After Angad's recognition of her being Mystery Girl, Kripa could do nothing but sprint through the hallways to track Alliyah down. She kept looking over her shoulder to make sure Angad wasn't following her. Finally she ran into Alliyah by Mrs. Patel's office, where she was happily chatting with Vikram Gupta.

"Alliyah!" Kripa gasped, clutching her side to reduce the pain from the stitch.

"What?" the frightened girl looked around wildly; apparently Kripa had scared her. "Oh, hi Kripa," added Alliyah when she saw her. Vikram sighed impatiently and stalked away, looking glum.

"What's up with him?" asked Kripa, momentarily forgetting her mission.

Alliyah watched Vikram's retreating back and rolled her eyes. "I have no idea."

"Oh, well, I have bad news," Kripa said quickly. "Angad knows."

"Knows what?"

"That I danced with him."

"Oh. That sucks, doesn't it?"

"You're being calm about this!"

"Shouldn't I be?"

Kripa stared at her friend incredulously. "Of course not! He knows! That's not good!"

"I know it's not, but it's not that big of a deal, Kripa," Alliyah reasoned. "I mean, this way, you don't have to watch your back anymore and worry about him finding out."

"Are you kidding me? I have to watch my back double time now that -"

"-But at least you can confront him now-"

"-I don't WANT to confro-"

"-It's better this wa-"

"NO IT'S NOT, ALLIYAH!"

"Breathe, Kripa, breathe!" Alliyah said. She took a step forward and shook Kripa slightly to get her to snap out of her hysterics. "I'm going to give you some advice, so listen up," she said business-like. "If you don't know what to do, just follow what he does. If he decides to take the whole thing as a joke, laugh along. If he forgets or ignores you, do that. Whatever he does, you just do the same, okay?"

"Right. Follow his lead," Kripa said faintly. "I think… I need to lie down…"

The next day, Kripa ate breakfast at home and double-checked her schedule to make sure she didn't share one class with him. All Angad-free. So after eating the eggs, marmalade, and toast Alliyah had courteously made her, Kripa set out for her first class. In the hallways, she either took shortcuts or hid behind unsuspecting students to make sure Angad didn't get as much as a whiff of her.

And so the day went on. Kripa mustered up her courage and ate lunch in the canteen to keep Josh and Prithvi from worrying. It was almost exactly the same as usual, except Angad surprised her by approaching her table with his eyes set on her. Instinctively, she ran for it out of the Hall as fast as her legs could carry her and hid in the library.

After three days of successful avoidance, Kripa thought that Angad would get the point and move on; she was wrong. Angad loomed on her after a class and caused quite a scene.

"Kripa-" he began with a tone of irritation, but she interrupted.

"Please, not now!" she grumbled. "I don't want to hear what you've got to say."

"Fine!" he shot. "If you want to be arrogant, I won't stop you."

"Give it a rest already, people are watching."

"I don't give a damn," he said as though he wanted the onlookers to hear.

Kripa started walking away but he called after her. "I expected more of you, Kripa."

She flipped around and glared at him. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"For a logical person such as yourself, I expected you to come running at my feet and begging to sort everything out," he smirked.

"You're too full of yourself," Kripa voiced her thoughts out loud.

"And you're a brat who won't hear me out," he said. All traces of amusement were now gone from his tone. "We need to talk."

"There's nothing to talk about!"

"You're pushing me, Kripa!"

"If it's out of a window, then gladly!"

"You infuriating, self-obsessed WOMAN!"

"You pompous, pretentious IDIOT!"

They both huffed angrily, turned around melodramatically, and went their separate ways. After that fiasco, they didn't speak to each other for a week. Every once in a while, Angad would pass her in the hallways and mutter darkly under his breath, staring at her as if he wished she would drop dead. So Kripa promptly started glaring malevolently at him in retaliation.

"There's such obvious tension, Kripa!" Alliyah exclaimed after witnessing Kripa ramming into Angad's shoulder to cause him momentary pain.

"I know," Kripa said bitterly. "But I think I hate him more."

"Not that kind of tension," giggled Alliyah.

Kripa started to retort but Josh came up and informed them of another Delhi trip.

"Let me guess," Kripa said quietly so only Alliyah could hear. "Angad will be there, we will get into yet another argument, people will stare, and I will lose another ounce of my dignity to that prat."

Alliyah smiled and encouraged Kripa to stop thinking about him and just go to have fun. Reluctantly, Kripa let herself be dragged out to Delhi on Saturday.

"Delhi weekend trip, love," Tanya's voice rang in Angad's ear.

"I swear I'll beat you if you call me that one more time!" growled Angad. "Besides, I'm not going."

"Why not?" Karthik asked, pushing Tanya aside with impressive force.

"Because SHE'S going to be there!" Angad muttered.

"We can avoid Tanya like we always do," Karthik said, ignoring Tanya's very presence.

"Not her. HER." Angad gave Karthik a significant look.

"Oh, Kripa."

Angad flinched at the sound of her name and made a face. "If I go to Delhi, I know we're going to end up face to face like we always do."

"You can't tell me that you don't like that!"

"Like what?"

"Like meeting her. Your face lights up every time you see her. You seem to mask it with non-existent hatred though."

Angad opened his mouth to say something nasty, but Tanya cut in.

"You LIKE her?!" she shrieked.

"NO!" Angad said stiffly. "Karthik, SHUT UP!"

"Oh good, Angu," Tanya sniffed. "Then you'll be going to Delhi with me?"

Angad growled loudly.

"He's going to jump out of thin air, I know it!" Kripa raged once she and Alliyah were in Delhi. "He won't leave me alone for the sake of his life."

"Calm down, damnit!" Alliyah finally burst out. "I'm sick of your whining! Quit thinking about him and help me pick out new clothes for Mishty's wedding."

"Ok," Kripa said in a rather small voice.

"I need clothes for my wedding," Karthik said walking towards a store.

"I bet you money she's in there," Angad said suddenly. "Seriously, I bet you."

"Fat chance," Karthik said. "So 50 rupees it is."

They walked in and at first glance, Angad thought he had lost his bet. But a minute of searching was all it took to spot Kripa by the fitting rooms, impatiently tapping her foot and yelling "You've been there long enough!" Angad emotionlessly held out his hand to Karthik. Who passed him 50 rupees.

Kripa noticed them. "Oh shit," she said rolling her eyes. "He hasn't died yet."

"Good day to you too," Angad muttered while Karthik went to pick out his robes.

Kripa and Angad stood opposite of each other for a long time, not looking at each other or saying anything.

"Alliyah, come on!" Kripa finally snapped.

"Can't even stand being around me for longer than a minute," Angad said, observing his fingernails. "What, afraid to get a disease?"

"If being a ferret-faced, egotistic idiot is a disease, then yes; I am afraid to get that!" she spoke willing herself not to look at him.

"Like being a bossy, insufferable WOMAN is any better?" he cracked. "Why do you always bug me?"

"Who said anything about YOU? It's always about you, isn't it?"

"You're calling me selfish?"

"Wow! Not as dumb as you look, Angad!"

"I'm getting sick of this, you know!"

"Of what? Being Angad?"

"No; this fighting with you. It's getting on my nerves."

"For once I agree with you."

"If it's not loooove, I don't know what iiiiis…" Alliyah sang from behind the curtain. Kripa openly gaped in disgust and shook with uncontrollable anger.

"You…! You…!" she sputtered angrily.

"Cat got your tongue, Kripa?" Angad sneered.

Kripa whipped around to face him. In her eyes burned with a fire so intense that Angad backed up a few feet. Her face was flushed and her fists were drawn, but she didn't reply.

"Anyway, since certain people get the wrong idea from our bickering, I think it would be best if we stop," he muttered quickly, hoping her dislike for him would decrease.

"Why?" Karthik spoke up from behind a large stack of sherwanis. "It's sort of fun hearing you lovers' quarrels."

"What do you mean 'lovers'?" Angad cried. "We are NOT lovers!"

"I was being sarcastic," Karthik said, narrowing his eyes.

"This is too much!" Kripa sighed.

Angad couldn't resist. "What, can't think of a come-back?"

"Don't test me," she hissed.

"I'm not testing you," he answered coolly.

Everything was oddly tense and silent. Then Angad sighed deeply. "Hurry up, Karthik!" he called.

"Now who can't stand being around the other?" Kripa sniggered lightly.

"There you go again, Kripa!" Angad said, rolling his eyes. "Every time, it's you who starts our fights."

"Don't give me that crap. 'Can't think of a come-back' doesn't ring a bell?"

"Don't start!"

"I didn't start it!"

"Yes you did!"

"Shut UP!"

"YOU shut up!"

"IDIOT!"

"STUPID!"

They simultaneously growled furiously and stormed out of the store. Or at least they tried to; they got a little delayed with their dramatic departure at the doorway because both tried to go through at the same time.

"Ladies first!" Kripa said before pushing Angad out forcibly.

Back at the store, Alliyah and Karthik exchanged amused looks.

"I'll give them a week before they start going out with each other," said Alliyah, watching their on going battle.

"I'll give them eight minutes," said Karthik before paying for his clothes and leaving.
