hey guys...here is the last part...was really busy with mothers day so wasnt able to post it sooner...😳😳...some of u guessed right...in terms of the ending...you are smarter than my KS readers...not to bash or anything...but no one guessed the ending like a few did here 😆

i want to thank you all for sticking through the end of this ff...i know it was really depressing but i started this ff with the ending already in mind...😊😊😊...i do hope you all liked it...

Part 19: Last Part

As soon as the cigarette hit the clear liquid the room was set ablaze and drowned into a sea of red, yellow and orange colors. Ironically it was beautiful sight in front of Ranbir. Ranbir could see the flames dancing in front of his tear filled eyes. Ranbir knew he had nothing else to live for. Ranbir closed his eyes as the flames leapt of the floor and began attacking his body. Did it hurt, of course, but the pain was nothing compared to what was going on inside his heart. The last thing he remembered was the sound of someone calling out to him, and the distant sound of sirens, because after that his world went black.

-up until now the ff has been about only one day...with Ranbir having falshbacks...now that day is over and we have moved on to the next morning-

"Business Tycoon, Ranbir Nanda, Fights for Life"

World famous business tycoon, Ranbir Nanda, lies in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at City Hospital in serious condition after receiving severe burns to his body. Nearly 80% of his body is burned with second or third degree burns. Right now the main goal of the doctors is to maintain his pain and keep him alive. Reports from insiders is that Nanda is still not stable enough to even consider skin grafting surgery or any kind of surgery at this point. He is under a certain level of sedation because he has been going in and out of consciousness since he was brought to the hospital.

It is reported that his friend, Siddhart Bail, had gone to Nanda Mansion to check up on Nanda. It can be understood that after such a hard and bitter emotional trauma Ranbir Nanda was not in the right state of mind. Bali had decided to check up on his friend after repeated attempts to contact him remained unsuccessful. When Bali got to the residence the home was already engulfed in flames. A neighbor, who had called the authorities, said that Bali risked his own life to go in and save his friend before it was too late.

Fire investigators have ruled this as arson, a deliberately set fire. From the investigation it is seen that there was alcohol and a cigarette butt found in his childrens old nursery, where the fire is reported to have started. Insiders say that it is the same room that Nanda was in before he was rescued by Bali. The lab technicians also say that Nanda's blood alcohol level was off the charts. It seems like an attempted case of suicide, had it not been for Bali who saved Nanda's life. Reports from Sablok & Associates, the law firm that represents Nanda, are that after the death of Nanda's family, that his will has been changed. A leak from insiders at the law firm say that all of his wealth and properties, everything that Nanda has will go to his friend Bali and other various charities. All signs lead to the fact that perhaps Nanda had no intention of surviving the fire. Call it good luck or bad luck, he was saved.

All night Ranbir was in and out of consciousness. He knew he was in the hospital and that Aditya had brought him there. Ranbir was pretty sure that it was Siddhart's voice that he heard just before he had blacked out in the fire. He knew that Siddhart was just that kind of friend to him. He knew that by transfering his money and power to Siddhart was a good move and one he would never regret. Ranbir was weak, he had to fight like he** just to stay awake for a few minutes. Ranbir knew that people thought he had tried to commit suicide, and they weren't wrong.

Ranbir could hear the doctors talking to Siddhart about his condition.

Dr- Mr. Bali the prognosis is not good. First there is the fact that his burns are very severe. The sooner we can get him into surgery the better, but Mr. Nanda hasn't stabilized for us to take him into the OR. Until his vital signs are stable there is nothing that we can do but wait, and time is not our friend. The longer we wait for this surgery and treatment the higher the chances of his wounds becoming infected and septic. With most of his body and flesh exposed he is likely to catch some other diseases and conditions. He is no form safe. And one more thing...Mr. Nanda doesn't seem to want to get better. We as doctors can only treat a patient so much. At some point the patients will power and will to live come into play. Mr. Nanda has no will to live, there for he is not fighting to stay alive and well. I understand that his life had turned upside down and he is not in a good place right now, but there is only so much we can do. He has to start fighting at some point or all of our attempts will remain futile.

Ranbir laughed to himself at the doctors words. "will to stay alive"...who was he kidding. Ranbir had nothing to live for and everyone knew that. First his love, his life, his soul mate was taken from him, his Kanya was taken from him. He managed to move on only because of their children. Sonny and Disha had given him hope and purpose and direction; just like Kanya had said they would. He had learned how to stay strong for his kids, he was all they had. He had his kids and his family who were there to support him. He thought that he would live the rest of his life for them, with their love and support. Now he didn't have that either. His entire family was taken from him in a flash. He had nothing left.

Sure he had money and power and fame. Along with that he also had pain, guilt, solitude, agony, remorse, regret and tears. His life was nothing with out love. Again he was alone, no one to call his own or to love. There was no place in this world for Ranbir Nanda if there was no place for his family. Who would he live for now, who would he come home to...home..ha...it wasn't home...it was just a house, just a structure...not a home with love and family. Nanda Mansion was just that...a mansion.

Ranbir just wished that Siddhart would be ok after he was gone. Even though Siddhart lived abroad, they were like brothers. Ranbir had only one concern and that was Siddhart, but he knew that Siddhart had his family and that they would make sure he would be ok.

Ranbir could feel his strength draining out of his body, he could feel his heart and soul giving up on life. Ranbir could see the white light that people always talked about. It was very surreal. Oddly he felt drawn to the light, like there was someone calling him from the other side. He could feel warmth and love radiating from the light. Ranbir knew deep in his heart that he should follow the light.......

This news just getting into our news room, coming directly from the head of the burn unit ICU at City Hospital, Business tycoon Ranbir Nanda has passed away about 30min ago. Doctor responded to his heart monitor flat line and immediately began code blue procedures. After trying to revive the patient for almost one hour, Dr. Sinnha called time of death at 11:33am April 29, 2008. Sadly he leaves behind no family or relatives, just his friend and confidant Siddhart Bali. We pray that he gets the peace that eluded him in life. Stay tuned for updates as soon as we get them.

A Ranbir walked into the light, he noticed that he was in all white. He looked around him and it looked like heaven...we so he thought. All around him was brightness, white brightness. It seemed like he was literally walking in air, on the clouds, because wisps of clouds floated all around him. He felt oddly at peace here. There was no more pain and anguish running through his body, just calm serenity. Confused as to what would happen next Ranbir took a few steps forward to try and explore his new surroundings. To Ranbir it seemed like he had been walking for quite a while when a faint laughter caught his attention. He stopped dead in his tracks. He knew that laughter, he knew who it belonged to...but no...that wasn't possible...but wait...could it be...no...but maybe...Ranbir broke out into a full out run turning his head furiously trying to locate the place where the sound was coming from. Suddenly Ranbir encountered a wall of white puff, clouds maybe...he wasn't sure. He was hesitant at first as to whether or not he should cross the barrier. Then he heard the laughter again, and he knew it was coming from the other side so he had to go.

Ranbir stepped over the threshold and waved his hands to clear up some of the fog. When is eyes finally settled on his surroundings he felt like he was kicked him his guts. There she was, in all her glory. The eyes he had searched for, the laughter he had died to hear once more, the lips he had wanted to kiss one last time, the face that haunted his dreams...there she was...there was his KANYA!!..She looked beautiful, and angelic just like she was, in a white sari and her maang filled with the blood red sindoor. He was so busy taking her in that he hadn't noticed other things around him. He focused and saw that at one side of Kanya stood Sonny, holding his mothers hand with a grin on his face. In her arms was Disha, looking content finally in her mothers arms. Behind them stood the rest of his family...all of them.

Ranbir slowly move towards them, afraid that they would disappear at any second. Kanya slowly put Disha down and whispered something to Sonnys ear, and Sonny took Dishas small hand into his own. Once he was standing in front of Kanya he didn't know what to do as she looked at him with a smile on her face....

K- Go ahead.
R- Huh? (it was heaven to hear her voice)
K- I know you want to touch me and make sure im real and that I wont vanish, so...go ahead.

Ranbir slowly raised both his hands and brought it close to Kanya's face but he hesitated. All of this felt so real and so right, if it was s dream and they gone when he woke up he would die. He had to do it, he had to be sure. Ever so gently Ranbir touched Kanya's cheeks. He was actually touching her, his hand was caressing the warm, smooth skin of her face. It was her, it was really her...his life was back...his Kanya was really in front of him. Tears escaped his eyes as he pulled Kanya into a body crushing hug. For the first time in years the tears escaping his eyes were those of joy, not sorrow. Reluctantly he pulled back, but his hands were still on her.

R- You are real, you are really here?
K- Yes jaan...im really here.
R- How...but...oh you don't know how much I have missed you.
K- I know, because I have missed you the same if not more.

Ranbir leaned in and placed a kiss on the lips he had never been able to forget. At first it was soft and tender, then as if a spark the kiss turned passionate. Years of passion and love were all coming out at this one moment. Ranbir opened his eyes and saw his children grinning behind them so he broke apart.

R- How is this possible?
K- Anything is possible...now that we are together again, we can all move on.
R- Together?
K- Yes together...i must say...you did a great job with the children. I really enjoyed listening to them when they talked to me.
R- You heard all that...did u hear me too?
K- Ofcourse I did...i was with u all the time...i know u felt me beside you.
R- I did...i always felt you because I had you with me right here...

Ranbir patted the usual pocket where he kept Kanyas mangulsutra, when he felt something was there. He looked at Kanya confused but all she did was smile. He looked in and pulled out the Mangulsutra from the pocket. He had it with him. He smiled at it once and then put it on Kanya once more...this time for good.

K- Are u ready?
R- Yes.....

Ranbir and Kanya walked over to the children and Ranbir picked up Disha who let out a cute laugh as her father cuddled her chubby cheeks. Kanya grabbed on to Sonny's hand with one hand while the other automatically found Ranbir's hand. Taking one long look at Kanya they moved in toward the endless path of white clouds.

Now Ranbir had it all. He had his Kanya and his children and his family. All the pain and sorrow was filled with love and joy. He was happy and content. He finally had in death what had eluded him in life, he had love...and this time...no one could take it away from him. He was reunited with his heart, his soul, his joy, life. Odd how he had found his life once again but in death. He had his Kanya...with him...hand in hand...forever...for all of eternity...Even death couldnt separate Ranbir and Kanya...even death had lost and bowed in front of their love for eachother....never again would the part...Never.....

RanKan FOREVER...and I mean FOREVER....
come day or night,
come rain or shine,
come love or hate,
come joy or sorrow,
come smiles or tears,
come life or death...

Rankan will be together....from now until eternity...that is their faith...that is their hope...that is their LOVE.....
