Howdy doo all you fine people! Hope you all are doing well and are keeping those pens scribbling and pages turning! 😉
So, I thought I'd try my hand at this writing business and see if I got what it takes 😉
Comments are welcome, but criticism is most appreciated! 😃
Here goes nothing 😛
But note: some characters do not have any connection with their character sketch from Kulvaddhu and also this is going to be a comparatively short fan fic, a warning in advance 😛
:::Love in Motion; a short story:::
styled with Kulvaddhu flair 😳

And now, the premiere!!!
Setting: Warm sunlight kisses the rosy pink cheeks of a round-faced young lady as she carefully heaves two leather suitcases off of the Jhodpur Express and plants them firmly on the ground before her. She moves aside as she helps an elderly woman in her mid 50's from the train. The elderly woman's eyes search the crowded, bustling scene in front of her: people filing into trains, exiting trains, hugging each other in warm embraces, leaving with their heavy suitcases. But her eyes fail to recognize that familiar face. Niyati rubs her hands on her jacket and turns to Dadi sa. She catches Dadi sa's questioning eyes, but replies with a soothing smile.
Niyati: "who are you looking for Dadi sa?"
Dadi sa: "who else, but your irresponsible friend Anu! Woh ladki bhi na..."Dadi sa mumbles off as she shakes her head in worry.
Niyati: (smiling) "woh ladki itni bhi irresponsible nahin hai Dadi sa" She gently pinches the apples of Dadi sa's cheeks and reassures her: "she will come soon, you'll see Dadi sa."
Dadi sa breaks into a restrained smile, but Niyati presses her close to her and whispers "you trust me Dadi sa?"
Dadi sa looks at her full in the eyes "do you even have to ask?"
Niyati kisses her forehead "then trust me, Anu will be here soon."
Dadi sa smiles, having found security in Niyati's soothing words.
"Oy! Don't you watch where you're going bhai saab!" rings out a high-pitched jolly, yet stern voice.
Both Niyati and Dadi sa turn towards that familiar voice just in time to see a pale, short, cute girl with two long pigtails streaming down to the hem of her ripped jeans rubbing her left elbow.
Niyati: "Anu, Anu! We're here!"
Anu forgets her mild pain and looks up instantly as she hears her name in the distance.
Anu: "Niyati? Haila, Niyati, Dadi sa, I'm coming!" she screams over the roar of trains and the upheavel of the crowd.
Anu brushes aside two women in front of her and makes her way to Niyati and Dadi sa.
Anu: "Niyati! Dadi sa! You're here, finally!"
Anu reaches out to hug Dadi sa, but Dadi sa steps back.
Anu: "Yeh kya Dadi sa, aap mujhse naraaz hai?"
Dadi sa: "Nahi tho! Mein tho gabraake mera kitna acha haal banaraka hai!"
Anu laughs and embraces Dadi sa tightly.
Dadi sa starts to lose her anger as she feels Anu's longing hug.
Anu: "Sorry Dadi sa, please aap mujhe maaf kardo, varna..."
Dadi sa pulls Anu away from her
Dadi sa: "Varna kya, tum mujhe yaha chordogi kya?"
Anu laughs and says: "I missed you truly Dadi sa"
Dadi sa wipes the lone tear from Anu's eye and Anu bows down and taker her blessings.
Dadi sa: "I know"
She then firmly envelops Anu in a motherly hug.
Niyati: "Aur mein? Mere yaad ayi kiya nahin?" she says teasingly.
Anu and Dadi sa break away and Anu turns to Niyati.
Anu: "you want the truth or should I lie?"
Niyati: "hmmm, lie."
Anu: "Then tumhari yaad khabi nahin ayi yaar"
Niyati grins and reaches out for Anu.
As Niyati embraces Anu, she can feel all her childhood happiness immersed in Anu. Her one touch resurfaces all that she had lost when Anu had moved to Mumbai.
Anu suddenly feels Niyati shiver and quicky pulls her away and looks at her with sheer concern sketched across her face.
Anu: "Niyati? Are you crying yaar?"
Niyati: "Nahin tho..."
Anu: "Niyati! Arrhe Dadi sa, ye ladki khabhi jhoot nahin ke peyegi"
Dadi sa smiles and pats Niyati's head.
Niyati: "Anu these are tears of happiness, its been so long since..."
Anu: (cutting Niyati off) "...we've last seen each other right?"
She gently wipes Niyati's tears away.
Anu: "But now we're here together, so no rhona dhona yaar, varna I will cry and yaar, it took me such a long time to put my eye makeup this morning"
Dadi sa pokes Anu and says: "Badmash!"
Anu and Niyati laugh and Dadi sa joins in.
Anu: "Shall we go ladies?"
Dadi sa: "Aur nahin tho kya?"
Niyati laughs as Anu picks up one suitcase and Niyati the other. Anu and Dadi sa walk off in front of Niyati; Anu teasing Dadi sa and Dadi sa lovingly scolding her.
Niyati wipes remaining tears from her eyes and takes a deep breath. As Anu's laughter and Dadi sa's scolds trail away, Niyati hurries after them thinking that this is it, everything starts new from here...
More to come later...😉
