"how's captain Gandhi?…I hope he isn't hurt badly"
"no major, he is not. Fortunately, you both had a lucky escape…RPJ-7 could have blasted you both off. How's that arm of yours?"
"I feel better already!…Major …there is something which is bothering me…"
"if it is about the RPJ…then I am not surprised….but if its something else…I would like to know"
"infact there is something. as you already know major Jain , that RPJ is not an ordinary weapon to be used in a curfew…this hints that there are terrorists involved in this. I have got two possibilities…either they are supplying these weapons to the rebellers…or they themselves are using it on us. The only thing, which I can't make out, is their intention. What is bothering me right now…if it's the second case…then why didn't they kill us…it looked like that they wanted us to escape…half-crippled. They had no intention to kill."

just then an officer rushed into the infirmary. "Sir…I have bad news…Camp 2 has been attacked…all the tourists have been taken into hostage…all our officers died fighting…many tourists have also died. We have been ordered to report there as soon as possible"
Alekh,rajveer and major jain were shocked. "when did this happen" asked Alekh.
"ten minutes ago"
"lets go!!" shouted rajveer getting up from chair..
"I don't think you should go major…you can't move your arm"
"I am alright sir….this can't stop me"

CAMP-2
Camp 2 was completely destroyed in a matter of minutes. The tents were pulled down…by the impact of the bullets…the fresh brown soil was stained with blood puddles…and several dead bodies were scattered like discarded belongings. Smoke, dust and fire were all over the place…the cold wind howled as if it wanted to suppress the cries of the children and women. Everyone had lost something in this cruel assault….a child…a mother…a father…a husband…a friend… a loved one…or happiness.
One could only see a corner where few heavily armed men surrounded a large group of people.
"sit down and do not try to move! Do you understand me!"
the man pointed his weapon at the crowd and indicated them to sit down. Children cried loudly after hearing his harsh voice…the mothers tried to hush them up but they kept on cying…another man looked at one of the women and asked her to stop it …when she couldn't ….he grabbed her hair and forced her to stand …"if you don't do it now…I have many other ways to stop that cry!! Now go!" and pushed her in the group.
Naina and ritu looked at the ghastly scene helplessly. Naina couldn't stop her tears, she kept on sobbing.. "don't cry" said ritu.
Naina looked at ritu…and asked "what?"
"I said, don't cry…you are making the situation worse….if we calm ourselves down…then the people around us may follow the cue. So, don't cry"
Naina stared at ritu…. and wondered how could she maintain her cool in such a situation. Her voice was cold…but for a moment it seemed to naina that an elder sister spoke to her. Naina obediently wiped off her tears and smiled at the people sitting around her….some of them even smiled back.
"Help us god…please"

"The helicopter has arrived sir….i think its time to take the patient to the hospital…or it will be too late"
Ali didn't hear the doctor… "Sir? Please we have to take the patient"
"Huh?" asked Ali unaware of whatever the doctor said to him.
"Sir….the patient….helicopter has arrived"
"Yes…take her quick"
the doctor gestured some orderlies to take the stretcher to the helicopter and was just about to leave …when ali said "excuse me doctor…there is something I want you to give to this girl when she wakes up…I know she will…"
The doctor smiled and nodded.
Ali took off the chain that he was wearing…which had a ring as a pendant. He took out the ring from the chain and gave it to the doctor… "tell her…it is from someone….who still loves her….and please doctor don't tell her my name"
"I won't Lieutenant" and smiled.

Huda was nervous… "this will be my first war" …sweat beads formed on his forehead while he was driving to camp 2 with his colleagues.
"Major shekhawat is hurt…I don't think he will be able to come"
"bakwaas mat kar…I have been with him from the start of my military career…no matter how injured he is he will surely come" confirmed Huda.
"I wish this jeep could fly"
He slowed the jeep ..."what happened?" asked one of the officers..
Huda stopped the jeep near a couple who were standing under a tree....the girl looked familiar to huda....

CAMP-2
"uncle mujhe paani peena hai" said a small child to one of the men standing near him.
"don't do that akshat!" scolded her mother with fear.
"but ma, I am thirsty and there is no water"
the man looked at him and kneeled in front him and pulled his cheek.
"aapko paani peena hai???" and laughed loudly and asked one of his friends to get water for the "chote nawaab"
he held the bottle in his hand, opened it and poured the water over the child's head. The child shivered and cried loudly…and was slapped tightly by the man. "pleaaaassseeee..don't do it!!!" screamed the child's mother who took the child in her arms.
Naina couldn't bear it anymore…before ritu could stop her she pushed the man and shouted "how dare you do this to a child ???!! whatever grudge you have against anyone …take it on people who can bear it….don't you have a heart??!!!"
"Shut up!!….you filthy woman! …how dare you push me! …I will teach you a lesson" and pointed his gun on her head… and was just going to pull the trigger…when a gunshot was heard…the man was shocked and groaned with pain and fell forward towards naina…
"he is shot??….but by whom??"
naina kept staring ahead….at a figure holding a gun ....the figure started to take a shape...of a man...whom she knew so well...
"Yudi?"
