Lekha is still upset and Smriti is defending her. Viveka and Sid are getting on well and Ranaav is jealous.

Morning Nisha ! As you had wished the smile did not leave my face 😁 I am sure Sid has caught on to Ra's jealousy and possessiveness...will he play along or let it go and store it for future mockery. 😂 Hey the relationship is new...glad mr perfect is just a normal man 😋

Anyway regarding Sid...he was initially having a polite conversation and then genuinely got interested as he interacted more with Vi (hey.Ra knows all that). Nupur gossiped about Vi and brownie points to him that he listened, remembered and not let it negatively influence his opinion. Independent and a grown up. Unlike Inder who was surprised that she had not changed in 6 month 🤦

Raanav is smoldering inside and Viveka is totally clueless about it.

Satyen is one person in this family who always looks out for Viveka and more than that, he takes on Lekha and Smrita.

Lekha was so shook up that she dressed to the nines. This is not the first time her parents have visited.

Viveka and Raanav practically argued every time they met.

The first time Dadi asks about Viv's marriage and if they found any rishta, Akash jokes saying Ladka bohut ameer hain, pada likha hain aur lawyer hain. Later when he and Anubha are talking and Anu says that she wishes Viveka gets a husband like she got, Akash jokes saying that then Viv will get a MIL like Anu got.

Now I get why you made these jokes and I am enjoying reading them even more now.

The first question Dadi asks Raanav after meeting him at Kamal's house was how old was Raanav and if he is married. Dadi and Raanav's interactions were fun right form the beginning and even now. 😆

That first time didn’t Viv prompt Raanav to say yes to dadi’s question whether he was married😆 I think it was to get Harsha into trouble

Amicus Curiae

Raanav did not leave her side the rest of the evening, except to take a couple of work calls only to return to find Viveka engrossed in conversation with Sid, she was making Venn diagrams to explain something as they both were bent over a sheet of paper with many numbers and %

“We cant go after this group” Viveka circled trying to make her point

“I think you will love meeting Pratik” Sid promised

“I haven’t even called everyone on Dad’s list yet from my NY gift”

“He gave you a list of names”

“Yep, I didn’t want any jewelry or cars” Viveka waved her pen to gesticulate

Sid sat staring at her

“Are you going to be home by 5?” Raanav interrupted the “deep” conversation

“Umm.. haan, I think I can only have it towed to the repair shop after 4” she was glum again

Sid tried to look away

“Aaj maine apni car se Lekha ki car ko rear kar di” she looked annoyed with herself

“Oh?”

His mother had told him all about it when they drove up from meeting Nupur’s sister

“Foolish, I know”

“Do u know how many times Ive wrecked my car? My motorcycle my boat”

“thank god I don’t drive anything else” Viveka shuddered praying, hands joined

“Hahahaha”

“I would not be good with a plane”

“You will be in good company” Sid winked looking at raanav

“U mean Raanav?”

“Guilty as charged, I was in training and skid off the run way” Raanav nodded

Viveka looked devastated “Oh my God….. oh my god”

“I am fine” Raanav smiled surprised by the sudden surge of concern in her voice

“”Oh wow!!! Did you not KNOW?” she accused angrily

“Chill, Vi, it was a regular London Fall morning”

“Oh god” she shut her eyes imagining a horrific scene

“He cant fly no more” Sid laughed

“he better not” Viveka sighed and leaned back

“Did u see my car outside?” she asked Sid sadly

“Umm.. no” he lied

Nupur had examined it in great detail, when Viveka and Raanav were fighting

“I don’t think Lekha will talk to me ever again…. (sigh!) I mean I don’t blame her” Viveka laughed to blunt her juvenile confession

“That’s funny” Sid exclaimed

Raanav knew the history behind that comment and he was irritated that it was rearing its ugly head again

“So you will be home at 5?” he insisted again

“Hmm.. haan shaayad, Papa se baat karoongi subah to pata lagega I have to go figure out…” she trailed off

She didn’t know how Ma was going to manage with no car

It was a nice new car sadly

She wondered where Mo was

“If you have time we can go see Pratik” Sid interjected

“Umm… I am going to go see my Dadu at 11, his sutures come off, then, umm… maybe between 1 and 4?” “Shaayad” she turned to Sid

Sid was looking at lekha,

She realized what a knockout Lekha was

She looked at Nupur who was busy yapping to notice who her son was even looking at

But Viveka did not notice Nupur observing Viveka and Sid chat like old friends

Inder was not around Viveka noticed, she was afraid he was going to ask her about Naina or tell her about Naina

“oh god!” “Uffff”

“Do you want my number you can text me when you are done?” Sid rotated his phone

“Oh I left it back over there” she tilted her head

“Umm.. don’t worry I can get it from Mom”

Viveka didn’t tell him she would not know

“Where does he even want you to go?” Raanav demanded crankily as he unbuttoned his shirt as she ogled

“We were talking about companies that do wonderful things with data, he knows….”

“Oh pleez” he interrupted her

“Why? Why cant he know?” she challenged him logically

“He probably knows where the good pubs are” he mocked “Or where hot chicks hang out”

“That is rude…. Tumhe Naina ko lekar gussa hai?” she asked him grimly

“Are you out of your mind?” he charged toward her

She coolly crossed her arms across her chest and rolled her eyes “Why would you dismiss him like that”

“Plus I doubt he will settle for just anybody, the way he was looking at lekha” she chuckled self deprecatingly

“THAT’S what you got out of that?” he was totally stumped

This woman did not even know his cousin was hitting on her

Fool!

He thought to himself

“You don’t have to agree with him, you are a lawyer this is not about Amicus Curiae or depositions” she mocked him “I love data, he does too”

He gently pushed her against the wall

“Shut up” he growled bending down on her neck

I skipped reading western sanctions against Chinese officials to google Amicus Curiae 😁 . Anyway Venn diagram made me laugh ..reminded me of someone I knew drawing graphs on a cafe napkin to validate a point.

I still maintain that Sid is enjoying intellectual stimulation (was he not mentally eye rolling seeing Lekha's dress to the nines for a family dinner 😉). What is with these women...Nupur today examining Vi's car...does not have anything to occupy her mind ? Husband and sons dont say anything...conditioned to listen to such mindless conversation 😏

In all this I forgot that it is Anu's new car that got severly damaged. So anyway will Ra take time off to be with Sid and Vi when they meet Prateek 😂

This was another fun update Nisha.

More than Viren being Smrita's brother, I feel that probably Nupur and Smrita are conjoined twins, who had to separated physically after birth.

These two women behaving almost identically, shocks and saddens me.

Can't these women do anything productive in their lives?

And Nupur's daughter has turned out to be just like them.

Sid was genuinely interested in talking to Viv and maybe hitting on her too like Raanav thought. It was fun seeing Raanav frustrated that his own cousin is hitting on his wife and she was absolutely clueless about it.

Imagine if Sid had met Viv before they got married, Raanav would have had tough competition. 😆

I think if today Dhamija's business and wealth have reached high levels, I am guessing Sid has a major role in it.

I liked how Sid tried to distract and pacify Viv about the car incident saying he has wrecked many vehicles including a boat and pointing out that Raanav has wrecked a plane too.

I hope Sid stays in the scene for some more time. Maybe Viv can find a nice friend in him.

Viveka is clueless about male attention. All she sees is her causes. Sid is good company. We can see a nice friendship emerging.

“We”

“Tum gussa kis baat se ho?” she asked utterly shocked shoving him

“Nothing… I don’t want to talk about him”

“Did he say anything?” she dodged him

“He did not,”

“What happened?”

“Vi” he growled

She let herself be gathered in his arms as he got frisky

“He is friendly and kind”

He lay her on the bed and lowered himself on her a little savagely

She groaned and wrapped her arms around his neck

They spent the next few minutes pleasuring each other

“I think he should get married to someone like Lekha”

“I don’t care” he was focused on his task of undoing the knot on her waist

She giggled rolling away

“Are you seeing him tomorrow?”

“Oops! Sorry, I cant talk about him Ive been told its taboo”

“You love provoking me don’t you?” he held her squirming body as she flit in his arms

“Not at all”

“And I thought lawyers were prone to lying” he laughed

“Tumhe pasand nahi Sid?” she asked he was busy finding spots to kiss

“I think he was hitting on you” he said accusingly

She turned a deep red in embarrassment

Was he jealous?”

Wow!!

“Ufff”

“He sounds jealous

“Tum pagal ho” she mumbled

“THAT’S your answer?”

“Kya kahoon Raanav?”

He stared at her face deeply

“How about I wont hang with him tomorrow” he demanded childishly

“And only share my toys with you and play in the sandbox with you and invite you over for a sleepover?” she asked with so smile

He realized he was being immature

“I would be delighted” he nodded

“You are mad…. He likes someone like Lekha”

“No he does not” he began kissing her

She slept in his arms, he lay awake stroking her bare arm with his finger tips and staring out the French doors through the curtains

He spotted Lekha and Rakshit walking Mo

He turned to Viveka and kissed her head

Breakfast was usually OTT this morning it was OTT square

Viren and Nupur were already at the atrium when Viveka walked in

Nupur scanned her from head to toe forgetting to smile

“Hellooo” Viveka smiled

“Yeah Hi” Nupur turned red

Viveka scanned the buffet line

Smrita startled her from behind

“Oh you are joining us this morning? How lovely”

“Oh yeah” she nodded politely

Smrita looked at her plate and looked at a wedge of 5 kinds of parathas with bowls of chutney on the side

“Oh Indian?”

“Jee…. I love food that I know and love” she nodded

Viveka didn’t want to go sit by Nupur, she wondered if she should have waited for Raanav to wake up

The routine was usual, he never let her get off the bed in the morning

He woke when she did and delayed her by an hour, on days he didn’t have to run or go to work early he caught up on HIS SLEEP!!

“How is your family?” Viren made small talk

“They are all great, My Dadu had surgery recently….” Viveka filled in

She couldn’t tell if the couple were interested or not

Smrita interjected frequently with her “medical” knowledge

“Where do you work?” Nupur quizzed

Viveka had avoided them carefully last night

This morning?

Not so lucky!

She explained how she didn’t make the cut for IIT-Kharagpur and so was figuring stuff out

“You should talk to Jeejaji, I am sure he will put in a good word anywhere, you can even work in Power Engineers” Nupur offered “generously”

“I want to work on My Ph D and or do research” Viveka explained earnestly

This topic was a matter of huge pride and sadness at the moment for her

Their probing was not unwelcome but by sharing more and more she was opening herself up to some unnecessary advice

“Raanav kidhar hai?” Smrita asked caringly

“Hes asleep”

“SO LATE?”

“Umm.. its only, its not even 9” Viveka looked at her watch

“He is usually out running or at the office by 8

“Yes guilty as charged, it’s the DIL’s fault

“He was tired I think” she mumbled awkwardly

“Did he not sleep well last night?” Smrita was unforgiving

“Umm.. I don’t know… I was asleep” Viveka laughed like a child

Smrita and Nupur exchanged a glance

Viren was uncomfortable but he was not going to ask his sister to shut up

“He has been so stressed lately, hope you are paying him attention” Smrita mumbled sadly

“What happened?” Viveka was shocked

“Oh u know… work stress and all” smriti covered quickly

“Soney do bhai” Viren was irritated

“How is your sister?” Nupur inserted herself

“She is well thank u” Viveka smiled her eyes twinkling

Nupur asked her about where she worked and what she did

She feared few people, she loved Naina immensely its going to take a lot more than a firing squad to get her to spill juicy stuff

“Inder and her dated”

Viveka nodded

“I hope she is not too heart broken” Nupur smiled sadly

“Why would she be?” Viveka asked shocked

Viveka did not know they had broken up, had they? “Wow!!”

“Inder is very popular and so attractive, girls usually are very attached to him or get very attached”

“Oh really?”

“Tumhe nagi laga?” Nupur was offended

“Umm… I I don’t think he is my type” she smiled

Viren actually smiled at the truthfulness

Smrita’s jaw dropped

“Inder is great” Viveka smiled a little awkwardly

“Oh? That’s good, that’s good” Nupur swallowed a sip of her smoothie

“Inder is very focused on work right now” Viren nodded looking at his wife

“That’s awesome”

“Arey aapka kaam teen continents mein hai” Smrita was all for it

“I am happy he is busy” Viveka smiled

“Sid is busy too, last night was his rare night off” Nupur reminded her

“I am happy to hear that” Viveka smiled and bent down to chew

“Kaise ho beta aaj?” Satyen walked in the first thing on his mind

Was how she was doing

“I am good”

“Koi dard ward to nahi? Raanav ne kaha hai, Doc ko aayega aaj, subah bhi baat hui meri”

“Not about ME I hope” Viveka was baffled

“Yes about you, you were involved in a wreck we need to take care of you” Satyen smiled

Bend down and kissed the top of her head fondly and limped to the buffet
