As she walked out of his room she rehearsed how to say "The man I am seeing is Stern's client Avyaan Singh

She speculated if she would be fired on the spot or if Rohan will be considerate and give her enough time to look for another job. Either way the whole office was going to find out about her dalliance

She needed courage to pull the band aid off pretty quickly

She had brought a bunch of dresses to his house, she wasn't sure if she had too many loose kurtas or shift dresses.

"Ma I am pregnant she whispered as she sat in the bathroom stall

She literally felt her belly sink into the pot

Her mother didn't even know she was hooking up with Avyaan, so being pregnant would be like

"Oh I didn't even know you had a plot of land, you mean to say you built a house and are adding an addition to the first floor?

Jesus! She swore

There was no way to tell her

Maybe I can have the baby, leave her with Avyaan and go down to Bangalore in future?

But how can I pull off not visiting for 7 months?

"Oh sorry... just too many people screwing... up I mean.. not managing their business well and needing help she quickly reworded turning red

"This is such a dull place Sam, do something... the foreign bank across the street has HAPPY HOURS, they actually serve beer on bank's tab... yaha to Rohan wont even serve water on company tab

She was the party animal until 4 weeks ago

Life was glorious when hooking up, she would text him, show up and spend three or 6 or 10 enchanted hours in his arms and return to the drudgery of budget consulting

Now she was living with him, but there was no ecstasy or nothing

Rohan summoned her to his office around 6:15 and asked if she had thought about when she would like to be gone

He had just returned from a run, he was pouring cold water over his tee near the kitchen sink

He whistled when the dog barked

He sprinted to the bathroom, she leaned on the door and refused to leave

When she reappeared he ogled the silky glossy legs sparkling with water beads

She lay down to catch her breath

"Are u OK? he bend down

"Hmm... the long hot shower was so good, the steam made me breathless, I am OK she muttered

He threw his watch on the nightstand and turned

"can u leash the dog

"No he said entering the bathroom

"How can I get off this bed then? she shrieked

"Stay in bed he said shutting the door

THIRTY FRIGGING WEEKS... Good God!! She cried and scowled at the same time leaning on the headboard and shutting her eyes

Like I said the other day...you have to be a grossly unqualified or under qualified so & so's so & so in order for large multinational corporations to hire you with eyes closed.

Then you will get a hiring bonus, full relocation and a corner office, and 10Ku of stock😡

Rest of us mere mortals have to go to indeed.com and apply and do mannat that we will chadao 100 modaks if we get an interview call or walk up the seven hills of Tirupati if we are hired

After all that, we will be told "Oh! well you didnt have that imaginary skill that the no name college kid had"

True ... what's worse... that too building the house and the additional floor on a plot of land that doesn't have a patta nor an encumbrance certificate yet , no registration , no stamp duty paid 😊

The stuff they are doing or not doing, the words / thoughts they are voicing or not voicing are all adding to their frustrations and getting on to their nerves...

May be they should go back to her non smart phone kind of texting days. Communicate and get a response ... that model worked well between them.

Nowhere to hide for them soon. By the way I was wondering is there any official protocol that requires client personal affairs to be communicated ... there can't be a policy for this right valid legally!

Having said that, she better tells him hoping he wouldn't discriminate her for her situation. It could get Rohan pissed off though... not that she should give a damn given that she's keeping the baby. But this is absolutely awkward of a different magnitude.

I thought Rohan's response was very measured as it should be... As a boss he would also be careful to not show dissent or discriminate whatever be his personal take on her situation I think.

Avyaan after fathering the baby is discovering layers to her... every small and not so small detail that she carefully covered her tracks is out in the open and it's adding to his frustration of how little he knows of her yet and how little she has been willing to reveal. It's absolutely worst timing that things are coming out in the open now...

Bathroom , bedroom, kitchen, wardrobe ... all over space issues for now ... when, how, how much to share or compromise or accommodate .

By the way there is no compulsion she should stay with him!!! She might want to ask herself! So why is she putting up with this! 😊 couldn't have been a worse time than now to loose not only her body and mind but also her heart...

Something struck my memory after her tete e tete with her boss. A few yrs bk So I had an assignment for about 6 weeks where I had to go work out of that office. After lunch on most days I went for a walk with two co workers there. These two became my walk companions. But on days I found myself walking with just one particular lady, she used to vent about her recent ex, her current not taking names of either of them and her troubles with her 15 yr old teen son. Except offering suggestions on her teen son, I just remained a listener. Probably she found that venting therapeutic .

About I think six months bk I had a dinner with a lady who is one of the heads there. I was making pleasant conversations during which I enquired about my walk friend. Learnt that my walk friend quit after the grapevine and her personal stuff with her current who happened to be the company's important client got public leaving her in a personal mess situation. What's worse the client walked out on her as well. The lady who I was dining with , said relieved, it was a bit awkward with her you know but she quit on her own ...feeling slighted by the grapevine but managed to find work elsewhere soon.

Yep stuff happens...
