Part 28
The next day KK gets ready and leaves to pick up Roshni and Prem, he arrives at Roshni's house and waits for her in the car, she comes and sits in
R - I half thought you wouldn't turn up
KK - I said sorry about the yesterday didn't I?
R - yeah ok....
KK drives to Prem's house and picks him up and drives them to the restaurant, they all go in
KK - reservation for Kunal Khanna
The waitress shows them to their table and hands them menus, Prem looks around
Pr - this looks like a very expensive place
KK - don't worry, its all on me
Pr - yeah but still....we could have gone somewhere less fancy
R - you don't know KK....fancy is his middle name
KK - very funny....anyways Prem, I'm really sorry for not turning up to the museum
Pr - chill KK its cool
KK - ok, so tell us more about yourself
Pr - what's there to tell....I used to live in Canada but moved here
R - why would you move here from Canada? I've heard its a beautiful place
Pr - it is.....but India is our home
R - that's so sweet
KK sits back and watches Prem and Roshni talk to each other about India, he smiles when his phone rings, Roshni looks at him
KK - hello?....Dad.....yeah what's up? what now? But I'm.....ok I'll be there
KK hangs up, he looks at Prem and Roshni
KK - I'm really sorry guys, that was Dad, he wants me home right now, something about a party
R - but...ok then we'll go
KK - no you guys stay
KK calls the manager over
KK - these two are my personal friends, make sure they receive the best treatment and make sure they don't leave without having a full meal and desert too.....send the bill to my house
The manager agrees and leaves, KK looks at Roshni
KK - don't worry, I'm sure you will have a good time with Prem
Pr - its a shame you have to leave
KK - yeah....do me a favour and drop Roshni home safely please
Pr - of course
R - see you tomorrow
KK - yeah see you
KK leaves, Roshni looks at Prem and smiles
R - so you study art don't you?
Pr - yeah I love painting
R - what kind of things do you paint?
Pr - mostly landscapes
R - wow
Pr - yeah.....so you and KK are best friends right?
R - yeah we've grown up together
Pr - really? who else is there.....I mean I've only met you and KK
Roshni begins telling him about their families and Prem then tells her about his family, meanwhile at the door KK is standing watching them, he smiles and leaves. Slowly three weeks pass by and over the three weeks Prem and Roshni get even closer, KK is happy seeing her with him, Tia's birthday is coming and Aryan and Ria plan to tell their parents about them on the day, the Saturday before Tia's birthday, KK gets up early and gets changed, Karan sees him and looks confused
Kar - where are you off to this early in the morning?
KK - its that art convention today
Kar - oh right, the one you take Roshni to every year?
KK - yeah that one, I'm going to pick her up
Kar - well in that case, can you take me with you and pick Ria and Tia up on the way before you go to hers?
KK - why?
Kar - because, me, Tia , Aryan and Ria are having lunch together
KK - ok come on
KK and Karan leave, they go to pick up Tia and Ria then leave for Aryan's house, they all go inside, KK stand sby the stairs and calls out to Roshni, he calls her again and Aryan and Kashish come
Ka - Roshni's gone KK
KK - what!
Aryan glances at KK and watches his reaction
Ka - yeah she's gone....
KK - but we're meant to go to the art convention
Ka - I know....but I think she's gone to the convention with that nice boy....what's his name Aryan?
Ar - Prem
KK looks at Aryan, he slowly nods his head and leaves, Aryan watches him go and sighs and leaves with the others, KK goes to the convention, he meets the owner outside
KK - has Roshni come here?
O - yes Mr Khanna, usually I have both your passes ready, when Miss Garewal came, I gave her pass to her and had to issue another pass for her friend since you were not with her
KK - where are they?
O - I think they're inside looking at the still life paintings
KK - ok thanks
KK takes his pass and goes inside to look for them, he goes to the still life paintings section and is shocked to see Roshni and Prem hugging, he watches for a second until Prem stands in front of Roshni and leans towards her, KK gets angry, he runs over and pulls Prem off Roshni
KK - get away from her!
R - KK what are you doing?
Pr - KK I was just....
KK - I know what you were doing! stay away from her I mean it
The security guards come and force them to leave, outside Roshni looks at KK angrily
R - what the hell is wrong with you!
KK - me? what's wrong with you? what the hell are you doing here with him?
R - what's wrong with Prem?
KK - nothing! but you always come here with me!
R - so? just because I come here with you doesn't mean I can't come here with anyone else
Pr - yeah KK you're over-reacting
KK - you butt out
R - why are you so angry? and why did you pull him off me?
KK - because he was about to kiss you!
R - so what? if he kisses me then why does it bother you?
KK - because...
R - because what?
KK looks elsewhere, Roshni makes him look at her
R - tell me....why is it a problem if Prem kisses me?
Pr - because he's in love with you
KK - what? no....you're wrong
Pr - am I? then why do you have a problem with me being here with her?
KK - because I always come here with her
Pr - yeah but you hate this kind of stuff....then why do you bother coming here?
KK - because Roshni likes this stuff
Pr - and because you're in love with Roshni you bring her here to make her happy
KK - look I said you're wrong...I'm not in love with her
Prem makes KK look at Roshni
Pr - look in to her eyes and say you don't love her
KK looks down then looks up at Roshni, he opens his mouth to say something but doesn't say anything
Pr - see you can't say it....because you love her! admit it KK!
KK - no...I don't
Pr - stop lying KK....if you didn't love her then it wouldn't bother you if i kissed her
KK is silent
Pr - fine then...if it doesn't bother you then I will kiss her
Prem pulls Roshni closer to him but before he can do anything KK pulls him off her
Pr - what happened KK? why won't you let me kiss her?
KK - because you're right! I do love her! I am in love with her!
Roshni opens her eyes widely, she looks at KK who comes closer to her, he touches her face
KK - I love you Roshni.....I don't think even I knew when I fell in love with you....but I am...deeply and madly
KK moves closer and kisses her, Roshni smiles and hugs him, she looks at Prem, he smiles and puts his arm around her
Pr - see I told you he loves you, he just needed to realise it for himself
KK - wait...what?
Pr - I figured you loved her the first time I met you....they way you looked at her when you spoke to her...but at that time you didn't think you did.....and after I spoke to Roshni, she told me she loved you so I told her that we should make you realise you love her
R - sorry KK...
KK - so all this......you two getting closer....coming here....kissing....no, almost kissing....
Pr - was all an act, just to get you to realise your true feelings for Roshni
R - actually it was Heer who gave Prem the idea
KK - Heer?
Pr - yeah Heer...she's my fiance
KK - fiance? but you never told me you were engaged
Pr - you never asked...anyways sorry for what we've put you through but both me and Roshni agreed that you needed to know the truth
KK glares at Roshni
KK - wasn't it you who said you weren't bothered if I loved you or not? so what was all this?
R - yeah at first it didn't......but then you went and became an idiot by trying to set me up with Prem
KK - wait how did you find out that I was setting you up?
R - you're forgetting that I know you better than you know yourself.....and it was obvious...remember you kept rambling on about finding me a boyfriend.....then you introduced me to Prem, I thought you were just being nice to him because he was new....but then you went and sent us both to the museum but stayed home yourself and that was when I figured you were trying to set us up......
KK smiles
R - and it helped that I bumped in to Amit who told me he never met you yesterday
KK - he did what? I'm going to kill him....I told him to back my story up....
R - whatever
KK - ok ok I'm sorry...and Prem..thanks
Pr - no problem.....you guys should finish seeing the convention...I'm going home
KK - yeah I don't think they'll let us back in
Pr - ok....see you then
Prem hugs Roshni then shakes KK's hand, after he leaves KK looks at Roshni and hugs her
R - you're an idiot you know that
KK - why?
R - how could you not know you loved me?
KK - because I'm KK....I go out with girls everyday....how do I know what love is
R - right...so how am I meant to know if you meant what you just said.....you could have said it to shut Prem up
KK - but I did....
R - yeah right
Roshni walks away, KK sighs and runs after her, Roshni sits on a bench in a park, KK stands behind her and begins singing Tu Meri Dost Hai from Yuvvraaj

He puts her in the car and drives off, later both of them are sitting on KK's bed facing Aryan, Karan, Ria and Tia, each of them equally shocked to find out what happened, Tia is the first to break the silence

The others look at her, she grins at Karan
T - didn't I tell you...I said they would fall in love....now you owe me dinner
KK - what is she talking about?
Karan is silent for a second but remembers
Kar - you remember in Goa, me and Tia went for a walk
KK - yeah
Kar - well, I told her what you told me, about Roshni loving you....and she said that you wuld fall in love but I said you wouldn't.....so we had a bet
KK - what you mean I wouldn't fall in love with her? am I not capable of falling in love?
Kar - ....I never thought you were
R - whatever....anyways Ria...you're silent...why?
Ri - because....I'm....gabberflasted...
Aryan and the others look at her weirdly, he slowly pats her hand
Ar - you mean flabbergasted....
Ri - yeah that.....whatever...I'm shocked...KK falling in love...
R - yeah....I know....I never thought he would either
Aryan finally gets up from Karan's bed, he goes over to KK and gets him from the bed and faces him
Ar - just so you know.....if you ever....and I mean EVER....hurt my sister, I will kill you....and bury you so deep in the ground that Karan will never be able to find you
KK looks at Roshni with his eyes wide open
KK - erm...point noted....
Ar - apart from that....congratulations...you've finally found one girl to stick to
R - very funny
While the guys are discussing KK and Roshni's relationship, Angad comes in to the room, the others suddenly go quiet, he looks at them suspiciously but calls Karan outside
A - just so you know...I've spoken to my future daughter-in-law's parents...and we've agreed to make the announcement of your engagement on Tia's birthday....I mean what better day to tell everyone
Kar - dad that's great...thanks
Karan hugs him, Angad goes off, Karan goes inside and informs the others
Ar - well I guess we all agree that on Tia's birthday we'll all tell our parents about us
KK - definately
Karan and Tia hug ach other thinking about their engagement.
Coming up - Tia's birthday party....Angad makes the announcement....
