PART 23:

Dilip and Naina Bose were happy that Mishti was visiting some friends in Ooty. Dilip said, "lagta hai….Angad aur uska rishta ab normal pati-patni wala ho gaya hai….dekho ab wo baahar jaana bhi pasand karthi hai…..Angad khud usse apne friends ke yahan chhod karr aaya hai…."

Just then they received a call from Mishti. She sounded really happy and was excited to speak to both Naina and Dilip. She did not ask for Angad. When Dilip was hanging up, he glanced at the caller ID window of the phone- he was shocked to read "SAROVAR REHABILITATION INSTITUTE." Dilip stood frozen for a while and turned red in anger. He could not believe that his beloved daughter was at a psych rehab center! Angad had played such a game with him!

He tried to call Angad on his cell, but Angad was in surgery. He waited for him to come back but when he was still not home by midnight, he decided to go out to look for him.

Angad had just arrived at Kripa's after a grueling day at the hospital-she was just fixing dinner for him when they heard the doorbell.
"Main dekhta hoon…" Angad got up. It was unusual for Kripa to have any visitors this late.

Angad was shocked to see the visitor.

"Aap kya karr rahey hai yahan?" Angad asked angrily

Dilip was fuming with rage, "pehley tum bataao, tum kya karr rahe ho yahan?….Apni biwi ko door ek mental hospital mein bhej karr khud rang ralliyan mana rahe ho?"

"Dr Bose, aapko meri personal life mein dakhal andaazi deni ki koyi zaroorat nahin hai…..Mishti jahan bhi hai….khush hai…..aur wahin hai jahaan usse bahut pehle hona chahiye tha…..ab aap chaley jaaiye…." Angad said firmly

"Kaun hai Angad…..? Kripa came out and was shocked to see the visitor.

Dilip Bose gave a stern look at Kripa and then at Angad, "ab dekhna…Dilip Bose tumhara kya haal karta hai……you both disgust me!" Dilip turned around as Kripa tried to hide behind Angad's back.

Angad came back inside and put his arm around Kripa, "don't worry Kripa….wo hamara kuch nahin bigaad sakte…..jo unhoney hamare saath kiya hai….main unki asliyat….duniya ke saamne le aaoonga!" Kripa could sense the anger in Angad's voice.

Kripa could not control her tears, "Angad…mujhey darr lag raha hai….Dr Bose kuch bhi karr saktey hain….wo mujhey pehle bhi dhamki dekar gaye the…"

"Pehle?" Angad was surprised. "Mujhey kyon nahin bataaya?" he asked

"Wo…Angad….jab tum Ooty mein the…tab…..aur tum itney khush aaye the wahan se…..I did not want to upset you…." She hesitatingly told him.

Angad was worried about Kripa; he knew Dilip was capable of doing anything and would not think twice before hurting her again. "Kripa….main sab sambhaal loonga….tum sirf apna aur Prateek ka dhyaan rakho.." he kissed her eyes and wiped her tears, "don't worry jaan…..main hoon na" he consoled her like she was a little girl in his strong arms.

AT BOSE'S RESIDENCE:

Dilip Bose tried to contact Mishti and the doctors at the rehab center. He wanted her to be discharged immediately.

"Yes….Dr Bose…main Dr Mittal bol raha hoon……sorry sir, I understand but Mishti can only be discharged back to her husband…..unhoney hi papers par sign kiya hai….main jaanta hoon aap Mishti ke pita hain par trust me sir….she is doing very well….and is very safe here….Goodnight Sir!" Akash Mittal hung up the phone on his nightstand.

Dilip Bose was very humiliated, "how dare Angad go behind my back……I take decisions for my daughter….wo kaun hotha hai!"

Naina, who was in bed, woke up, "Dilip….aaj tak Angad ney Mishti ki health ko kabhi neglect nahin kiya….may be you should trust him….kuch soch samajh karr hi usney Mishti ko wahan bheja hai….."

"Mishti ko bhej kar…..wahan wo Kripa ke saath aish karr raha hai…." Dilip was still furious.

Naina was shocked, as she had not heard anything about Kripa being back in Angad's life. Her evil side took over, "Dilip, mere paas ek tareeka hai…..main jaanti hoon Kripa ko kis baat se sabse zyaada taqleef hothi hai…."

Next day, Kripa received a certified letter addressed to Angad. She was going to open it but then decided against it. She knew Angad would never mind, but somehow there were some rights only a legally wedded wife could have…..

When Angad came to see her that evening, he opened the letter, "Kripa…tum bhi khol sakthi thi letter….tumhey poora haq hai…." He said putting an arm around her and sat down. Kripa saw his expression change; he took his arm from around her and got up. He had a serious look, picked his bag and walked to the door, "I am glad tumney nahin khola letter…." He left quickly without giving any explanation. Kripa tried to follow him but he was gone before she knew it. She tried calling him on his cell but he was unavailable. "Aisa kya hai uss letter mein..?" she got worried but was soon distracted by Prateek, "Mama….mujhey yeh homework samajh nahin aa raha…"

After putting Prateek to bed, she tried to call Angad several times, but was unsuccessful. She finally re assured herself, "kuch important hoga tho khud bataa dega" and dozed off…..

Next day, as she was getting Prateek ready for school, she received a call from Harshini.

"Kripa….tumhey pataa hai…Dr Dilip Bose ney Angad parr kya charge lagaa diya hai…?"

"Nahin…kya hua….Angad ney tho kuch nahin bataaya…"

"Well…Kripa this is bad news….Dr Bose has complained to the Indian Medical Board that Angad is having an illegitimate and unethical relationship with a patient. Tum tho jaanti ho Kripa…..that can cost him his license if Dr Bose is able to prove that…..Angad kahan hai..?"

Kripa was not listening anymore; the phone handset slipped out of her hands as she stood there in shock.

"Mama…chalo…school bus kaa time ho gaya……" Prateek shook her hand.

"Haan…haan…beta…chalo" she wiped a tear from her eyes and left with Prateek. She cancelled all her patient appointments at her clinic and left for the hospital. She went to Angad's office but there was a lock at the door. She asked Angad's assistant, 'Dr Angad Khanna…kahaan hai?"

"Madam….wo indefinite vacation parr gaye hain…unka morning mein phone aaya tha….humein bahut problem ho gayi hai….itni saari surgeries cancel karni padh rahi hain…" she seemed in a hurry and in no mood to talk anymore.

Kripa had no choice but to go to the Bose's house. She was greeted by a servant at the door, "Please aaiye madam….main dekhta hoon ki chote doctor sahib hain ya nahin…"

Kripa was hesitant to come in but decided to wait inside.

"OH!…tum yahan tak aa gayi…?" Kripa turned around to see Dilip Bose.

"Main….Angad se milney…" she said softly with her eyes buried in the ground.

"Hmm…raat tho wo tumharey saath hi bitaa tha hai….hum se zyaada tho tumhey uski khabar honi chahiye…" he said sarcastically.

Kripa looked up and was about to say something when she heard Angad's voice from upstairs, "Kripa….I am coming down in a few minutes…you don't have to answer his questions.."

"Kya yaarana hai dono mein….?" Dilip Bose again taunted. "Ab tho Indian Medical Board ko hi jawaab dena tum dono…." He walked away leaving Kripa tearful.

Angad came down and put his arm around Kripa, "chalo, let's go…"

They arrived at Kripa's place.

"Angad…ab kya karengey? Tumhara poora career khatam ho sakta hai….you know how strict they are about this kind of stuff.."

Angad looked worried but stayed quiet. He stayed back with Kripa all day as they thought of various solutions to this problem.

They were shocked to read the headlines in the local evening newspaper- REPUTED NEUROSURGEON, DR ANGAD KHANNA CHARGED WITH ABUSING PATIENT-DOCTOR RELATIONSHIP BY HAVING SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH PATIENT! All the major TV channels also carried the same sensational news that night. The articles and news stories showed pictures of Angad and Kripa together….they also had pictures from their honeymoon in Ooty…..Dilip Bose had spies everywhere!!!

Kripa started sobbing as she read the article. Dilip Bose could do anything….he knew he was not only ruining Angad's career but also his daughter's life….how did he expect that Angad would do anything for Mishti after this charge….if Dilip Bose thought this accusation would separate Kripa from Angad….HE WAS WRONG! Kripa wiped her tears and she knew she would have to act fast and once again save Angad's future……

The next day, Angad had set up some meetings with lawyers and was out all day. When he came back, he saw that Kripa and Prateek were not there. Most of her clothes and Prateeks's belongings were not there either. He got worried. He called Harshini, "Harshini….Kripa aur Prateek kahan gaye hain?"

"Angad…kya hua? Mujhey nahin pata…..she did not say anything…except aaj morning mein keh rahi thi ki she will have to do something drastic to get you out of this mess…..don't worry wo aa jaye gi…" Harshini reassured him.

Angad waited all night and next day but there was no news from Kripa. Her mobile was also switched off!

Harshini came over, "Angad….tumney kya haalat bana rakhi hai…..lagta hai na soye ho, na khana khaya hai……Kripa tumhey chhod karr kahin nahin jaayegi….I trust her….just give her sometime…chalo mere ghar chalo…..I will fix something for you…."

Angad's eyes were red and swollen but Harshini got scared when she saw the rage in his eyes, "Harshini….yeh kaisa pyaar hai….jab bhi mujhey Kripa ki sabsey zyaada zaroorat hothi hai…..wo meri zindagi se kyon chali jaati hai….uskey jaane sey kya mujhey apna license waapas mil jaayega? Kum se kum wo saath hothi tho mujhe kuch sahara rehtaa…parr tumhari saheli mujhe kabhi samajh nahin paayi…….saath dene ki jagah usney hamesha mera saath chhod diya hai…" he started sobbing as Harshini tried to console him.

"Angad…please…dekho yadi wo hamesha ke liye gayi hothi…to muhje zaroor bata ke jaati…..just have patience….may be she does not want the press and news to find her here at your residence? Have faith in her…."

The sleepless nights and the recent stress had blurred Angad's thinking. He got up and started throwing things around…he broke several flower vases and destroyed pictures hanging on the wall despite Harshini's protests and efforts to restrain him.

"Harshini…please go away….let me be alone….I don't need you and your sympathies…..GET OUT!!!" Harshini was shocked and left to get Shabbir.
