Naina went to gold store to pick her order which she gave a week ago. She saw Damini entering the shop while she was leaving. "Hi Damini! Kuch kareedney aayi hai?"
Damini moved her eyes and mouth in vengeance "Hum aap jaisey rayeez nahin hai, Naina! Har festive ke liye sona kareedney ke liye." She turned away and walked inside. Naina noticed Damini taking money from the shop owner and waited for Damini to come out of the store.
Naina asked Damini about the problem as she suspected Damini sold some gold. Damini's eyes filled with tears and walked out asking her to follow. Damini requested Naina to take her home.
She offered cold beverages and Naina insisted her to explain before anything. Damini told about losing her job. "Now spending a day also became hard, Naina! We hardly have any income to meet our needs. Prithvi didn't get any job here. He lost earlier one coz of his tension and humiliation. He spent to repay loans for this house from whatever he saved. Yeh Kripa se shadi karkey sara jeevan barbaad kar dala. Mujhey samajh mein nahi aati kiss janam ki paapon ka phal bhugat rahey hai hum."
Naina tried to console her, "Damini! Kripa sey shadi karna Prithvi ka galati tha. Aur wohi paap ki phal bhugat raha hai. Na wo Kripa ko torture karta na aaj ka din dekhna padta."
Damini disagreed with her, "Naina! Prithvi Kripa ki betrayal sehey nahin paya. Wo Prithvi ke saaat sagai karkey, kissi aur ke saat…we might have convinced for the fact that she loved your son, but don't you think she was wrong? Aur abb dekho, divorce lekey tumhara Angad ke saat jindagi gujaarna chahti hai. Angad bhi na, puri duniya mein Kripa hi mili thi pyar karney ke liye? Abb ek divorcee ke saat shadi karney jaa raha hai. Mujhey samaj mein nahin aati tum yeh kaisi encourage kar rahi hai. Tumhey ussey jada achi ladki nahin mili? Kissey pata wo Sur Angad ki hai? Prithvi ke saat char saal rehney ke baad wo abb tumhara beta ko barbaad karney nikal aayi hai."
Naina influenced by her and planned instantly how to avoid Kripa from moving further in Angad's life.
Kripa felt nervous to go to puja second day as she tasted bitter hospitality from Naina. Gayatri also showed disinterest but Suryaban was still hesitating. Angad sent car as he had another work to finish and would be late for the puja. Sarma family had no other option but attend the puja.
Kripa wore peridot color georgette sari (Imagine her when nishu-kripa engaged in kyph) while Sur wore blue and black sleeveless suit. She ran into Devyani's arms as soon as they reached the house and had started blabbering at her daily routine. Kripa greeted everyone and took the position of singing the prayers.
Angad arrived one hour after actual puja. He appreciated Kripa's appearance while pampering Sur. Kripa was relieved after seeing him. Her nervousness disappeared as he took Sur in his hands and gave longing looks at her. "kyon, miss kar rahi thi kya?" he whispered as catching her alone in a corner. She smiled with moist eyes and shook her head. He kissed her cheek "sorry, I was busy with some work. I couldn't bring you home. I will be there from tomorrow for you, Promise." She took his face in his hands and kissed his cheeks "no problem, I can understand. Just I felt alone without you here." They walked into crowd when they heard some foot sounds.
After dinner as routine Angad arranged the music and everyone gathered there. This time Angad took first song and Anittah followed him. Kripa also sang couple of songs.

Kripa walked inside to take Sur to bathroom. On the way back her eyes caught Naina talking to some older lady introducing Avantika pointing her from far from the crowd as her future samdhan. "Inki beti sey hi main baat chalanay ki soch rahi hoon. Bahut hoshiyaar wakeel hai. Bahut sundar aur susheel bhi hai. Bus yeh Durga puja khatam hotey hi hum donon ristey mein baand jaayengey." The older lady confusingly looked at Naina "Magar, Naina! I heard Angad was in love with some other girl, Kripa …I think that's her name?" Naina's eyes caught Kripa and showered disliking looks at her. The older lady left after seeing Kripa's pale face. Naina took Kripa inside study room.
Kripa's heart was expecting something bad. For her fears, Naina blasted her anger out in low voice, "Dekho, Kripa! Tum bahut samjhdaar ladki hai. I know you went through so much torture. But I suggest you to control yourself before you get your divorce in your hands. I don't want everyone say something about you and Angad before your case settles down. I invited you on our families' friendship sake, and hope you don't take advantage of it."
"Aunty! Aap yeh kya kehrahi hai? Angad Sur ki pita hai aur humara rista purani hai. Aaj koyi kuch kahney sey yeh such toh badal nahin saktey."
Naina interrupted her "Sur ki pita Angad hai, yeh tum hi jaanti thi. Don't get me wrong that I'm asking for proof or something but tuhi samajhlo, chaar saal tumhari pati ke saat gujaarkey aaj Angad sey rista jodney aayi ho. Anyways we will talk about all this after your divorce only. Tab tak please stay in your limits. Angad toh mard hai kuch bhi karey uss par koyi ungli nahin uthatey, magar tum ek aurat hokar tumhey bahut face karna padegi. Yeh meri advice hai, aur mujhey galat mat samjhna."
Kripa's eyes filled tears and tried hard to stop them at corner of eyes. Naina gave dirty looks at her and left. Gayatri reached her and wiped her tears. Kripa startled if she heard them "Mama!"
Gayatri signaled with her eyes to control herself "chalo, ab yahan rukney ki koyi matlab nahin raha. I don't want you to humiliate anymore coz of someone else."
Kripa controlled her sobs "nahin, Mama! Will leave after everything done only. Angad pehchaan lega, and I don't want him to know anything. Kal sey hum yahan nahin aayengey."
Gayatri agreed and both walked into crowd after consoling each other. Kripa tried to cheer up but refused to sing anymore songs as her throat stuck with sobs. Angad was busy with guests though he noticed shadows in Kripa's eyes. He thought he would handle her on the way back home.
Again Naina arranged a car and driver for Sarma family assigning Angad to take care of something else. Gayatri explained everything to Suryaban as soon as they reached home. Suryaban fumed "What does Naina think about you? Ussey yeh pata nahin tha ki Angad ney tumhari peechey pada tha? How dare she blame you? Kal sey wahan jaaney ki koyi jaroorat nahin aur divorce honey tak tum Angad sey nahin mil rahi hai." Suryaban ordered Kripa on the same hand consoling her.
Kripa cried her heart in her room remembering everything with Angad from the beginning till date. "Kya mein hi galat thi? Unwantedly Angad ki jaal mein ayi thi aur apni jindagi ko barbaad kar daali? Aaj sab Sur ki janam ki sachayi jaan na chahtey hai? Naina aunty theeki kehti thi sab mujh per ungli uthayengey, Angad ka kya? Mujhey hi apni had par rehna chahiye. I don't depend on him anymore. I know how to take care of my child. Sur meri hai aur sirf meri hai. Aaj tak pita ke bina aur pita ki pyar ke bina jee rahi hai aur agey bhi waisey hi jeelegi. Abb mujhey dham lena Angad ki responsiblity hai. Mein nahin uskey peechey jaaney wali. Let him take care of all problems and troubles. Kya Angad meri bina reh payega? Kal sey main nahin gaye toh wo yahin par ajayega. Kya mein ussey rok paoongi? Rokna padega, I'm not going to face Naina aunty anymore until I get my divorce papers aur galey mein Angad ka naam ki mangalsutre, wo bhi sab ki saamney."
Kripa confused with many thoughts; repenting, consoling, cursing, defending, many other feelings surrounded her mind.
Next day Angad came to pick up Sarma family and surprised to see no one was ready. Sur also didn't receive him as she always does. Angad greeted Gayatri and Suryaban. "Aunty aap log taiyyar nahin huyi? Mein aapko leney aya tha. Aur Kripa, Sur kahan hai? I don't see them?"
Suryaban stared at Gayatri once and turned to Angad "Beta! Aaj sey hum puja mein nahin ayengey. Hum yeh tair karliya hai ki Kripa divorce honey tak sabsey door rahegi."
"Sabsey? Ya mujhsey? Aakhir huva kya hai, Sarma ji? Kal bhi Kripa udaas thi. Jaaney ki waqt mujhsey greet bhi nahin ki thi. What was the dam* problem?" he impatiently questioned and noticed them avoiding his looks. He angrily asked again "Kripa kahan hai? I want to talk to her."
He took steps towards Kripa's room and Suryaban stopped him. "Angad! Wo nahin ayegi. Uski case theek honey tak wo kahin nahin aaney wali. Ussey kissi ki baaton ko sunn ney ki jaroorat nahin. We are here to take care of her. She will be absolutely fine with us. Agar ussey baat karna chahtey ho, aur ussey le jana chatey ho, sirf uss sey shadi karney key baad hi ho sakti hai. Tab tak tum paraya ho. You are not forcing her anymore."
Angad startled at his commanding voice. His eyes filled with tears and throat was dried up. His heart ached to see Kripa and to talk to her. But he understood Suryaban's words as he had valid point. "Jaroor kuch huva hoga? Kissi ney kuch kehdiya hoga. I have to find out it first. Agar wo mera parivar waley hai toh mujhey uss sey pehley nipatna hoga. Aur wo bahar waaley hai toh mujhey Kripa ko samjhana hoga." He wiped his tears and gathered courage to request Suryaban "Kya mein Sur sey mil sakta hoon?"
Suryaban shook his head "Mein lekey aoonga." He walked to Kripa's room and opened her door. Kripa was sobbing into pillow. Sur was watching her with fearful eyes. Sur looked at Suryaban and rubbed her head confusingly filling tears. Suryaban noticed her wanting to run to Angad. He closed eyes to make his heart strong "Sur so rahi hai, Angad!"
Angad realized he was lying and noticed he didn't want to allow her to see him. He clinched his teeth and tightened his fist. He wiped his tears and walked out with a determination to find out the truth behind sudden change of atmosphere.
