hey guys..sorry for the short delay but dnt get time to update often..there are a few parts left now..so plz bear with me nd i will update soon!!
Kripa dressed for Prem and Mukti's wedding with unusual care. She wanted to look good for her husband as it would be their last night together. She wanted the moment to stop, to come to a standstill so she could be with him forever but sadly, it was not possible. She looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her eyes looked bigger due to the dark circles under them which she had been trying to hide with make up.
This was a result of the many sleepless nights she had spent, planning every step from her departure. She had already written a letter addressed to Angad, telling him that she was safe but could not put up with this farce anymore. She had already packed her bags which were hidden in the closet. She looked up when she saw him enter the room and knew that she had achieved her objective when she saw the look in his eyes. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
Angad: How about we skip the whole wedding thing and celebrate it our own way.
Kripa: You're the best man so I suggest you better hurry up before we get late, she teased Angad.
Angad: Shall we? He asked, extending his hand towards her. Kripa tucked her arm through his and the two of them left for the wedding hall. Kripa toyed about with the ring on her finger, her wedding band. She tried to smile but it came out as a grimace. Tonight was going to be the hardest night of her life.
Kripa sat next to her husband silently, her mind on her imminent departure. She reflected back to her own wedding with Angad as she watched the customs take place that would bind Prem and Mukti in holy matrimony for the rest of their lives. She could see the love shining in their eyes and wallowed in self pity, cursing her ill fate.
The only source of comfort and ray of hope amongst her misery was the presence of the child within her, their unborn child she was carrying in her womb. Kripa observed closely as the elders fussed over Aaliya and her unborn baby, the look of concern, fear and joy on Josh's face and felt a twinge of jealousy. Her eyes strayed to the love of her life, her husband, Angad Khanna who sat there lost in thought.
Angad had been scrutinizing Kripa for the past few minutes and he knew her well enough to know that there was something troubling her. He wished she would confide in him, so that he could do something to wipe the frown off her face, replace it with her quick smile which brightened up his life. He could no longer bear to see the pain in her eyes. As soon as they got home, he questioned her about it.
Angad: Kripa! What's wrong? You've been silent the whole day. Is something bothering you? Please do tell me.
Kripa looked at Angad and burst into tears. She buried her head in his chest and cried her heart out, letting go off her pent up emotions till she was exhausted and went to sleep in his arms, unaware of the fact that he lay awake the whole night, caressing her cheeks while he pondered over her troubled state of mind.
Kripa woke up the next morning to an empty house. She checked the time and it was half hour past 9. She sighed as she looked about, hoping to catch sight of Angad, part of her praying he was there while the other halves feverently hoped he wasn't. If she saw him, he would weaken her resolution to leave and Kripa was glad when she noticed he was not at home.
Kripa placed the letter she had addressed to him on the bedside table. She then took off every single ring Angad had placed on her fingers, the engagement ring, and the ring he had gifted to her on her birthday and lastly, she toyed with her wedding band, contemplating on whether to take it off or leave it on. Kripa could not bear to part with the one thing that linked her to Angad and she placed the ring back on her finger. She then placed then alongside the letter then, gathered all her luggage and drove off to her parent's house.
She needed to tell them she was going away, away some place new where she could nurse her broke heart as well as raise her child. As soon as Kripa entered the house, she saw that they had company, Kaavya and Anjali. Kripa put her bags down as everyone stared at her in amazement.
Kripa: I have left Angad. Please do not ask me why. I am going away, where I don't know but I need to get away. I hope you respect my decision. With this note, Kripa burst into tears. An anxious Gythari and Anjali rushed forth to comfort her. They led her to her former bedroom while Kaavya and Kripa's father sat there shell shocked.
Anjali: Kripa honey! Where are you going to go?
Kripa: Anywhere. I don't want him to find me. I know he will come looking for me.
Kaavya: Kripa! I beg you to reconsider. Have you told Angad about your decision? Kripa shook her head in disagreement.
Kaavya: Fine then but why don't you go to Paris? I have a cottage there and since you don't have any immediate plans, you can go there and stay there till you want. It will be a great relief to us to know where you are. I promise you we wont tell Angad as to your whereabouts. Kripa agreed reluctantly.
Kripa: Kaavya, she whispered. Take care of him for me. She pleaded with him. Kaavya kissed her forehead and went off to make her travel arrangements.
Gythari: a mother does everything for the safety and happiness of her child. I believe you are doing the same. I will protect you and I want you to take care of yourself and the baby. Kripa offered her mother a watery smile and hugged her.
Kripa and the others made their way to the airport where she departed for Paris. Kaavya had already called his housekeeper and warned her about Kripa's arrival. Kripa hugged each and everyone of them and bid them goodbye, asking each of them to take care of her Angad.
As soon as her plane took off, Angad arrived at an empty home. He looked around for Kripa and tried calling her but to no avail. His eyes then fell on the letter and her rings on the bedside table. With trembling hands he picked it up and;
Dear Angad,
By the time you get around to reading this letter, I will be far away fro you. I myself have no idea where I am headed but know that I am safe and will miss you like anything. There is something I've been meaning to tell you for a long time but couldn't get around to saying it for I feared that you might not return the sentiment. Angad, I love you! You may not know it but I have been head over heels in love with you ever since I laid my eyes on you. After you broke my heart, I vowed never to open it up to you again but I found myself falling deeper and deeper for you. Please know that I love you with all my heart and will do so till my last breath. Take care of yourself and try to forgive me.
Kripa.
Angad let out a wail of anguish. He dropped down to his knees, tears in his eyes. And he ran like the wind, hoping to find her, praying for a miracle to happen so that he could claim her and tell her he loved her with every fiber in his body.
