Chapter 3:

At the Godbole Residence Kanya is looking at the dark starry night with tears in her eyes.

Kanya thinks deep in her heart: mein Ranbir ke liye exist hi nahin hoti. Woh mujse bahut nafrath karta hai. Woh mera Izzath bhi nahin karta. Par aaj mein kyun uske bare mein soch rahi hoon. Kyun meri dil itni baari hai ki mujhe saase lena bhi mushkil hogaya. Jis insaan ke paas dil hi nahi hai mein us insaan se pyar karta hoon?? Lekin ab kya faida. Poora Nanda parivar mere khilaf hai. Aaj woh kush hai lekin mein (with a subtle smile in her face) aaj mere karate ke bina chain se sota hoga. Par kya mein aaj …… (she hears shantu and pooja laughing and coming to her room). She quickly wipes her tears and changes her expression. Shantu keeps teasing ranbir calling him a sandh and gadha. Kanya with a fake smile on her face brings out all her emotions on the window curtain and she literally tries to pull it apart. Pooja notices this and alerts shantu. Shantu continues with her conversation but observes Kanya's expression everytime she called ranbir a gadhah or a sandh. Kanya could not take it anymore.

Kanya: Shantu mujhe neend aa rahi hai. Kal baath karenge na. Please.

And she does not wait for their response either. She just leaves the room, goes to the washroom, locks the door and cries her heart out.

Pammi knocks on the door: Kanya beta.

Kanya with a weeping tone in her voice: Haan maa aa rahi hoon. Bas ho gaya. (She flushes the toilet, washes her face and walks out of the washroom.)

Pooja and Shantu notice this with a suspicious james bond look.

Shantu: dal mein kuch kala hai. Tumne kanya ko dekha. Bahut ajeeb hai.

Pooja: Haan shantu. Maine Kanya ko pehle aise kabhi nahin dekha. Jab ayan usko dokha diya tha thab bhi woh dukh thi lekin ithni nahin ro rahin thi. Pata nahin uske dil me kya hai.

Shantu: agar kanya us sand se…. nahin nahin aisa nahin ho saktha. Hamare kanya pagal thodi hai ki who us sand se… nahin nahin bilkul nahin.

Pooja: Haan Kanya ko akal hai. Lagta hai ki woh bahut takh gayi hai. Par agar shantu aisa ho gaya too….

Shantu and pooja share the same hilarious looks they had when ranbir proposed kanya for a contract marriage.

Pooja shantu and kanya all sleep in the same room. Pooja and shantu are fast asleep. Kanya tries to sleep but keeps turning left and right and ultimately wakes up from her bed. She goes to her backyard and sits there weeping. Pooja notices this and calls shantu who is deep in sleep karate maar maar kar.

Pooja: Shantu Uto na. karate maarna bandh kar aur uto.

Shantu: Kya baath hai. (looking at the clock) 1:00 baje hai. Kya baath hai. Itni subah kyun utha rahi ho. Mujhe sone do na……

Pooja: Shantu shantu. Kanya yahan nahin hai.

Shantu: toh mein kya karun. Kanya bathroom gayi hogi. So jao na.

Pooja: Woh to saare rath soyi nahin. Aur woh backyard mein hai.

Shantu: accha teekh hai…. Kya!!!! Backyard mein. Chalo chalo jaake dekhte hai.

They notice her lieing on the backyard bench. Her back is facing them so they do not notice her crying. When kanya hears theirs footsteps she quickly wipes her tears and pretends to sleep. Pooja wakes kanya up and asks her what she is doing here at this time.

Kanya: Woh di mujhe andar garam ho raha tha. Isliye mein baahar ayi.

Shantu: pagal ho gayi ho. Jao andhar jao. Itni der mein tum yahan so rahi ho. Samp aaa jayega. Chalo andar aur tum kamare mein so jao.

Shantu and pooja have this thoughtful look.

Shantu: Kya ho rahi hai kanya ko. Bahut ajeeb hai. Yeh ladki ko kya ho gayi hai.

Pooja: Chaliye andar chalte hai.

In the mean time Pooja's cellphone rings and she sees aditya's number.

Pooja: Aditya ithni der mein. Kyun phone kar raha hai.

Shantu: Kya aditya ka phone hai. Chalo answer karlo. Pata karte hai kya baath hai.

Pooja: Hello mr Aditya. Boliye kya baath hai. Itni der kyun phone kar rahe ho.

Adi: Shanta tai hai wahan pe.

Pooja: Haan.

Adi: teek hai. Accha hua. Mein aap donon se kal milna chahta hoon. Kya aap kal wahi jagah aa sakte hai jahan contract marriage ka baath hua tha. Kuch important baath hai. Please mana math keejiye. Ranbir aur kanya ke bare mein hai.

Pooja: Mujhe bhi aapse isi silsile mein kuch important baath karni thi. Hum zaroor ayenge. To kal hum susbah 9 baje wahin jagah par milenge.

Aditya: teekh hai. Thank you very much.

Pooja: thank you too. Shantu … aditya ka phone tha. Kal woh humse milna chahte hai. To chale.

Shantu: Haan zaroor chale. Kyun na chale. Humare kanya ka haal kuch teekh nahin hai. Pata karna hai ki who sandh ne hamare kanya par kya kaala jadu chalaya hai.

The scene ends with Shantu and pooja sharing their james bond look and aditya's concerned look.

CHAPTER 4

The next day morning Kanya and Ranbir get back to their regular duties after spending a sleepless night.

Ranbir: gets up and leaves to work very early in the morning to forget Kanya and concentrate on his work. He calls pooja to inform her about meeting him early in the morning to talk about a new news coverage.

Pooja: Hello.

Ranbir: Mein Ranbir bol raha hoon.

Kanya passes by pooja at this moment.

Pooja: Haan bolo ranbir. Kya baath hai. (She observes Kanya stop and look at pooja)

Pooja: Par ranbir.. Mein aaj jaldi nahin aa sakthi. Mujhe subah 9:00 baje ek important appointment hai. I am sorry ranbir.

Everytime kanya hears the word ranbir her leg stops moving, her heart starts beating faster and faster and a unique sensation travels through her body. Shantu watches kanya from another corner of the house. Shantu being a good observer watches every movement of kanya.

Pooja: teekh hai.. mein 12:00 baje aa jati hoon. Hum us project ke bare mein discuss karenge.

Pooja: (looking at kanya) Koi kaam tha.

Kanya: nahin di. Kuch nahin…. Mei nahane jaati hoon.

Pooja stares at kanya while shantu comes from behind and taps on her shoulder.

Shantu: Ye ladki ko Kya ho rahi hai? Chalo jaldi chalte hai. 9:00 am hamara appointment hai na woh aditya ke saath. Pata karna hai ki kya wahan pe bhi Yahi haal hai.

Shantu and Pooja leave early to meet Aditya. Kanya sees them and tells them that she will accompany them as well because she has to meet her friend. Shantu and Pooja do not know what to do because she was meeting her friend in the same mall where the coffee shop was located. Later they agree and take her along with them. While kanya goes to meet her friend in a book store located on the second floor Shantu and Pooja go to meet aditya in the coffee shop.

Aditya: Aayiye baitiye. Aap sab log kaise hai? Kanya kaisi hai?

Pooja: um sab log to teekh hai.

Shantu: Bas Kanya ka to kuch pata nahin. Woh kal raath se bahut ajeeb hai. Woh balon ki dukhan kaisa hai. Kush hoga… hum to wahan nahin hai. To bahut kush hoga.

Aditya: Tarasal…. woh ….. kush nahin hai. Kal rath se teekh tarah se soya nahin.

Shantu leans on pooja's shoulder and whispers: wahan pe bhi wahi haal hai. Kya ho raha hai pooja?

Pooja whispers back: pata nahin shantu. Zaroor kuch ho raha hai. (looking at aditya) lagta hai shantu ke bina bahut adoora mehsoos ka raha hai.

Shantu hearing this gives a surprised look at pooja. While pooja and aditya giggle.

Shantu leaning onto pooja's shoulder and whispers: Tu kya story mein naya twist laa rahi ho. Kuch triangle math banana.

Aditya: (smilingly) Shanta thai ko miss karata hai. (suddenly changing his expression). Par …. Woh kanya ko bahut miss karta hai. Pata nahin mein yeh baath kaise kahoon par lekin karna padega.

Shantu: kahadona. Aur intezaar hum bardash nahin kar sakte.

Aditya: (bringing the guts out off him he makes an effort to tell it for Ranbir's happiness). Ranbir ko hum rote huye kabhi nahin dekhe. Par lekin pehli baar meine use kal raath rote huye dekha. Mujhe uska haalath dekha nahin jaa saktha.

Shantu: To iskeliye hum kya kar sakte hai. Woh apne kiye ki sazaa bukhat raha hai.

Pooja: Aap saaf saaf kyun nahin bolte baath kya hai. Hum aur intezaar nahin kar sakte hai.

Aditya: Ranbir Kanya se pyar karta hai. Woh uske bina mar jayega…..

Shantu and Pooja do not show any reactions that surprises aditya. They look very calm and quite unlike before. He is surprised to see even Shantu sit quietly.

Pooja: mujhe pata tha. Kanya ki haalath dekh kar mujhe pata tha.

Aditya: aap kya kaha rahe hai. Kanya ki kya halath hai.

Shantu: are tere balon ki dukhan ke liye Kanya poori rath soyi nahin. Ro rooke takh gayi. Bathroom or backyard mein jaakar roti thi. Hume bhi yahin shak tha. Ab confirm ho gaya. Ab tumhare flop pictures ki tarah idea math dena. Ek accha idea dedo.

Aditya: kamal hai. Pehle hum us risthey ko thodney ke liye ideas doondthe the. Ab use ek banana ke liye master planning kar rahe hai.

Shantu: kya kare. Ab kanya bhi use pyar karthi hai. Karna padtha hai na.

Aditya: Mujhe lagta hai ki woh donon apne apne pyar ko chupa rahe hai. Unke ego beech me aa rahe hai. Isiliye hum unke ego ko tohodna padega. Iskeliye mere paas ek master plan hai.

Shantu: haan who ganputli bahut bhaav karta hai. Us Bandar ko neeche lana hai.

Pooja: arre shantu hamare kanya bhi manthi nahin na. bas ander hi ander apne aap ko takleef de rahi hai aur humko bhi.

Aditya: isliye mere paas ek master plan hai. he whispers something in their ears. And handsover the divorce papers.

Kanya who was done with her work sees aditya giving the divorce papers to pooja. She start weeping thinking that rannu does not love her anymore and he is trying to get rid of her from his life. That is the reason he gave her the divorce papers. She takes her cellphone and calls her friend.

Kanya: mein kanya bol rahi hoon.

Friend: haan bolo kanya. Abhi mile the. Kya baat hai.

Kanya: tumne woh job ke bare me bol rahi thi na. mein woh job accept karti hoon. Professor sahib se please baat karlo. Mujhe woh job kisi bhi halath mein chahiye. Mein kal hi Bangalore jaa rahi hoon aur job join kar loongi.

Her friend's father was kanya's professor who had connections in Bangalore and he got her a job as a hotel manager in Taj residency in Bangalore since she was a very bright student.

Friend: tum fikar mat kar. Mein aaj shyam ghar aakar tumhare appointment letter de deti hoon.

Hearing this kanya cuts the phone, walks to the coffee shop and storms to aditya's table. She takes the divorce papers and looks at aditya with tears in her eyes. With full of emotions she talks her heart off to aditya.

Kanya: accha … ab aap bade logon ko shadi koi mazakh ho gayi hai…. jab chahiye to beekh mangte hai aur jab chahiye to thodthe hai…. Mein bhi kitni badi paagal hoon… Woh kya kehte hai …. Level… Haan mein apne level ke baare mein sochi hi nahin. Kahan Ranbir nanda aur kanhaan kanya godbole…. Sirf bekaar me sapna dekh rahi thi …. Are jis insaan ko dil hi nahin hai woh insaan mujse pyar kyun karega?…jisko standard aur level bahut important hai usko ek chawl ki ladki sirf ek cheez hai na….. Woh kya kehate hai apke vocabulary mein?. … haan business deal … aaj woh ranbir nanda is business deal ko end karna chahta hai na?… Who saand yahi chahta hai na ki mein uski zindagi se kahi door chale jaoon…. Teekh hai mein bhi tayyar hoon …. Divorce den eke liye…. (this leaves the three muskiteeers shocked)….Mein to jaa rahi hoon

Pooja: kanya tumhe galath faimi huyi hai. Woh kya hai na…..

Kanya interrupts: di…. Please …. Meri dil itna kamzor nahin hai di…. Pehli baar ayan ne is dil ko chot pahuncha… ab ranbir…. Is dil ko pattar maar maar kar ye dil mazbooth ho gaya hai…. kehte hai pyaar do dilon ki baath hai … par yahan sirf ek dil bekar mein intezaar kar rahin hai…. Aur pyaar beekh mang kar nahin milte … woh to bas aapas mein ho jatha hai… bas yahi soch leti hoon ki meri kismath mein saccha pyar nahin likha hai.

Kanya grabs the divorce papers, weeps and signs it leaving the three musketeers in shock. She storms out of the coffee shop, takes an auto and leave. All through her journey she is crying and weeping profusely. (Now the song Ja Soona Soona lage plays in the background)

Shantu looking at Aditya with anger: ab kya kare. Hamara plan shuru karne se pehle hi fail ho gaya.

A guy with his legs on the table is reading a newspaper with looks like a gangster and the

Voice from behind says: kuch fail nahin hua. Picture Abhi bhi bakhi hai mere dost. Is Kahani ko apun ne shuru kiya ab ye prem kahani ko bhi apun hi katam karega.

Shantu and adi look surprised…..

Pooja: Kaun ho tum.

The man removes his newspaper and looks at them for the first time. with a stubborn smile on his face: "GURUUUUUUUUUU" Mein Guru… ayan ka kidnapper, yeh shaadi ka planner aur abh is problem ka solver.

They all look shocked........ FREEZE
