hey dear nice parts its really awesome. that idiot dilip he is so stupid he is just ruining his daughter's life. stupid. looks like kripa is missing i think probable she is upto with something like probably she will find some evidence to prove angad. i hope so

PART 24:

Shabbir and Harshini came back to find Angad in a stupor, lying on the living room floor with an empty wine bottle in his hand. They picked him up and carried him back to bed.

Next day, Angad apologized to both Harshini and Shabbir but was still upset with Kripa. He tried to find out about her whereabouts from her clinic in the neighboring hospital but they were unaware too.

Over the next few days, he channeled all his energies to defend his case in front of the Licensing Board. They were going to hold their enquiry in a few days.

THE INTERROGATION/ENQUIRY:

Angad was placed on a chair in the center of a room. A number of distinguished, gray haired doctors, who were directors of the Medical licensing board were bombarding Angad with several questions about his professional and personal life. Dilip Bose, as dean of the BMI was also present in the room. He had a smirk on his face when he saw Angad in the "hot seat."

"Hmm…we see you are quite a reputable Neurosurgeon…in fact you have won many awards at your young age…Good!" said one of the directors.

"But, there is a charge from several of your colleagues and staff at the BMI, that you have engaged in a physical and sexual relationship with a patient of yours…is that right?"

Angad kept quiet but then said, "actually, I can explain…she and I…"

"Please answer YES or NO, was Kripa Sharma your patient?"

"No, her son is.." he corrected them

"Well…for all practical purposes that should be a YES!" said one of the directors

"Did you engage in a close physical relationship with Ms, err..Dr. Kripa Sharma? YES or NO?"

"YES….I did" Angad replied curtly.

"You understand, Dr Khanna that engaging in such a relationship is a violation of the doctor-patient relationship as per the licensing board of Medicine and your license can be revoked indefinitely, which means you can never practice medicine in this country!"

"I understand.." Angad' voice cracked as he could see his lifelong dream shattering in front of his eyes. Dilip Bose was joyous, as one would be after winning a battle! Angad gave him a dirty look and just swallowed his pride quietly.

"OK..our committee will now adjourn and send you our final verdict by certified mail in 5-7 business days.." the directors were ready to get up when a peon came in with a message. "Ok…andar bhej do…" said one of the directors.

The door opened and everyone saw a woman walk in towards the center of the room. Angad had his eyes fixated on the ground, as he was feeling very humiliated and broken after possibly being stripped of his licensure and self-respect.

"Please sit down Dr Sharma…" said one of the directors. Angad looked up when he heard the name and saw Kripa sitting across from him. She was looking at him with moist eyes; he could not help feeling tearful himself…..his anger towards her suddenly melted….

"Dr Sharma…aap Dr Khanna ke defence mein kuch kehna chahti hain….please make it brief as we have other cases waiting outside….aap bataiye, aapka Dr Khanna sey patient honey ke alaawa kya rishta hai….did he ever take advantage of you….I mean ….did you have an intimate physical relationship with him when your son was still his patient…..?"

"Jee….Dr Angad ke saath mera rishta bahut intimate tha aur hamesha rahega….wo mere pati hain!" Everyone was shocked to hear that. Angad looked at her with tears in his eyes.

"Dr Sharma….do you understand what you are saying…Dr Khanna is already married …unki shaadi ko 6 saal ho gaye hain…."

"Yes….I understand what I am saying….meri unsey shaadi ussey bhi pehle huyi thi….he is my husband and the father of our only son, Prateek!" she said trying to hold her tears from rolling down.

"Do you have any proof of that marriage, Dr Sharma?"

"Yes sir…." Angad was shocked as he knew what Kripa was talking about…their little ceremony at the temple in Madhupur …how could she ever prove that…??

Kripa got up and summoned an elderly gentleman to come in side. Angad looked at him carefully, he looked familiar….was he the priest from that temple?

"Sir…yeh wo pandit hain jinhoney hamari shaadi karwayi thi….aap chahey tho poonch sakthey hain insey…"

They questioned the priest, "Aap ke mandir mein tho bahut saare log aatey hain…aap ko theek se kaise yaad hai ki in dono ki aapney shaadi karwayi thi?"

"Babuji…aapney sahi kaha…hamare mandir mein bahut premi aatey hain , koyi ghar sey bhaagkar ya koyi aise hi hamare mandir mein shaadi karwaane aatey hain…mujhey in dono ka yaad hai…maine hi inki shaadi karwayi thi aur aashirwaad diya tha…main inhey kabhi nahin bhoola kyonki aaj tak yahi aise insaan hain jo apne pita ki akhiri nishaani, unki ghadi mujhe dakshina ke roop mein de gaye the….dekhiye Angad sahib ka aur unkey pita kaa naam ghadi ke peeche likha hai….." he took out the watch and gave it to the directors.

The directors scrutinized the watch and returned it back to the priest.

"Do you have any witness to this marriage, Dr Sharma?" they asked

"Yes, sir" Kripa pointed at the door and everyone saw Harshini entering the board room.

"Sir, I was posted with Dr Khanna and Dr Sharma at that time and I was a witness to their marriage" Harshini was of course not present at the temple due to her father's illness but she justified the lie as she had practically seen them live like a married couple and she was would do anything to support their love!

"Dr Sharma…phir aap Dr Khanna sey alag kyon ho gayi thi….phir Dr Khanna ney bhi shaadi karr lee baad mein….do you have an explanation?"

"YES I DO!" Kripa looked at Dilip Bose and told them the truth about how Dilip had forced her to leave Angad forever, so Mishti could marry Angad in exchange for a position in the Neurosurgery program for him. Dilip Bose got up to defend himself, "how can you believe a woman like that…..she is a liar and characterless person…she was thrown out of her college…."

Before he could complete his sentence, Dr Karthik Pandey and Dr Gupta from the BMI came forward, "That is not true sir…we were forced to lie about Dr Sharma so that we could keep our jobs..now we are revealing the truth as Dr Khanna is a very respectable and valuable member of our team and we could not see him getting destroyed by Dr Bose's schemes again!"

Angad was pleased to see the support from his colleagues. He nodded his head in gratitude and wiped his tears.

"After hearing everyone's point of view, the board of directors will sit down and review this case again….till then Dr Khanna may be allowed to practice surgery but under probation." They all got up and left. Dilip Bose was red with anger…he came up to Karthik and Dr Gupta, "I can't believe it….you are taking his side…you know I am the Dean!"

Karthik replied, "Dr Bose, we are tired of your devious ways…I think we are all ready for a change…" he smiled and walked towards Angad. Karthik and Dr Gupta shook hands with Angad and left. Harshini hugged Kripa and then went up to Angad, " Angad maine kaha tha naa…have faith in Kripa" she squeezed his hand and then left them alone.

Angad and Kripa stood alone in the room for a while. Kripa came close to Angad, "main jaanti hoon tum mujhsey naaraz ho…main bina bataaye phir chali gayi…parr tumhey bataati tho tum mujhey akele nahin jaane dete…aur tumhara aise mauke parr Institute chhod ke jaana tumhare case ke khilaaf ja sakta tha…iss liye…phir mujhe panditji ko dhoondney mein thoda zyaada time lag gaya…warna tho main pehle hi wapas aa….." Angad put his finger on her lips as she started sobbing.

"I don't need any explanation Kripa….mujhey tum parr kabhi shaq nahin karna chahiye….I know whatever you do, you have my best interest in it….main hi pagal hoon jo kabhi tumhare pyaar ko samajh nahin pata…hamesha tumhey galat samajh leta hoon…." He hugged her passionately and buried his tears in the thick of her hair.

They walked out of the boardroom, arm in arm. "Kripa tum ghar jao…main apna saaman lene jaa raha hoon…" he kissed her and waved goodbye as she left with Harshini.

PART 25:

When Angad reached the Bose's house to collect his belongings; he was shocked to see Mishti waiting in the living room. She was not alone; Dr Akash Mittal was also there.

"Mishti….tum kab aayi ? …..main tumhey laney aa jata….." Angad tried to explain

"Angad…..I am sorry…..main tumhey bina bataaye wapas aa gayi…." Mishti interrupted Angad, "I need to tell you something important……main jaanti hoon tum mujhsey kitna pyaar karte ho…..parr mujhey ab Akash sey pyaar ho gaya hai…." She pointed at Dr Mittal, who just smiled and nodded his head.

"Akash bhi mujhey bahut pyaar karte hain….we want to get married Angad" she continued.

Mishti's words were music to his ears. He was surprised that Mishti was still under the illusion that Angad loved her, but he was in no mood to clarify things to her; he was happy she had found someone who loved her as much as she loved him.

He squeezed Mishti's hand, "Mishti, I am very happy for you….Akash is a very lucky man!" He then shook Akash's hands and whispered, "Thank you Akash….I will always be grateful to you…." Akash nodded his head, as he understood why Angad was really thankful. Akash was aware of Angad and Kripa's relationship, he also knew about the recent accusations on Angad and he had just found out about Angad's first marriage from a furious Dilip, who had just come back from the hearing.

He took Angad aside and said, "Angad, I am happy for you….main jaanta hoon tumney itney saal Mishti ka bahut achcha dhyaan diya hai….parr ab wo meri responsibility hai….I want to give her all the love she deserves as a woman and a wife…she is special to me…" Angad had tears in his eyes; he hugged Akash and congratulated him once again. He looked at Mishti and smiled at her, "Mishti, I just want you to be happy…..don't worry about me….." Angad did not feel the need to tell her any more details.

He walked upstairs to collect his belongings. He thought, "everyone deserves to be loved in this world….I am glad Mishti has found true love after all…."

As he was about to leave, Mishti gave him an envelope. He opened it to find divorce papers. She said, " Angad, please tell Kripa that main uski amanat usse waapas karr rahi hoon…." Angad smiled through his tears, and did not argue with her; he just thought, "Main tho hamesha Kripa kaa hi tha…tumhara kabhi tha hi nahin Mishti…" he knew that her Schizophrenia was treatable but not curable…..some illusions would probably never go away…..but he did not care…..at this point he was not even sure that a divorce would be needed if his marriage to Kripa would be accepted by law…..either way, he was the happiest man on earth today…..and could not wait to get back to his love….

Angad arrived at Kripa's home…..or rather, their home. Kripa opened the door and helped Angad bring his entire luggage inside.

"Kripa….main hamesha ke liye tumhare paas aa gaya hoon." Angad put his bags down and put his arms around Kripa's waist.

"Parr….Angad…tum Mishti ko kya jawaab dogey?"

Angad took out the divorce papers from his pocket and held it in front of Kripa.

"Angad…legally you can't divorce a mentally handicapped wife…"

"Kripa….I was never married to her….yadi hamari Madhupur waali shaadi kanoon ke saamney kabool ho jaati hai tho…these papers are not needed but if not….then Mishti herself wants the divorce as she is getting married to Dr Akash Mittal…" Kripa could not believe what she heard. She had been waiting for this day for a long time….the day she could call herself Angad's legally wedded wife. Even though she knew they belonged to each other but the knowledge that they would be united in front of the society gave her great sense of relief…..she would not have to hear anymore gossip about her relationship with Angad…..Prateek could legally be Angad's son…..and she his wife…..She buried her head in his chest and started sobbing, "Angad….mujhey kabhi umeed nahin thi….."

"Kripa….yeh haq hamesha tumhara hi tha….. jahan sachcha pyaar hotha hai….wahan raaste apney aap ban jaate hain….chahey der se hi….dekho main tumhare liye kya layaa hoon?" he dug into his pocket and took out a box. He slipped a ring into Kripa's finger and kissed all her fingers one by one…..

Prateek walked in, " Doctor Uncle! Aap sirf mama ko kissy kyon de rahe hain…main bhi tho itney din baad mil raha hoon aapsey…." He ran and hugged Angad. Angad picked him up and showered him with kisses too, " Achcha Prateek yeh batao….tumhey Prateek Khanna naam kaisa lagta hai?"

"Prateek Khanna? Wo kaise…aap tho mere papa nahin ho, doctor uncle…"

"Parr..yadi ban gaya tho?" Angad smiled

Prateek's face lit up; "sach! Doctor uncle?" he could not believe his ears

"Doctor uncle nahin…aaj sey tum mujhey PAPA bulaana…OK" Angad placed him down on the floor and mischievously smiled at Kripa, "kyon, Dr (Mrs) Khanna aapko tho koyi aitraaz nahin?"
Kripa smiled back and hugged him passionately.

Prateek ran to his room as he was very excited and wanted to call his "Harshini bua" to give her the good news.

Angad kissed Kripa on her lips, "Kripa main chahta hoon hum teeno yahan se kahin door chale jayein…."

"Parr…tumhara job tho yahin hai….BMI chhod ke kaise jaa sakthe ho….you have to become the country's best neurosurgeon…" Kripa was surprised at Angad's comment.

"Nahin…mujhe iss desh ka nahin balki iss duniya kaa sabsy achcha pati aur pita ban na hai….neurosurgeon tho main kahin bhi reh karr ban saktha hoon….main BMI mein nahin rehnaa chahta…jis jagah mere pyaar ki aur tumhari itni dis respect huyi hai….wahan main nahin reh saktha…main aaj hi apna resignation de aaya hoon…." Angad kissed her again and did not let go of her; he held her face close to his….. "Kripa…..I love you a lot….tumharey bina main paagal sa ho jatha hoon…please promise to never leave me again…."

Kripa whispered, " Main tumhey ek aur baat bataana chahti hoon….ab main chhod ney ki soch bhi nahin sakthi kyunki….kyunki…..main do bachchon ko akele nahin sambhal sakthi …" she blushed and buried her face in his chest.

Angad was in seventh heaven, he lifted Kripa and twirled her around and laughed joyfully. "Kripa…Kripa….is that true?….I am going to be a dad again…..this is the best news I have heard today…better than anything….you know main apni beti ka naam Diya rakhoonga…"

"Beti? Diya? ….abhi sey kaise pata tumhein?"she had a puzzled look

"Main jaanta hoon…mujhe bahut experience hai…." He winked

"Achcha…yeh kaun si medical textbook main likha hai?" she challenged him

"Madam….tum aaj itni khubsoorat lag rahi ho….isska matlab beti hi hai….yeh Dr Angad Khanna ki textbook mein likha hai….GOT IT!" They both laughed as they remembered how Angad used to boss around by saying "GOT IT!" after every sentence when they were both students.

A FEW DAYS LATER:

Angad had been acquitted of all the charges against him. His license was re instated again but he had made up his mind to resign from BMI. His department and colleagues were heartbroken but he was firm about his decision.

Mishti and Angad did get a formal divorce after which Angad and Kripa had their marriage registered legally so that no one would ever point fingers at their relationship.

Mishti moved to Ooty after getting married to Dr Mittal. She soon discovered that she was also pregnant with Akash's child. Mishti's illness remained stable for a long time. Akash Mittal recognized her early symptoms of relapse and would stay on top of her treatment.

Dilip Bose was forced to take an early retirement by the Board of the BMI. Dr Gupta became the new dean. Dilip and Naina moved to the US to live with their son, Prithvi (sorry Prithvi fans, I did not elaborate on his character as I could not find an appropriate role for him), who was a cardiac surgeon in Washington.

Angad and Kripa moved to Darjeeling as there was a new state of the art medical facility coming up there. Some NRI doctors had invested in that facility to make it into a tertiary care center for advanced medical care for people from all over the country. Angad was asked to start their neurosurgery program there. Kripa worked as a pediatrician there. They did indeed have a daughter who was promptly named 'Diya" by Angad, before Kripa could change his mind.

Thanks everyone for reading and appreciating my fan fic. I hope I could convey to everyone that if one finds true love in this world, recognize it and stick to it…..IT IS GOOD TO SACRIFICE IN LOVE BUT NEVER SACRIFICE YOUR LOVE ITSELF! Angad and Kripa were lucky to get another opportunity to be together…not everyone is that lucky but at the same time…as they say …TRUE LOVE ALWAYS FINDS ITS WAY…..
