ITs all good. hope you are enjoying your travel. I have also been travelling hence not been able to update regularly. :(

Shyams truth needed to get out. That was a given. But in terms of Prakash and MM not doing anything, that is in the next update. There is always a reason for everything. If Arnav can do anything for khushis family, maybe she had done something for him from before. Hint hint hint. Big hint.

Akash is my favourite as well, mainly because he has this shararti thing but smart got you back kind of nature.

HAHA. I love how you always have the spoiler ready for the next update right before I post it. I always have two chapters written ahead, that way I can make sure that everything happens accordingly. And you always manage to guess some of the next chapter before I post it. That I must say is very very impressive!

Sorry for posting late and missing a day, I made this one a little longer. Dedicated to coderlady, she always guesses what is about to happen. :D

Chapter 70

Khushi waited a moment. She then softly spoke.

Meri har khushi har baat teri hai,

Sansoon main chuppi yeh hayyat teri hai,

Do pal bhi nahin reh sakthi tere bin,

Dharkano ki dharaktihi awaaz teri hai,

Tu agar abhi paas hota,

Tho shayad touch hi hogata...

She sit her bottom him. He was left in surprise. His smile spread from ear to ear.

Arnav: tho abhi agatha hoon...

Khushi giggled.

Khushi: good night arnav.

Arnav: good night.. Tomorrow morning be ready.

Arnav fell back onto his head. Kissed his phone and then went to bed. After a little while, Akash opened the door, He didnt hear arnav saying anything. HE looked in and saw arnav hugging his phone and then kiss it again, with the worlds biggest smile on his face. Akash held the door but put his head into Aranvs room....Akash had an evil big smile on his face. He started to raise his eyebrows again and again.

Akash: Bhaaaaiiiiii...

Baaat hoowiiiiii...

How is khushiiiiiiiii...

Did you get apappiiiiiiiii...

Naughtyyyyyy naughtyyyyyy...

Arnav chuckled and threw a pillow at him. Akash closed the door before the pillow hit him and ran.

The next morning had arrived and Aranv went downstairs for to greet his parents They were both waiting for him. They wanted to talk to him, he went and hugged his mother and said good morning to his father.

MM: Arnav, come and have a seat. I will get you your tea. Your dad and I wanted to talk to you about something.

Arnav looked at them and obliged. HE went and sat at the table. His mother brought him his tea and he smiled and took it.

Prakash and MM didnt know where to start. They both just kept on looking at each other.

Arnav: Mom,, Dad.. Just say it. It still me, arnav. Your own son, remember.

Prakash: Arnav it is about yesterday.

Arnav: Dad listen, what he did was intolerable. Sorry, i know i should have been more respectful, but what he did or had done gets no pardon.

Prakash: We understand that. And we support you in it. But. We wanted to actually clear something with you first. We, no wait. I knew from before. What Shyam had done. Arnav looked at his dad, he didnt know how and what to say. His dad said the same thing yesterday, and Aranv didnt know how to respond at that time as well. Arnav was about to get up, when his mom held his hand.

MM: Hear what your father has to say Arnav, then. Okay. Please. Arnav sighed and sat down again.

Prakash: I knew about some of the problems going on inthe temple from before, and Garima was incharge of that area. Shyam wanted to do something for a long time, and was asking me about it. I told him no, because it wasnt my department to handle. So he then went and started to talk to Garimaji. I didnt know, honestly to what extent Shyam was going to go to. I had a feeling that Shyam was up to no good, when Sashi got hurt. I didnt know for sure if it was him or not. Which is why when you offered to stay at the hospital, i didnt stop you. I wanted the guilt to be a little less. I spoke to Sashi and garima the next day when you left as well. I tried to talk to Shyam as well, but he was adament. Then, During the christmas holidays, when Shyam one day called and said things to their family, i was not aware of it. I only came to know the next day. You were still in Toronto doing your exams. Sashi called me over to his house first thing the next morning. Garimaji and Sashi spoke to me about what Shyam did. They were upset, and Rightfully so. I am not saying that they were wrong, but they said that they were also upset with me. They always thought of me as their elder brother since the beginning, and how i could have let this happen. I didnt know what to say or do. So I, spoke to them, but wasnt able to do much. Khushi was also there. You can ask her, i tried to explain that i had nothing to do with this. I could not get involved because then it would become too much of a family matter. Khushi understood this, and she, i still remember, held onto Garimas hand and smiled. Then, when you came back, and told us about the med school and how you wanted to marry her. I was worried. I remember telling your mom that i was not sure if they would agree. Your mom didnt know. I told her after we came from there place the day of the proposal. I am sorry Arnav, I should have tried more, but I was not able to.

MM looked at Arnav, he was silent for some time.

Arnav: Dad can i ask you a question, please dont get me the wrong way, but.. Would you have just tried if someone said that to Mom and Anjali?

Prakash and MM were silent. Arnav was right, there is no way that Prakash would have tolerated anyone saying something like that to the ladies in his house. And for someone else who thought of him as their elder brother, to just have tried was merely presenting it as an excuse.

Arnav: I am not blaming you, i am sure that you must have tried. Its ok. I need to go and get ready now. I have to leave in a bit to pick up khushi and Payal.

Arnav silently left. His parents were left insilence. They didnt know what to say. Arnav was now feeling a bit guilty and depressed. Khushi was there when arnavs dad came to her place after all this happened. And she, because she loved arnav stopped her family from questioning his. Without letting both the families clash and lose respect for each other, she made her sacrifice. Khushi for the sake of his love stayed silent. This she didnt even tell Aish. He felt more and more guilty than before. Maybe that is why she was compelled to say yes to someone else. Maybe that is why she was worried if Arnav would be able to be the son that her family needed. Arnav got ready and told Akash to also take his own car as well. He told him that there would also be a lot of bags, so two cars would be needed. Akash noticed his brothers not so happy behaviour. Akash and Anjali were ready to bother their brother for taking khushi on a trip like this, but they both stopped. Akash and Anjali both listened to whatever Arnav had said.

They all arrived at khushis house. Khushi was ready and so was payal. Garima was getting the food bags ready for them. Arnav came to the door with Akash and Anjali. He touched Garima and Sashis feet, smiled at them. He was embarrresed, but tried to hide it from them. Because of his parents, their family had to face such difficulties and humiliation. Arnav felt stuck between both of the families, he was now the son of both of them. How could he fulfill the duties of a son for one family and not the other. Khushi kept her gaze down. Arnav was not looking at khushi. She thought that maybe he was ignoring her because of her parents. Maybe he was worried as to what her parents would be thinking that arnav had planned. She just smiled. Akash loaded the cars with Aranv. Anjali went and sat into akashs car and Payal into Arnavs car. Khushi stood outside with Garima. She saw Garima look worried. She didnt want her mother to worry about her becoming too free with Aranv, or Arnav to feel nervous. She went and sat down into Akash's car in the front with him. Arnav saw this, but didnt say anything. Akash was surprised. Garima looked at khushi and khushi gave her an its ok expression. Garima smiled at her daughter, and felt reassured about her upbringing, she trusted both of the kids.

Akash: Desi girl, apka driver us gari main hai…

Anjali laughed..

Anajli: exactly, you should be with bhai.

Khushi just smiled. How could she be so upfront with them when it had anything to do with arnav. She was ok with Akash, that too to an extent. Now with her mother looking, and Anjali and Payal there, there was no way she was going to do anything.

Khushi: Kyon, cant I spend some time with you guys. Hmmm.

They all left. Payal tried to talk to arnav, but noticed he was very hessitant to talk. She messaged khushi about Aranv. Khushi was a bit confused. Did Arnav mind khushi not sitting with him? As Akashs car drove by, she noticed Aranvs face. He was not mad, nor was he happy. Something was wrong. Khushi looked at Akash, and gestured to him as to what happened? Before Akash to speak, she hinted that Anjali was at the back. Akash nodded his head. Took a moment.

Akash: hey Anjali, did you notice how Bhai was really quiet since this morning. It was weird. Man khushi, me and Anjali thought of bothering bhai a lot about this trip, but he was really silent this morning. Last night he was fine. (he winked at Khushi as he said that, Khushi looked the other way and blushed).

Anjali: You noticed too. I thought it was just me. No idea, I saw the same thing with Mom and Dad. Maybe something happened. But no one told me anything.

Khushi started to think as to what could have happened. She needed to talk to Arnav, but not with everyone around. She sighed and after a few moments.

Khushi: Hey Angraiz, what kind of a person are you. I am in your car, and you don’t even offer to get me any CHAI… or coffee. Hmm…

Akash got the hint.

Akash: Oh sooo sorry my Desi Girl. Chalo, apka hukum saraakhon par. Plus I also need to get the gas filled up into the car again. Let me just tell bhai.

Akash called Arnav.

Akash: hey bhai, I needed to fill up some gas and get some coffee. Pull over to the next station.

Aranv agreed. They pulled up to the next gas station.

Anjali: Akash, just get the coffees into the car na. Khushi and I will stay here.

Akash slapped his head. Man, when will Anjali learn he thought.

Akahs: Of course.

He looked at Khushi, and khushi looked at him. He blinked reassuringly.

Akash and Arnav went inside, while the girls sat inside the cars.

Akash: Hey bhai, do you know what happened to khushi. She sounded really upset about something. Did she say anything to you.

Arnav looked at him worryingly.

Arnav: no, why, what happened?

Akash: idea hai, why don’t you take my car and I will take yours. Ok. Arnav agreed. Akash messaged khushi telling her what he told arnav.

Arnav went over to Akashs car with two coffees. He forgot that anjali was also there. He was too worried about khushi.

Anajali: bhai.. You, in this car.

Arnav: yeah, Akash said there was a problem in his car, and wanted me to drive and check it out for him.

Anjali: okay.. Bhai. That is the lamest excuse I have ever heard.

Arnav just sighed and looked at her from the mirror. Anajli became quiet.

Anajli: bhai, only two coffees?

Aranv: haan, one is for you, and one is for her. Both of the girls just took the coffee. Khushi kept her eyes down. Anjali started to enjoy her coffee while looking outside and enjoying the view.

Khushi kept her gaze down or looked outside the window. Arnav did the same. They both just sighed. Anjali was there. Anjali finally got the hint seeing how they both were very quiet around her.

Anajli: bhai, do yo mind if I sleep for a bit please. I am already done my coffee. With that she lay her head against the window and closed her eyes. Arnav looked back at anjali and made sure she was sleeping, or he thought so anyways.

Khushi also looked back a couple of times to make sure that Anjali was out. Anjali sighed and tried to sleep. Khushi knew arnav was upset about something. She couldn’t talk to him, but she knew what she could do. She smiled and sniffed. Arnav looked at her from the side of his eyes. She pulled up the side of her duppata that was in the middle of them and fanned it out near the gear stick. She made sure to keep her hand under her duppatta. Arnav smiled. Very slowly he took his hand that was between them off the wheel and very slowly slid it under her duppatta. She smiled and looked the other way. Sucking the side of her bottom lip in. He slowly brought his fingers to her fingers. Very gently he started to slide the tip of his finger around the back of her hand, sometimes between her fingers, sometimes against the side, sometime he would make circles with the tip of his finger with the tip of hers. His touched was giving khushi butterflies. She closedher eyes and started breathing deeply. She bit the inside of her lips trying to keep a control over her senses. She closed her eyes more tightly. Her chest was heaving. He saw the effect that he had on her. He finally smiled and licked his lips. She opened her eyes, smiled and looked outside the window. She tried to pul lher hand back. Arnav cleared his throat. She looked down, turned her face towards him and looked at him from the top of her eyes. Trying to keep her smile down. She raised her eyebrows asking his what was he talking about. He looked at her with wide open eyes and a straight face. He looked down at their hands hinting to her to put her hand back. She grinned, licked her lip and looked the other way. She sighed and slowly brought her fingers back to his. She started to flirtingly slid the tip of her fingers along his. He took a deep sigh. She bit her bottom lip and raised her eyebrow. She took a deep sigh and then knew what she had to do. Using her fingers she tapped the back of his hand. He looked at their hands for a second acknowledging that he knew she wanted to talk to him about something. Using the tip of her finger, she started to write a message.

"kya howa?". He sighed and then shook his head. His eyesbrows slightly furrowed. She looked at him with a sad baby face. A little upset. She abruptly turned her head to look outside and took her hand away. Aranv was surpised. He looked at her and chuckled. She looked very adorable with her little tantrum. She looked at him angrily again. Eyebrows furrowed, straight face. She went and grabbed her duppata off the gear handle and then looked out the window again.

Aranv sighed and just drove. They finally arrived at the cottage. It was nice and peaceful area. Greenery everywhere, with a nice lake nearby. The cottage had many rooms and was very massive. But had a very warm and homey feeling to it.

Khushi got out ofthe car and went to the back to wake up Anjali. Arnav got out of the car as well and welcome akash and Payal to the cottage. Akash stepped out and saw khushis face. She had a raised eyebrow when she saw akash. Payal and Anjali were both talking. Arnav went inside to make sure all was ready for them to stay. Akash went up to Khushi and asked her if Bhai said anything. Khushi started to whisper.

Khushi: your brother is a pain. Just letting you know.

Akash started to laugh.

Akash: Desi girl, why fear when your angraiz is here. You know bhai, make him a bit jealous and everything comes right out.

Khushi gave a mischevious look to Akash. She raised her eyebrow.

Khushi: point hai. What do you have in mind.

Akash: just follow my lead. Khushi nodded and stayed there near the car.

Arnav was coming back outside. Akash went up to khushi as Aranv also walked up to her. Akash winked at khushi. Her eyes widened. Payal and Anjali were both looking at khushi, arnav and akash.

Akash: Khushi, this place is amazing. Honestly, reminds me of our childhood. We had soo much fun.

Khushi smiled and nodded. Arnav sighed and looked at Akash with a raised eyebrow. He lightly chuckled and went to the car to get the stuff. Akash went and put his elbow out towards khushi.

Akash: My fair lady, may I have the honour of walking you in. He looked at her and raised both eyebrows while giving his cheeky smile. She giggled. Then she looked up to Akash and linked her hands into his arm.

Khushi: My pleasure, my angraiz…

They both started to walk in while laughing together and speaking randomly into each others ears.

Aranv stopped smiling. Did she just say MY angraiz? Did she just go inside hand and hand with akash. Akash yelled back.

Akash: Bhai get the bags please. I am going to go and show khushi around the cottage. Thanks.

Aranv looked down, chuckled and then sighed. He knew his brother very well.

Everyone went inside and Aranv started to bring everyones bags inside.

Anjali: Bhai, you never do so much work. Are you trying to impress someone? Hmmmmm...

Everyone started to laugh. Khushi tried to keep her smile in and looked down. Arnav just smiled and went upstairs to put eveyones bags in the hallway.

He came downstairs again and went outside. He just sat on the side of the grass area looking out towards the outside of the hill. He just needed to be alone for some time. Khushi noticed this and started to grow a little concerned. She knew arnav, and she knew something was bothering him. Khushi smiled and went up to Akash. She started to whisper.

Khushi: I think something is wrong. Everyone else is here, I dont think I can go and speak to him. Can you go and talk to him. Please.

Akash smiled at her and sighed. He quietly whispered back.

Akash: Khushi.. Can i say something.

She looked at him nodded her head.

Akash: bhai is really lucky to have you. Thanks for being with him.

Khushi blushed and looked down. She smiled. Akash wasnt going to go and talk to his brother, he was going to let khushi go and do that.

Akash: Ai hai....Desi girl sharma gaeee... They both started to laugh.

Anjali: what are you guys laughing about?

Akash: nothing Anjali. Okay listen, I heard there is a really nice hiking path here. You guys want to go?

Anjali and Payal both readily agreed.

Khushi: sorry, i will have to pass. It is reading week, and i have a lot of reading to get done. That way i can be free for afterwards.

Payal and anjali kept on insisting, but khushi kept on politely refusing. She went upstairs to her room and got her laptop. Everyone else had already left by then. Arnav came back in and sat at the window sill. He had his right knee bent up on the ledge, while the left one was stretched out. He had his arms folded infront of him, while he still looked outside.

Khushi went to the kitchen area and made a cup of tea, and put her laptop on the table. she then went to the window where Arnav was. Aranv knew it was her, He still looked forward.

Khushi: May i? Hinting if she could come beside him.

He looked up at her smiled and nodded. She stood a little away from from him. In case anyone came back, they had to make sure they had their distance between them. They didnt want to face any awkward situation.

Arnav: Tum yahan par kaisay? Arent you suppose to be enjoying with YOUR ANGRAIZ.

Khushi started to laugh. She handed him the cup of tea, he smiled and politely refused. She sighed.

Khushi: Abhi bhi jealousy, from your own brother. Arnav chuckled and then he shook his head and looked down. She took a sip from the cup and then passed it to him. While still looking forwards she softly asked him,

Khushi: You sure you still dont want this.

He smiled. He sighed, he slowly brought his right arm forward and held onto her waist and pulled her in. Now she was standing between his bent knee on the ledge and his left leg that was stretched out. She wrapped both of his hands around her and rested his head on her shoulder. He just needed to hold her closer. She held onto the cup with one hand, and with the other hand she hugged her arm that was infront of her. They both stayed there for a few moments silently.

Arnav: Where is everyone else?

Khushi: They all went on a walk with Akash. I told them i had some reading to get done. Arnav smiled and then sighed.

Khushi: Can i ask you something?

Arnav: poocho.

Khushi: Is something bothering you? You dont have to tell me if you dont want to talk about it. She looked down and the looked forward. He sighed and waited a few moments. HE just kept on looking forward. She stayed quiet.

Arnav: Mom and Dad spoke to me this morning. They spoke to me about... Shyam.

She slowly turned her a head a little bit towards him, kept her gaze down and her smile dissappeared. This is what she was fearing, for Arnav to be torn between both of the families. She turned her head to the front again and looked down. She just kept on hugging her knees.

Arnav: I am sorry khushi. I really really am. They knew about him, from before. Well Dad did anyways. He told me about how he came over to your house the morning after the entire shyam threat happened. She sighed and stayed silent.

Arnav: How come you never told me. Why? You told me, I mean Aish, about what Shyam said. But not what Dad said. He could have stopped Shyam. He should have stopped Shyam. Arnav voice became a bit shaky. He was ashamed.

Arnav: Dad also told me how it was you, you stopped your parents from holding Dad responsible. Itna Pyaar khushi, itna pyaar. He looked at her with concern on his face. His eyes were moist. She sighed and kept her gaze down. She wanted to wait for him to finish. He looked forward again. She sighed.

Khushi: Dad did come to our place, Bauji asked him to come. I didnt tell aish, you, about that because, just like you are the son of my family, i am also the daughter of yours. I know this happened before we got engaged, but, Arnav, I couldnt let the two families come into a situation where it would be hard to face each other. It was better to just stay quiet. And as for Dad, Arnav can i ask you something. A person can only be responsiblefor themselves, not everyone else around them. I am sure, and know for a fact that Dad did try. But, i dont think he was able to do much. Idont hold anyone responsible for any such thing and never will. The same night, Rohits proposal came. It was because of the morning, that i said yes. I would never have, but i didnt want you to ever feel trapped between both of the families.

Aranv just sighed. He then looked at her.

Arnav: Khushi, I cannot promise on anyone elses behalf, but i can promise you that I will always be there for you, protect you. Khushi before I only loved you. But, what you did for my family, familys reputation, Dad, and everything, I now respect you more than anything.

Khushi smiled and looked down. Arnav faced forward and looked down and placed his head back onto her shoulder.

Khushi: Arnav, what you did for my family against shyam, your own uncle, means the world to me. It is easy to love someone, but not easy to fulfil the responsibilities of that love. You always have, and that is why... She sucked in her lips turned her head around. He looked at her in anticipation to hear something he needed to hear,that she loved him. She sighed.

Khushi: that.. I think I should go back to my laptop. I can see everyone else coming.

Arnav turned his head and saw all of them from a far walking back. He sighed. he wasn't ready to let her go.

Arnav: Khushi, you drank the tea alone, you didnt give me any. He looked at her with big eyes and she just smiled. She passed him the cup.

Arnav: I cant sorry, my hands are busy, hugging you.

She smiled and very lovingly helped him take a sip from her tea cup while he hugged her. He looked up at her while she looked at him, both lovingly. They could hear akash yelling from afar. Arnav put his forehead down on her shoulder while looking down. She just giggled.

Arnav: I will need to deal with these three. Otherwise the entire trip will be useless.

Khushi started to laugh, They both stood up and walked away. Khushi went inside and sat at the table working on her laptop. Arnav went upstairs to his room.

Akash and the girls came in.

Akash looked at khushi and asked his where Aranv is. She just shrugged her shoulders and continued to work. Yes akash helped her out, and he was the sweetest to do that as well, but what happens between her and Aranv, was meant to stay between her and Aranv. After a little while, everyone noticed Arnav coming downstairs, smiling. Akahs smiled as well.

Anjali: Bhai, you seem like you are in a better mood.

Arnav: My mood was always good, just needed to rest it out. How was the hike?

Akash: How did you know went on a hike bhai? I only told khushi. How do you know. Khushis eyes wide opened. She gulped and hid her face into her laptop. Her cheeks started to turn a little red. She took a deep breath. Arnav smirked at akash and shook his head. He sighed, akash forgot that he was dealing with his elder brother, elder was the key word.

Arnav: Oh, ok, so you went do go and play kabaddi. Akash,what else is there that you can do here except for hiking and trails. Anajli and Payal laughed at akash. Akash was annoyed, he looked at khushi who was also enjoying this very much. She looked at akash and pointed her tongue out in a teasing manner. Akash also smiled. He was just happy that his brother was back to his good spirits.

Akash: Bhai, this will not be forgotten.

It was later that evening and everyone sat around the sitting area just enjoying some talks. While Arnav and Khushi were both on their laptops getting some readings done. Anajli hinted to Payal to go and check what Khushi was doing on her laptop while she checked arnavs. They both went behind them and saw that both Khushi and Aranv were doing their readings.

Anjali: You two are the most boring couple ever!!! Did you two know that. I mean, bhai organized a nice cottage trip for all of us, including his fiancee, and both of them are doing their university work. Khushi and Arnav both started to laugh.

Arnav: Because my dear sister, It is reading week, and we need to also get out readings done. We have exams within a couple of week of us returning.

Khushi looked at Payal and Anjlia, scrunched her face and nodded.

Akash smiled.

Akash: I know, they are soooo boring na. He looked at khushi and then arnav and winked at them. Akash knew them a little too well. Khushi and Aranv both looked at akash with a raised eyebrow and gave him the 'dont you dare' stare.

Akash: let them be boring, lets all play a game.

Khushi held her head and arnav shook his head. Akashs games were always very dangerous, especially for them.

Akash: Staring game. First one to blink, is out. Lets have a tournament.

Akash anjali and Payal started to play. Akash and Payal both got out, and Anajli dragged khushi to come and play with them. Khushi closed her eyes. Took a deep breath. Anjali was sitting right infront of khushi when Aranv pushed her and sat in her place. He looked at everyone, put his finger on his lips and told them not to laugh.

Akash: One,,, two...Three. Open.

Khsuhi opened her eyes and they immeidatly widened. Arnav was sitting right infront of her. He looked at her with one eyebrow raised and a smile creeping up on his lips. She took a deep breath and stopped breathing. She sucked in her lips to try to conceal her smile. She was turning read. She looked down or to the sides. Arnav on the other hand was enjoying himself. Khushi was bothering him in the car and gave her cute little temper tantrums, this was now Arnavs turn. Arnav rubbed his hands and put them together and rested his chin on them. Still staring at her. Not a wink, not a blink. She gulped and was constantly looking side to side. She had butterflies in her stomach by the way she felt arnavs eyes on her. Payal, Anajli and Akash were having a ball looking at khushi blush. She was now turning red. She took both of her hands and covered mouth and nose. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

Anjali: YAYYYYY..Bhai won!

Every started to laugh. Khushi went back to her chair and got back on her laptop. She was still red. Her cheeks were hot, and started to hurt. It was a pleasant pain from all the blushing. Akash and everyone tried to bother khushi, but she just tried to keep her smile to a minimum, sometimes sucking in her lips, sometimes licking the, and something biting them. Arnav chuckled and went to his laptop as well.

Anjali: khushi, that is not the engagement ring we gave you. This one is nice as well. But where is that one? Bhai, did you notice, khushi isnt wearing the engagement ring we got her.

Arnav cleared his throat. He scratched his forehead.

Arnav: Actually it is. He just looked at Anjali and smiled. Khushis eye widended, he didnt just say what she thought she heard. She held her breath for a second. Her fingers froze on the keyboard.

Anjali: It is? How?

Akash: Now this I want to know.

Arnav hinted to Akash to ask khushi.

Akash: hey Desi Girl, how did you get this ring? And how is this the engagementring that bhai is referring to? Care to share.

Khushi looked at Akash with a straight face. She then looked down again.

Akash: Bhaiiii....... Whyyyyy..... Is she shyyyyy???? Everyone started to laugh and arnav got a pillow from his sofa and threw it at him.

Arnav: Mom told me that the old one didnt fit well, so she got another one. Simple as that, nothing more.

Everyone tried to poke more into the matter, but khushi and arnav both remained silent.

Khushi started to type.

Anjali: Khushi, are you writing up a paper or something. I thought you were reading.

Khushi cleared her throat.

Khushi: I am emailing Aish. Arnav got the hint. He raised his eyebrow, smiled and immediatly signed on.

Akash: Aish? Yeh kaun hai?

Payal: Oh, Aish is Khushi's penpal since we were kids. they always email. I think he lives in india or something,right. Khushi just nodded her head.

Arnav and khushi just started to chat online with each other.

Khushi: Stop it na! Everyone is here.

Arnav: Kya. Stop what?

Khushi: You know what I am talking about. Just stop it na. It doesnt look nice.

Arnav: I have no idea what you are talking about.

Arnav was trying to play innocent while Khushi took a deep breath, waited a moment and with a very determined looked messaged him back.

Khushi: While we are here, you cannot flirt with me, come near me, touch me, or make me blush. Just not allowed! Otherwise i wont talk to you at all!

Arnav eyes were wide. He immediately started to talk and not type anymore.

Arnav: No! I refuse.

Everyone stopped and looked at arnav. Khsuhis eyes widened.

Akash: refuse what bhai?

Arnav looked around him for a second.

Arnav: Gabriella, my professor emailed me, and wants to resubmit something. I refuse to do it. Just not accepting her terms and conditions.

Khushi sighed of relief.

Eveyorne else was confused.

Anjali: Bhai is always working away on his work, even on a vacation. Bhai just say no to her. You are here on vacation, you need to enjoy!

Arnav: Exactly what I was thinking!. He said that loudly with an emphasis.

Khushi sent him another message.

Khushi: NO! NO! NO! Come on, please.

Arnav: Didnt you hear what Anjali just said, it is our vacation time, and I need to enjoy.

Khushi: come on na Arnav. Please maan jao.

Arnav sighed.

Arnav: One condition, you give me some free time alone tonight.

Khushi: How. When. Not possible. Everyone is here.

Arnav: Leave that up to me. Just be ready after everyone goes to bed ok.

Khushi smiled while looking at her laptop, arnav peeked a look and saw the smile.

Later that evening, everyone was in a chatty mood. They all decided to stay up and talk about the good old times. Aranv was starting to get annoyed. How was he to arrange for this. He asked Akash to help him get some stuff from the car forthe room at night. Akash came outside.

Arnav: akash, my most favourite brother. I need a favour.

Akash: no. Whatever it is, no.

Arnav put his arm around Akashs shoulder.

Arnav: Come on. Batman and Robin right. Your my side kick. Think about how happy khushi would be as well. I mean she is such a good friend of yours. Right.

Akash gave him a straight face. After a little while he rolled his eyes and sighed.

Akash: Only for khushi.

Arnav: Thanks. Ok, I wanted to take khushi out for a nice walk alone at night. But Everyone else is in the mood of staying up all night. Kuch karo na about that.

Akash: Why do you and khushi always come to me and tell me to think of ideas. Fine. Let me think. But you owe me. Big time!

Arnav and Akash came back into the cottage.

Akash: hey guys i was thinking, what if we do a sunrise walk on the hiking trail. I heard it is the best around this time of year. We can stay up tomorrow night.

Anajli and Payal were a little hessitant. Akash looked at khushi and asked her for her opinion.

She looked at anjali, payal and then at arnav. Arnav looked at her and hinted for her to agree with akash. Anajli and Payal looked at khushi and told her to say no. Payal and Anjali came right infront of Khushi and held onto her hands.

She looked down and sighed. What could she possibly say.

Khushi: whatever everyone else decides.

Arnavs had a straight face. Anajli and Payal took Khushis hand and brought her over to table. They all sat there and spoke. Akash looked at Aranv and shrugged his shoulders. There was nothing he could do more than that. Akash went and sat down with them. Arnav sighed, got his laptop and went to the big sofa and started doing this work. As for Khushi she excused her self and sat at the other sofa with her laptop. She tried to message arnav on his phone, he took a look and then put his phone down. She sat there. She queitly worked on her laptop. It was very late at night when khushi fell asleep on the sofa while arnav was still working on his. Payal and Anjali got up and were about to take khushi. Akash stopped them and whispered.

Akash: Khushi does not need us. She has bhai. He smiled at his brother while he just worked away on his laptop. Arnav got up and went over to khushi, put her laptop away and gently picked her up in his arms. She gently rest her head against his shoulder. He felt much better after holding her close to his heart. She snuggled her head more into him. Payal anjali and akash followed. He quietly walked upto her room, payal opened the door and arnav placed her on the bed. He quietly went out of the room and back downstairs. He still had some more work to finish before he could call it a night. Everyone else went to bed. Khushi woke up after a little bit, and went outside of her room. She made sure everyone else was sleeping. She quietly went downstairs and stood behind arnav. He knew she was there, but didnt turn his head. He was upset with her. They wanted to spend some time with her alone, and she didnt come.

Khushi slowly and gently placed her hands on his shoulders from the back. Very slowly she slid her arms more to his front and slid them to the front of his chest. She wrapped her arms around him. She leaned in and gently placed her head against his. She quietly whispered.

Khushi: Naraz ho?

Arnav: hmmm.

Khushi: Sorry. I couldnt say no to them.

Arnav: yes you could have.
