Introduction

Lakshya Virani – in his 20s, successful self made businessman, lives in New York

Krishna Tulsi a.k.a Kt – in her 20s, a sweet, cultured girl who is a doctor in training

Part 1

They both liked each other and were going out for a while.

But then Lakshya went on a business trip and after he came back Kt avoided him, and started to ignore him.

Lakshya called KT many times, however Kt never answered or replied.

Lakshya became very upset, but at the same time he was fed up and decided that he should move on

A few months passed. .

As Kt was still in training she had to work nights in the accident and emergency ward.

One night a man was brought in covered with blood. He had been involved in a car crash and he was in a grave condition.

When Kt saw his face she felt her heart sink.

She couldn't believe her eyes

That man was no other ……….. Than lakshya!!

Part 2

It hurt Kt to see Lakshya like this, even though they were no longer together, Kt still cared for Lakshya.

Before Kt had time to think further, Lakshya was rushed into the operation theatre, leaving her just standing there.

As Kt was still a junior doctor she didn't carry out any operations it was job to do the post operation jobs i.e. care for the patients.

The whole time Lakshya was in the theatre Kt's mind was there.
She was torn inside, with her conflicting feelings. Her heart was telling her to care for Lakshya but her mind was telling her to not as he had hurt her in the past.

She convinced herself though that on the basis of humanity she would worry about Lakshya nothing else.

At the same time she was hoping that she wasn't assigned Lakshya as a patient as she knew how hard it would be for her to cope. If she saw him again all her feelings for him that she had been trying to suppress would come flooding back to her.

Low and behold, straight after Lakshya's operation he was assigned as Kt's patient.

The first week they kept their talking to a minimum. Strictly professional, doctor - patient talk. There were a lot of awkward moments of silence and at times Kt could feel Lakshya gaze at her. But she refused to look at him straight into his what seemed to Kt tender, loving eyes as she knew this would just stir up feelings inside of her.

However whether Kt admitted it or not, being around him did make her feel different and she couldn't really deny her feelings for him either no matter how hard she tried.

One night Kt had finished her shift and she was on her way out of the hospital. All the patients were usually asleep at this time as it was quite late. She was switching the lights off in the wards, but then she saw Lakshya awake struggling to reach for a glass of water.

She couldn't bare to see him in so much pain. Those arms that were now even struggling to reach a glass of water, were those same arms that used to caress her and provide her with security.

She immediately ran to him and gave him the glass of water. He took a sip from it and then said
L:" Why are you here, I thought your shift was over"
K: " Yeah it is but I just thought I'd help you"
L: " Thanks but since when did you start caring about me so much" he retorted rudely
K: "What's that supposed to mean, I'm the one who's been looking after you for the past week"
L: "Yeah because that's part of your job description! I don't understand how People like you with such cold hearts can even be doctors "
K: "What's your problem! And just for the record if I do have a cold heart it's all because of you!"
L: "Me, what have I ever done to you, apart from care for you and love you. You're the one who broke my heart"
Kt was now on the verge of crying. She had tears streaming out of her eyes.
K: "I cared for you, I loved you do and what do I get in return a cheater!"
L: " What are you talking about. Cheater? When did I cheat on you hey?"
K: Forget about it, you're not going to except your fault

L: No go on tell me about me "cheating"
K: Look I don't want to discuss this any further. I'm going home.

As she turned to leave Lakshya held on to her hand, Kt stayed facing his back and said "Don't touch me, let go of my hand now!"
L: not until you tell me what I did to you

Kt by this time furious turned around to face Lakshya
As he had held her hand he had extended his arm so that his drip had fallen of him.
He had a lost of blood in the accident so he needed a transfusion

K: Are you crazy, your drips come off, you need that blood
L: I don't care, I'm not putting it back on till you tell me what happened
K: For god's sake fine! Do you remember that time you told me you had a business trip to Dubai and that you were going to go on Friday. Well you never ended up going did you, instead you spent Friday night alone with a girl in her house!
L: What how do you know?
K: So you admit it's true
L: Well yeah I admit it's true I didn't go to Dubai and yes I was at that girls apartment on Friday night alone with her. But it's not what you think
K: Oh really then what is it?!
L: Look my flight got cancelled and she lives near the airport so I just crashed at hers for the night. She's just a friend nothing else. She has a boyfriend anyways
K: Oh so you saying if she didn't have a boyfriend you would have gone out with her then
L: No, look she's just an old friend nothing else, and she's from Dubai and I wanted to buy a ring from Dubai so I thought as my flights got cancelled I'd ask her where to get a good ring from as I was meaning to do that in the first place. And we spent the whole night, I swear looking for the most amazing ring and we found it, I did buy it as well when I went to Dubai. But I guess then when I got back to London I realised I wouldn't be needing it anymore.

Kt didn't know what to say. She just kept silent. She just put the drip back onto Lakshya and walked straight out of the hospital.
