Oh oh. She did not call to check on Satyen the whole day! That was not right. Being at the hospital was important we get that, but not calling at all was a huge mistake. Satyen has been very gracious towards her since day one. She owed him that.

Viv says she loves Raanav.

But doesn't love come with some responsibilities too? Doesn't his concerns, duties and fears matter to her?

Raanav was in touch with Akash regarding Dadu's surgery. It was natural for him as Dadu is Viveka's family and Viv's family is his family now.

That kind of feeling is missing in Viveka, I wonder why.

We are all conditioned by our experiences. Though she says she is unaffected by Smrita's indifference she IS

She is inadvertently letting it creep into her actions, also she is guarding herself emotionally. She knows deep down this might not last, so by investing too much she is setting herself up for heart break

Though it doesnt consciously drive her minute by minute action she knows subconsciously

Plus that home is so large and quiet and cold, there is no expectation of her. There is no anticipation from anyone for her to a set list of things. She doesnt get consulted on for anything

She reverts back to the thing that brings her comfort, her own family

No excuses she needs to repair it soon

Nisha, a thing I noticed. Whenever Raanav errs/ does or says something Viveka do not agree to, just in the case of meeting Naina, Viveka always calmly explains how what he says/does is not right and calmly explains why so. However, whenever Viveka deviates from the right path, Raanav plainly gets angry/sarcastic or plainly cut the conversation off.

He could have calmly explain to her in the morning how she could have plainly apologize to Smrita or adjust her time. However, i believe in this matter, he never calmly sit down to talk and most of the time, blow off a gasket.

I could be wrong, but Raanav has a certain set of expectations he believes Viveka should abide by. We've seen him berate Viveka, for being absent to come immediately to his father in the hospital but I don't see him socializing with Naina/Akash/Anu or even the twins, except when Viveka is with the Mathurs.

We cant all have the same personalities right? If we were all 100% similar our marriages would SUCK so bad😃 at least thats what I think, he is passionate, expressive and displays his unhappiness

She is guarded, caring and thoughtful about what she says

Dreams

Viveka called Satyen the next morning, by the time everyone was herded home and dinner made and fed, it was too late

She thought about it enough to dream about it, she woke with a start and called him soon after brushing her teeth

“How is your Dadu?” he asked his voice laced with concern

“Oh he should be fine” she laughed thinking she made him panic

“Subah subah kaise yaad kiya beta?”

“How are you?”

“Main theek hoon jee” he said pleasantly with that Punjabi twang he had acquired from his wife’s side

“Oh… how was the test yesterday?”

“Tests, aapka matlab”

“Oh yes sorry, yes”

“Hahaha… it all went fine, u know scans and pokes, just the usual”

“Results aa gaya?”

“Na beta, maybe today maybe tomorrow”

“Oh?” she felt a churn of worry in the pit of her stomach

“Don’t worry”

“Hmm”

“Mom kaisi hain”

“Kal subah gayin na aap yaha se?”

“Hmm?”

“Ek din mein itni pooch taach” he laughed

“Its polite I thought” he made her nervous just like his son did

Who had incidentally not called her at night

She hadn’t either

No forwards no risqué memes no nothing

“Hahaha… Mom theek hain”

“Oh OK”

“Kisi aur ko bhi pooch lein aap?”

She smiled knowingly, as self conscious heat spread softly all over her face

“I saw him go out for a run, main hold mein reh sakta hoon bhai” he teased

“that’s too long”

“Kyon is he doing 7 miles today?”

“Oh? I don’t know” she blurted

He sensed they hadn’t talked to each other

Newly weds for less than a month not talking? Huh!

“I will make him call you”

“Gee! Thanks” she laughed

“I know you have to thank me for many things”

“You sound like your son!!!”

“That bad huh?”

She laughed

“Does Papa need any help beta?”

“No sir, hes fine”

“Sir? Ek din mein mujhe Dad se Papa kar diya abhi Raanav ko kuch aur nahi bana dena”

“I will try” she chuckled

“Mom se baat karengi?”

“Uh… sure” she said softly

“Oh OK… sorry she is getting into the shoer now”

“That’s OK I can call her in 10”

Satyen realized both women could very well be playing a game of dodge ball

3 days in, it was almost the weekend, she was exhausted, Dadi had diarrhea, and was vomiting as if she had a stomach bug, Bua was returning tomorrow. Naina was taking a refresher course with hands on model design at some high priced boutique training school

When the girls turned 21, Akash pulled them into the family’s main bank account used for day to day expenses, it was like a reward and a responsibility

The younger ones got fixed amount prepaid cards

Papa worried about Naina silently

She didn’t talk much but was eager to help Dadu out, morning and evening, she made hospital trips while Viveka held down the fort at home

Every evening she texted Raanav “dadi is sick”

“Bua returns early from trip, but until Dadi is rehydrated”

As if she was a school principal missing her classes

It was a formal one sentence text

He responded promptly

“Thanks for letting me know”

She didn’t attempt to joke or flirt

Papa kept asking her if all was well, he was a very perceptive man

She in turn called Satyen in her free time in the afternoon and checked on him

Of the 8 tests, 5 were OK, 2 somewhat and 1 really bad

There was a general mood of “Majority wins”

He sounded cheerful

He even visited one afternoon while Naina was at the hospital after her early release from her workshop

He missed Viveka there, so he called her

Papa told Viveka that Raanav had visited the 3rd morning after surgery, if he was wanting to see Viveka he didn’t say it to Akash

Akash called Viveka and gave the phone to Raanav

“Hi! Thanks for stopping by” she said politely

“Sure” he growled

“How is the weather in central Delhi?” she teased spontaneously sipping her coffee

“Huh?”

“Mazaak kar rahi hoon” she said softly getting that he was sulking

“Ah”

“Thanks for stopping by”

“Hmm”

He handed the phone back to Akash

Chachi arrived first with her troops

Viveka wanted to ask what sort of job gives her time off the first month

But she didn’t want a sick Dadi blowing up

Chachi and Dadi met like mother and daughter shut in the twins’ room for hours gossiping, while Viveka and the twins chased the two boys around the house, took them downstairs and to the store and to the park

She was exhausted

She took a nap listening to Dadi making some sweet for her fave bahu in the kitchen

She woke up startled after dreaming something really bad…. Dadi and Chachi were in the kitchen and Ma had passed away

She sat up having a panic attack, took her a few moments to realize it was a dream’’

The women were now in her parents bedroom giggling

Ma returned around midnight SAFE

Viveka hugged her almost knocking the breath out of Anu

HUA KYA?” Anu panicked even a bit irritated

“Can you please run it by me? Your future biz trips please?

“Pagal ho?” Ma scolded her not understanding

“I missed you, Chachi stole your kitchen”

Anu laughed and laughed

“Ma Viveka Di ne Chachi ko kaha to clean up your room before you returned” Diya giggled impishly

“VEEV” Anu was horrified

“Good na?” Veev danced

“Jao apne ghar bhai, mujhe bhi le chalo” Ma joke growled

“Ma DEE yaha 4 din se hain”

“Ma jaanti hain, its not the 1970s… with no electricity and such” Viveka scoffed

“Tumhe chahiye thi 4 betiyan?” Anu laughed

The family hung out in the living room

Dadi was asleep, no vomiting after 10 AM

Dadu was going to be discharged tomorrow

Chachu’s family was sleeping in Viveka’s old room

Dad was going into work even tho it was a Saturday

Bua was back with her clan

Diyu and Viveka slept on the living room divan

“Di Don’t dream of Jeej and start assaulting me OK”

“Shittt” “I was GOING TO” she slobbered or try to all over her sister

Piyush and Fa and Papa went to get Dadu discharged and brought him straight to Bua’s

The kitchen sink was clogged after Dadi tried to shove chikoo peel through the drain making kheer for her darling DIL

The plumber was fixing it, Ma was still asleep

Chachi had asked a beauty parlor girl to come by to do “head to toe job”

The boys were hiding inside curtains and stretching it almost yanking it off the curtain rod

“Umar ho gayi hai itna kaam ke liye safar karna kaise baithega theek” Dadi was mumbling

“Lag raha hai aap poori tarah se theek ho” Viveka chuckled

“LAST time keh rahi hoon, tayiji soyin hain” “If she wakes up dono ko balcony se tanga doongi” she warned

“Can I go first? PLEEZ Didi Pleez Divyanshu begged

Chachi pretended to scold them from the room

Raanav entered the apartment through the open door and found Dadi going through Ma’s suitcase that lay open on the divan

“Biveka rasoi mein hai, POHAAA banayi hai, HUM nahi kha paayenge” Dadi made a face

He walked over to the kitchen and leaned on the doorjamb

She was busy stacking all dry the dishes in its place, so water wont splatter from the drain

“Bhayya hamari Dadi aayin hain UP se unhoney kal shaam ko sink mein pata nahi kya thoosa”

“Madam mujhe saara andar se kholkar washer badalkar ye jo pipe ja rahi ney dishwasher ko who sab change hoga” the plumber did plumber things

“Deeedeeee” Himanshu yelled twirling inside a curtain all covered up

She turned to find him standing 10 feet from her

“Dadu se milne aaye ho?” she asked politely not exposing ONE BIT how her heart was hammering…. “Dadu Bua ke ghar hain” she said plainly pushing her glasses up

And beginning to stack the tumblers in a tall shelf by the sink

Mathur residence is like "Jungle mein mangal " 😆

These two have a little fight and both the dads immediately soongh lete hain. Very sharp senses both have.

Nice, so he is here to take back his wife.

I guess until now its Ranaav who has let go. Not saying sorry exactly but he has shed his bias a bit since Viveka came in his life.

Nisha, can we see Viveka being apologetic for once. Even now its Ranaav who has made the first move. I so want to see Viveka being vulnerable to her feelings and maybe confessing his importance in her life by actions. Words can wait. But actions speaks louder at times. Or maybe she could tell him why she holds back from being part of Parashars.

Ranaav, even you could assure her that she is not here to play role and how you want her to be here forever and that too for your sake and not Satyen.

Dadi got all better quick when her favorite daughter in law came over. What makes her the favorite? Just having sons?
