Part 15: Kripa had called Prithvi, from a cell phone owned by a shop keeper. He had picked her up, and now Kripa was in her room.
Prem knocked on Kripa's door and gave her a cup of hot chocolate. He talked to her for a while, untill he saw Kripa's eyes closing. "Alright, now. Go to sleep, baby.", Prem said getting up from the bed. He smiled, when he saw her pulling the sheet over her, and closed the door.
When her father left, Kripa sat up on the bed. She was confused at the sudden out brust she had at Angad's house. She picked up her cell phone, and moved the high light to Angad's name on the contacts. She wanted to call him and apologize. When she was about to press the "call" button, she stopped. What was wrong with her? She wanted to say sorry to the man that her hurt her? She wanted him miserable, and destroyed, but instead she was apologizing to him. The man who had hurt her, the man who had been so cruel, the man who had crushed her self respect, the man who.... who had taken care of her, the man who had made her feel special. Angad Khanna... the man she hated and loved.
She threw her cell phone on the bed. And decided to keep away from him. She was so much happier in her life when he wasn't there. She would never see his face again, she would never talk to him again, she would even run her magazine from her house if neccessary , but she would never communicate with him again. She picked her cell phone again, and dailed her secetary's number. "Jenny?", Kripa said. "Yes, ma'am.?", Jenny asked, a little alert that her boss was calling her at this time. "I know you are at home and I am sorry, but it is important. Remember the article about Angad Khanna we were going to publish in our magazine?", Kripa said. "Yes?", Jenny confirmed. "Tell everyone to cancel it.", Kripa ordered. "What? Ma'am but then-", Jenny was interrupted by Kripa. " I know, I'll..umm.. I'll find something to replace it. Tell Ayush to find something else too just in case. Ok?" Kripa asked. "Yes. I'll call Ayush sir.", Jenny said. "Ok then, thanks Jenny.", Kripa said and cut the phone.
For the rest of evening, Kripa searched for a new article. It wasn't hard to find something, she just had to make a couple of calls, which she did and everythingw as ready. She mailed it to Ayush and Jenny, and then relaxed herself. This would be the last week she would hear Angad's name. She was not relieved, not happy. Kripa sighed and rested her head on the bed. It was then that she noticed a card kept on her table. "Kripa Sharma with family.", it said. Kripa opened it. It was an invitation to the much awaited wedding of Mike Joel, and Sandra Gill. She sighed and kept the card back. Angad would probably be there too. Her heart skipped a beat. No she wouldn't go! But she knew she had too. It was the most grand event of the year. She sighed and went to pick out an outift for the next night.
------
Kripa was sitting there in the Mercedes, with her family. She was dressed in a knee length, thin strapped, sleeveless black dress, with a dark green scarf around her neck. The outfit reminded her so much of what she had worn the other day with Angad. She was near to tears now, thinking of him. She closed her eyes, and swallowed her tears. She opened them again when the car stopped at the entrance of the huge hotel. She went with her family.
Now, about half an hour later. Prithvi was somewhere upstairs where he couldn't be seen, Prem was talking politics in far end of the large room, and Roshan was shamelessly flirting with Meghna. Kripa sat at her table staring at both of them. She was right. The Khanna's were here too. Kripa observed the area she was sitting in- people were chatting, in another far end music was playing, so much nouise, so much chatter but Kripa felt dead, and alone in that cheerful crowd. Her gaze stopped when she saw a pair of red, swollen, gray eyes, peircing into her deep brown ones, with such longing, such hurt. Her heart skipped a beat, her face tensed, and tears formed in her eyes. Had Angad been crying? She sat there, staring at him, as he stared at her. She wanted to go upto him, and kiss his eyes, but she couldn't. She found it difficult to even breathe, let alone move her body. Guilt took over her, and the next moment she hated herself.
All the while, he hadn't taken his eyes off of her. He didn't even then, as he walked upto her, wearing a black suit and a blue shirt underneath it, with his hair gelled back. He came upto her, and extended his hand. She stared at it. She couldn't remember how many times he had done that in the last two days.
She looked into his eyes again, and placed her hand in his. They walked over to the dance floor. Staring at each other, they took their positions. Angad placed his other hand on her waist as she placed her free hand on his shoulder. They danced slowly, smoothly. Never taking their eyes off of each other.
Both, accussing each other, with eyes that broke both of their hearts into a million pieces. They were both angry, hurt and heart broken, despite the passion and longing that was visible in their movements. In the intensity, they didn't realize that their bodies were close to each other.
From the far corner, a pair of brown eyes, similar to that of Kripa's was watching the scene- amused, disturbed.
Angad saw pain, regret and love in her eyes, as he gazed into the brown eyes sparkling with tears. Love that she didn't realize.
Kripa saw anger, pain and love in his eyes. Love that she couldn't handle. She felt her self drowing into the gray oceans that were giving way a tsunami. Slowly, they stopped accussing each other and just started to console each other. They enjoyed looking into each others eyes.
Kripa moved closer to him, and he held her tighter. Kripa gave out a little sigh and Angad knew, she was going to speak. He brought her closer, as Kripa stared into his eyes from a closer distance, she forgot what she was going to say. Kripa's heart shattered when she saw his red, swollen eyes, filled with pain, trying to hide the tears in them.
Angad knew she wanted to apologize. But he also knew it wasn't her fault. She needed time, which he hadn't given her.
The hurt in his eyes was too much, in an effort to console him, she kept a hand on his heart. And suddenly, they both stopped dancing , but not taking their eyes off of each other. Everything stopped. It was only them and their emotions. The past, the future wasn't important anymore. Nothing was important than the person standing infront of them.
Then cell phone's opened, camera's flashed and movies recorded, as Angad kissed her. He lightly dropped his mouth on hers, and tenderly, softly kissed her. The kiss soon grew intense and deep. It was filled with promises. Angad and Kripa could hear the noises, they knew this would be in the news for weeks, they knew every consequence. But they did not stop. Everything they ever going to go through, every thing they would face would be totally worth it! Angad brought Kripa closer, and she wrapped her arms around him.
