he felt happy at being able to scare her, the last thing he wanted was to cause her any physical pain. Unable to take the pain of watching Ridz in pain he did what instincts told him to, walking up behind Ridz he lifted her up in his arms with ease and started to walk back to camp.
